Agreed, he’d make a good amount at QB needy SEC team (Auburn/Florida). -

I’m actually seeing Auburn which would be funny considering Freeze and McCall had a pretty good battle in the Cure Bowl a couple of years ago when Willis, Freeze, and Liberty ended McCall’s, Chadwell’s (Liberty’s new coach), and Coastal’s perfect season. -
Fast may be back tomorrow, Aho will not be. RBA doesn’t want to rush either one.

McCall is in the portal, seems like he’s intent on returning to college. That’ll upset some folks here. -
Finally a lock down corner, it only took 10 years to replace Chris Gamble.

So it looks like Reyna’s playing time wasn’t due to anything tactical at all. According to reports, he was half assing it in training and was nearly sent home. Apparently, he later apologized to the team.

QB for sure, it’s just a matter of if you want to take one at 18 or wherever we’ll be picking. I don’t like any QB in that slot so I’d go with tight end. If Mayer is sitting there I don’t see how you pass him up. Additionally, I’d be fine with Jaren Hall, Anthony Richardson, or Cam Ward in the second/third. And while I’ve written Corral off like most, I’d be interested to see if he looks better under Wilks.

I’m assuming you mean six defensemen? And just call someone up when needed? So 14 forwards, 6 defenseman, and 3 goalies? I could see it.

Damn, that sucks. Was an organizational legend and never gave up on the team, he continually would come to games to support the team well after he had moved on from the game of basketball. Forever thankful for what he and Stephen did for the organization.

It’s going to be interesting to see what the Canes look like when fully healthy, lots of options and bodies but a limited amount of spots. Forwards: Aho, Necas, Svechnikov, Pacioretty, Jarvis, Teravainen, Martinook, Noesen, Kotkaniemi, Staal, Fast, Stastny, Drury, Kase, Stepan (15) Defenseman: Slavin, Burns, Skjei, Pesce, de Haan, Chatfield, Lajoie, Coghlan (8) Goalies: Kochetkov, Andersen, Raanta (3) 26 players and only 23 spots. I assume Drury will go back down and only one of Lajoie/Coghlan will stay up (at all times). I’m not sure what they’ll do with that last spot.
-
I’m going to shout out Martinook, he’s got 14 points in 27 games and is on pace for 42 points this year (including 21 goals), just two off of what Nino put up last year on Staal’s wing.
-
After tonight, Kochetkov’s save percentage should be in the top 10 and his GAA should be in the top 3. We’ve got our number one guy now and for the long road ahead.

Team will be healthy come the new year and that’s when we’ll see who we are. For reference, the year that the Blues won the Cup, they were in last place in January. They found their identity in the new year and went on a massive run to make the playoffs and ultimately win the Cup. It’ll be fun to see what we look like when everyone is healthy.

Canes are going to have a chance to catch New Jersey over the next 10 games. Seven of the next ten games for the Devils are against the Ranger, Stars, Canes (x2), Bruins (x2), and Penguins… that’s a rough schedule for them.
-
That’s 7 straight games with a point. Final: CANES 3 - Fishermen 0 Goal 1 - Stastny (1) from Svechnikov (11) and Skjei (6) Goal 2 - Kotkaniemi (3) from Burns (16) and Necas (17) Goal 3 - Staal (7) from Martinook (7) and Noesen (9) Kochetkov - Shutout
-
Some big boy pull up your britches type poo from our guys tonight.

Stastny has been good tonight. Might be time to consider flip flopping him and Kotkaniemi.
