I didn’t read it as the Giants would have done 2 seconds, just they were spitballing about possibilities and what the price might be. And even if they initially thought they would be willing to, once they realized no other team was coming close to that then why would they?

This isn’t pawn stars. The Panthers leverage was limited. The Giants were negotiating more against other teams than they were negotiating with the Panthers. Burns himself was also part of the equation because he had to be willing to sign with the new team, which would limit the suitors further. The deal was also done by Morgan, not Fitterer. The Panthers took the best offer they got and they weren’t really in a position to walk away from the table and try to force a better offer. That’s how you end up stuck with getting nothing but a compensatory pick for Burns when he walks as a free agent. It is what it is.

Nothing burger of a story. The market dictated Burns’ value.

Well the Panthers Blueprint episode that just dropped didn’t focus on Young at all and yet people are still here complaining because Adam Thielen answered a question. So, I reject your premise that the complainers would complain less if there was less focus on Young, because there has already been less focus on Young and here we still are.

So would you guys prefer they just not talk or give interviews at all and we have nothing to read and zero insight, or is it that you want him to say everything is terrible and the sky is falling?

What a tragedy! I think you are conflating what is hope and what is expectation.

Was looking forward to this episode and it delivered. Great watch and a good introduction to our big FA acquisitions. I think our depth is really suspect across the board, but if we can stay healthy (big if), I really like our starters on both offense and defense and think we could surprise some folks this year.

I don’t get the hype around last years D. It was a bad defense, IMO, that benefited from teams just playing vanilla and risk free football because our offense was so bad they knew they didn’t need to do much. They couldn’t stop the run and couldn’t generate turnovers. The only thing they were average at was rushing the passer. I see a slightly worse pass rush this year and much better run D, with the secondary being a wash.

Things can change so quickly in the NFL. There’s been so many examples of teams being train wrecks one season then decent the next. I’m holding out hope we’ve finally got things right because why not.

Saying “I would spend a couple weeks in the fetal position if I took 65 sacks” is gargling his nuts? Imagine talking about middle ground when this prolonged ranting about pity parties and nut gargling is your response to THAT post. I made zero commentary on Bryce Young as a QB.
