Most things that made it good are already dead, imo. The transfer portal combined with the money makes it all a complete joke. There’s no longer any sense of school pride, at least for me. If my team does well it is in large part because they paid better guys than the next team. When I went to college, I had some basketball players living in the same apartments and they’d show up to parties sometimes. You’d see guys around and they were just normal broke college kids like you. There was comraderie and pride that these guys saw the same school you loved and wanted to be there just like you. All of that is gone. It’s pro sports now, but worse. The players aren’t there long enough to feel like you know the team. No connection, just bragging rights over who has the largest and most affluent donor base.

Because of course we do lol.

I’m legitimately shocked. That is crazy.

Observer Projections / *Updated Panthers Waiver Additions
WUnderhill replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
People seem to forget a lot about Cam. He had a big arm but was not good at touch passes or leading his receivers. He was one of the worst screen pass throwers I’ve ever seen and never seemed to get the hang of the touch needed. He was notorious for overthrowing receivers. His best year as a deep ball thrower was his rookie year, imo, and then he seemed to get less accurate with it. Overthrew wide open Ted Ginn plenty. This is all pre shoulder issues. Don’t get me wrong, Cam was special and I was one of his biggest defenders, but he left a lot to be desired as a passer. We drafted big receivers so it was harder for him to overthrow them. For years we all lamented how our receivers didn’t have much opportunity for yac because Cam just rifled the passes to wherever the receiver was at the time. He was the antithesis of an anticipation thrower. -
Well…ew.

Maybe this is a break in a way. I’m sure Icky is a better run blocker, but it’s definitely possible that Brady Christensen is a better pass blocker.

There was one post pooed in this entire thread and you seemed to be having trouble connecting the dots. Just trying to help out. -

Everybody can speak for themselves, but my guess is you got poo’ed for immediately reverting to the “Do you work for the Tepper’s” comment in an otherwise normal discussion. -
The guy was born and raised and spent his whole life in Minnesota so I can get the excitement if the only reason they left was for a job. Also, I’m sure there’s some degree of satisfaction in sticking it to the Vikings in a way by performing so well over the past couple years that they are actually trading draft picks to get you back when before they didn’t want you. He was a professional while here, and if he was coming to my team I’d be happy to see him and his family excited to come, so I find it hard to hold against them. The wife seems most excited about it. Probably all her friends and social network from all the way back to childhood are back there.

So we get the #1 pick in the 4th round and give them the #32 pick in the 5th round…LFG!
-
Basically the #52 pick.

SKOL? Like the chewing tobacco?

Lol I really don’t think it warrants this much ire.

My thing is, with the cap room we have we could have afforded to pick up his salary to get a better draft pick. I’d be fine if the Panthers picked up his whole salary and got a 2026 3rd instead of a 2027 4th. Who knows if that was even a possibility though.
-
Oof, not a fan. We basically got a 2027 fourth and swapped fifth round picks in different years. Who gaf about the conditional 7th. Just feels like he had more value to us than that even for just one season.

I agree Tepper completely bumbled everything after purchasing the Panthers. Kept Rivera and Hurney too long, including letting Hurney last into Matt Rhule’s tenure instead of hiring a GM to hire the head coach, and then hiring Matt Rhule and giving him way too much power, then keeping him into year 3. For all the reputation Tepper has as having too quick of a trigger finger with coaches/GMs, it is entirely unwarranted. 2 out of 3 head coaches and GMs he kept too long. That being said, it would have all probably ended up fine if Matt Rhule had not been a complete egotistical idiot who felt the need to piss all over everything about the franchise to mark his territory. All he had to do was keep Cam on the last year of his contract, listen to 1st round draft genius Marty Hurney and go up and get Justin Herbert, and not trade for reclamation project QBs every year. And now hearing poo like this, how about not run your star RB in goal line drills his first practice back from injury. I wish Matt Rhule nothing but the worst in his coaching career because it was his hubris and arrogance that led to all of this. -
Isaiah Simmons, Ben Simmons, Richard Simmons.

Typical college coach bs. All of our current problems have been a butterfly effect of hiring that egostistical douchebag and giving him way too much power for way too long.- 55 replies

Official Panthers Roster Cuts (Updated)
WUnderhill replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
A 5th round pick. He must have been complete ass in camp/preseason for them to give up on him so quickly. -
Lol, not a single condescending post was made in this thread until you, Mr. “put away the violin”. Derail, derail, derail then all you ever have to say is “oh you’re just carrying water.” I see it every day from you and I have made it a point to not talk to you for a while now, so you pretending like I’m some exception is hilarious. Everybody is tired of it dude, give it a rest.

Your reading comprehension is off the charts bad. What part of “his rookie year” did you not understand? So we haven’t even started Bryce Young’s third season and you want to compare to Cam’s whole career because that’s what supports your crusade. It’s nonsensical but I’d expect no less. Owe were all pissed at the franchises lack of investment in Cam as his career went on, but you trying to compare what Cam started his career with to what Bryce Young started his career with is laughable and shows just how blinded you’ve become by your need to be right. Keep projecting your insecurities “bud”. Most of this board is sick of you dragging every thread into the same tired bullshit.

Cam also had Greg Olsen, Jeremy Shockey, Steve Smith, DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart in his rookie season alone. He was surrounded by all time Panther greats including at least 2 potential hall of famers. Why leave that out? All Bryce Young has had the past 2 seasons is Adam Thielen, Chuba Hubbard, and some rookie WRs we are hoping will be good. Why do you feel the need to argue in a thread in which op post is pretty self explanatory. We were starting and relying on multiple players who can’t even make another 53 man roster. Your crusade is so old. It’s really ok to acknowledge that whatever your thoughts are on Bryce Young, he started his career with a really bad supporting cast.

Josina Anderson: Panthers NOT trading Adam Thielen
WUnderhill replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
So the Panthers turned down a 4th and his proposal is the Panthers accept even less plus eat some of his salary? Rigghhhtttt.
