The leaps and bounds of improvement we've seen from Bryce over year 1 -year 2 and within year 2 (post benching) is exactly why I won't write XL off yet. These guys aren't finishing products in the NFL. That said, T-Mac is, and definitely should be in consideration with our 1st pick.

6 weeks ago I would have taken a conditional 7th to never see him on the sideline ever ago. I don't know that he'll ever contend for an MVP or anything but in reality, if we win these last 3 games including today (which he has played more than well enough to do) we are right in the thick of the division race and tied for first with our eyes on playing postseason football. That is insane to say out loud and should be the bare minium for us as soon as next year. Contending for the division.

Hope that's just looks worse than it is but that may be the knee again. -
I don't and I never have. Especially not when he wants to get paid like he's actually the most accurate kicker in the NFL.

Refs and Eddy took 10 points off the board in regulation. Chuba fumble in OT. Defense continues to show a complete inability to stop the run. Countless (at least 5) drops by the offense. Would i have liked for him to go for at least one of, if not both of those 4th and short on the first 3 FG drives? Absolutely, but Canales and Bryce 1000% were not the issue today.

OFFICIAL Panthers vs Buccaneers Gameday thread

4th play on that drive with an obvious hold or block in the back not called. Shout out refs for fuging us on the Thielen TD. Shout out Eddy for continually being a goat in all the worst ways. Most accurate kicker in NFL history. Lol.- 2,035 replies

Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were: 32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers. 32nd in Rushing TDs allowed 29th in Scoring. We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games. Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line. This year, our Defense ranks: 31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers 31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL. Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him. If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.

Wtf. First time in his life Burns has played the run. That's like his 6th or 7th stop at the LOS. If he did this consistently the Panthers probably would have paid him what he thought he was worth. -

Now we get to watch them drive down and score the go ahead TD with seconds left so Bryce can throw 3 yard check downs needing a TD. -

5 steps back on a shotgun snap lol. Bryce continues to be what he is, and that's not an NFL qb. I had hopes those first 2 drives and after getting pressure one time he's reverted back to the same poo that got him benched. -
If Bryce is throwing for 300+ yards a game every game Canales wins coach of the year and were picking in the middle teens. Believe it when I see it.
-
The biggest hurdle to trading Bryce isn't the compensation but the salary Cap implications and the acceleration of his remaining money. Almost 10 mil in dead cap for a team that has 1.3 million in cap space. Hes not going anywhere this year. Barring a miraculous turnaround down the stretch he also won't be here for training camp next year.

Deserve? Tough word. Nobody "deserves" anything in the NFL. Bryce still showed the same flaws he's shown his entire career. His physical limitations are what they are. The two point conversion, he drifted back and to the right causing the sack because he's 9 yards behind where the pocket should be. The big 3rd down conversion over the middle to XL was a duck with no zip on it. The 3rd down play XL got hurt on was late and had no zip. Gave the defender time to get him behind the line of scrimmage. That said I will credit him for making the deep throws today. That pass off David Moore was about as perfect as perfect can be, as was the sideline strike to XL. They ended up being 0-2 with a pick in the stat book but those were winning plays right there. More of that. Good things happen when we push the ball deep. It's no coincidence that the running game picked up in the 2nd half when we started pushing the ball. The game as a whole was a C+ for him. We win this one going away with Andy imo and Dalton is still going to give us a far better look at evaluating our receivers because of his arm talent but I think if the team isn't in danger of revolting like they were week 2, you put Bryce out there in Germany.
