If we draft a QB, I want Carson Strong
MillionDollarCam replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
The pundits at the senior bowl certainly seemed the indicate that Willis has the best arm in the class. He’s not as accurate as the rest of the field on the intermediate throws but his deep ball is a thing of beauty. -

Not a fan of Strong because it’s tough to tell if he’s a system QB or he can actually read a defense. Nevada’s offense was tailored for Strong with a lot of quick reads and screen passes minimizing his lack of mobility. In the NFL that isn’t going to work. And for all the talk about his arm, he doesn’t even have the best arm in the class… that award goes to Malik Willis. If you are taking a QB at six you probably go Corral. If you are taking one in the middle of the first you probably go Howell. If you are in a position to draft for the future you take Willis whenever you feel comfortable. -
Good insight, I was wondering why he did that as well.

This just reads like the Panthers paying a little over what Luvu is worth in hopes that with an expanded role next year his contract will turn into a steal. Ultimately this deal will be judged on how Luvu develops in coverage because that’s what kept him off the field. His missed tackle percentage of 4% was fantastic but his pass coverage percentage of 100% wasn’t. Hopefully this means we are letting Carter walk, his play did not take off with the expanded role. Stanford is the only other linebacker (besides Reddick) that is not under contract for next year.

This is a solid deal if he’s a starter, not so much if he has the same role as last year.

Need some sort of shakeup. A trade or something. -

Felt that coming, Florida has been carrying play most of the game. Let’s get another point. -

TDA isn’t leaving, he loves Rod and Carolina. He’ll take a 3x$5 or something similar. -

Hanging tough right now, think I’ll hang around and watch Vegas/Colorado as well. -
Harrell is a +18… at halftime…

FT: Charlotte FC 0 - Columbus Crew 0 Much better performance today! We are still struggling to play out of the back a bit but things are coming along. Corujo, Walkes, and Sobocinksi all impressed on the back line and Ruiz and Franco were solid in the midfield. No one really impressed much up top, but Obertan did create a little magic in the final moments of the game. If we had a few DP level wingers we might be able to build something here. All things considered, I feel much better about this team today than I did a few days ago.

Looks like it could be a 4-4-2 GK - Kahlina RB - Lindsey (I expect him to push forward and create some chances) RCB - Corujo (He’s looked comfortable on the ball and is a heavy tackler) LCB - Makoun (First look at him) LB - Mora (Need a better game from him) CDM - Alcivar (I think he’ll be the holding midfielder) LCM - Hegardt (He’s been solid) RCM - Franco (He needs to create more chances) CAM/False 9 - Ortiz (He’s been our best player) LF - Gaines (I want to see him use his speed and get in behind) RF - Reyna (Excited to see what he can do in his first start) -
MAR… “Right Now, We Are Screwed”

Agree 100%, it’s caused me to temper expectations but I’m still excited for the season. I can’t say the same thing for the Panthers. -
Wow, good find by Joe. Glad this is a McAdoo decision. He’s getting that staff ready for his inevitable takeover in week 5.

Eli Apple vs. Matt Rhule is one of those feuds where I want both guys to lose… odds are that they both will as well. And regardless of how bad Apple is, he still has a better chance of sticking in the NFL than Rhule… that’s saying something.

It certainly is an out of left field hire but I think it could pay dividends. At the very least Dailey will be well liked and respected, hopefully that transitions to success for our WR’s.

I worked under Dailey as an intern in college for a few years. He’s a very intelligent coach, this is a good hire regardless of his lack of NFL experience. Mike Minter and UNC legend Carl Torbush were also on staff during my time under Dailey.
