  1. Nothing anyone says would equate being worth it. You conveniently ignore what doesn’t suit your narrative. It’s a much better idea to overpay a 32 year old who got sent home from his last team or take a QB at 9 who can’t handle college defenses. Good Luck
  2. In his 2nd year, with a pitiful team. And they were almost identical. One played in a dome most of year. One in crazy CHI weather. And where does the 1000 more yards rushing factor in? Do they not count anymore. Sure did when Cam was here. ATL was 3rd in rushing with or without Mariota. CHI was 1st in rushing, 24th if Fields runs were removed.
  3. As a Steeler fan, I’m good either way. They pay him and it will eat up cap needed elsewhere. And he’s only beaten us once his career so not worried there. They trade him and they join the ranks of teams looking for a QB. Which we can all agree sux. I’d trade him and be on the phone with Bears the minute it was done.
  4. That’s what I’m trying to say as well. This is the first time I thought they might trade him.
  5. His stock plummets with the Bears. Then it becomes an auction for half the league to participate in. He makes 5M. Less than many backups. They don’t have to take any offer until someone meets their price. And so compared the Darnold situation because it fits your scenario much more than Fields. Fields has value. Darnold was a punchline. So you would give 9, both 2nds, and next years 1st to draft a 5’10, 180 unproven player over giving a pick for a player who improved as much as any QB not named Trevor and ran for more yards than all but one QB. Ever. Good Luck with that.
  6. They made a choice. The point was to show that the departing QB isn’t always trash. And they aren’t. But you’re equating Fields to a Darnold type value and those two situations couldn’t be more different. Every QB needy team would line up and be glad to give more for him. What QB are you getting with that pick that has more going for him than Fields. The plan is to hope that one of two QBs falls to 9? If giving up 9 is out. What’s the plan. Show me a reasonable scenario that lands a QB better than Fields in CAR. This year or even next year?
  7. Manning also went on to set passing records in Denver for 3 years. I’m not spinning it because Fields will be their QB. If they did make him available, he would go for much more than one pick. A QB on a rookie deal who improved a ton in one year would bring a haul. Or you can draft AR and hope he progresses to the level of Fields despite all evidence to the contrary. This isn’t Sam Darnold that no teams want. This is a successful, cheap QB with a large upside.
  8. What does where he was drafted have anything to do with it? The Colts CUT Manning to draft Luck. Was Manning trash? And Fields has thrown the ball as well as any QB this team has had since Cam. With a bonus 1,100 rushing yds. Make sure to use that pick on a QB who can’t handle college. If any are even left.
  9. You wouldn’t have to worry. If he was available for 9, Fields would be in ATL the next day for 8. You think the Falcons would pass that up?
  10. Stroud impressed me against GA. But not to a point I’m giving up multiple premium picks. I don’t think Young is going to be able to run around with plenty of time to throw like in college. You’ve seen him when a team can pressure him. I could see him becoming a Kirk Cousins type. The rest are just not good. Levis is a long shot. AR is a lottery ticket. Maybe a flier on Hooker in the 3rd. After that I don’t see anything.
  11. There’s no probably. Fields isn’t going anywhere. I’m not sure what’s worse. A person writing an article about an unrealistic, hypothetical example(price would be much more than 9) or that most fans wouldn’t trade the pick but would rather pay much more for an unknown.or pray a QB that cant handle college falls to them.
  12. Right now. Sure. Check back after FA and a draft. They have a ton more money than anyone. And will end up with a haul of picks for #1. They have the resources to get better very quickly.
  13. That sure seems like an odd pairing for LJ.
  14. No. A coach must be with a team for two seasons to qualify the team to receive comp picks. Found that out when Steelers hired Flores.
  15. But the value is there to draft a QB in that spot who has never looked consistently good in college instead. That makes Huddle sense.
  16. This was the obvious outcome from the moment the Raiders sent him home. It was sad watching all the made up scenarios from “insiders.” He wasn’t going to pass on being a true FA.
  17. You can’t hold a receiver anywhere. Or every DB would just do it every play. And “catchable doesn’t apply to holding.
  18. The stadium surface has always been an issue. When the BCSCG with Cam was there, players were slipping constantly. That was 2011.
  19. Why is that? Did one play change the fact that Hurts was 2nd in MVP voting and fans on here are debating Sam Darnold’s place on the team.
  20. Sure. Except for the fact that one is 4th all time in FG% and the other is 24th. Wanna guess. But it was genius to pay Gano 10M to not even play while Butker was the 2nd best PK in the NFL while on a minimum rookie deal.
  21. Reich is going to have to be a “Dr. Strange” level wizard if he’s going to make it where Darnold doesn’t piss down his leg at the first sign of pressure.
