  1. I mean I’d argue that he had one of the worst coaching staffs in all of power 5 football. When I was watching Willis (Liberty) play Tech, Barno stood out quite a bit (which he should against G5 players). He didn’t have the production that Marquise Haynes had in college but a lot of their flaws are similar… undersized, has no moves in package (only speed), non-factor in the run game, etc… Personally I attribute his “motor” issues to just being on a downright horrible VT team the past two years. I don’t think he was in a great situation to be developed. With his athleticism I think he gives Pasqualoni a lot to work with.
  2. So I’m not a huge fan of Corral but even I think this is a brutal write up. I also think his pocket awareness is better than people realize. He has the same trait that Willis and Howell have, in reality they are their teams’ offense and at times hold on to the ball way too long trying to create something when it’s not there. I think that has more to do with being young and not understanding the concept of living to fight another day rather than just taking the the easy way out and saying that he has poor pocket awareness. He is also nothing like Sam Darnold, Darnold can’t process a defense quick enough which has led to him being the worst passer in the NFL by a wide margin from a clean pocket. Some of Darnold’s best throws come on roll outs because it gives him time to scan the field and process what he is seeing. Corral on the other hand can process a defense quickly and even in a simplified offense he manages to complete some nice passes in tight coverage. I’m not exactly sure how you compare the worst QB in the NFL with a clean pocket to the best QB in the SEC with a clean pocket but I guess when your whole article trashes the kid you have to find stuff to make up. I think Corral faces an uphill battle because he’ll be learning a pro style offense (WCO) for the first time in his career and Lane Kiffin offenses are notoriously simple with intricate details mixed in (during Kiffin’s time at FAU they didn’t even have a physical playbook). With that said, I think all the talent is there to be a solid QB it’s just going to depend on how he is upstairs and that’s what separates decent QB’s from great QB’s. Absolute worst case scenario is that you have someone that you are comfortable with as a backup. Hopefully the kid puts it together. McAdoo has had some success mentoring QB’s so hopefully that continues.
  3. That could be but you don’t pass on a QB you like just because your current guy might hit in four years time. I’ll mention that it’s rare to not know what you have in a QB by the the end of their second year as a full time starter. The only current starting QB that fits into that narrative is Tannehill.
  4. 100% agree. It’s the most important position on the field so throw as many darts as needed to get it right.
  5. No idea why this concept is hard to grasp. If you are picking 1 or 2 next year then you are taking Young or Stroud… it doesn’t matter who your QB is because worse case scenario, you have a massive trade chip. Things get more interesting if you are in the 10-15 range where guys like Van Dyke and Armstrong might have value but you cross that bridge when you get to it.
  6. Why would you take out 2012, they made those picks. Just because the stats don’t fit an ahead doesn’t mean we can discredit them. And it might be possible that the Seahawks have a specific formula in place that they use when drafting players. After all, the three teams that are consistently listed as the three best drafting teams (Seahawks, Chiefs, and Packers) are once again topping the value chart for this year… it’s not just some dumb luck. Does luck play a part… sure… the right guys have to be there for your team to draft. But these three teams are too consistent to just right it off as dumb luck. Another common trait, all three of those teams drafted, developed a franchise QB, and won a Super Bowl that franchise QB.
  7. The usuals are up there (Packers, Chiefs, and Seahawks), quite odd to see us along with the Jets and Raiders up there.
  8. Statistically, the Seahawks have been the best drafting team since 2010…
  9. I mean if you draft well enough you are bound to develop a few for other teams… the important thing is that you are good enough drafting team that you can just replace those players with another draft pick. Fitterer did that with the Seahawks for multiple years. The notion that guys don’t want to play in Carolina is also BS. These are grown adults not children. They won’t to get paid and provide their families. It doesn’t matter if it’s in Charlotte or Vegas. The important thing is to have a GM that is a good drafter and he knows how to manage the cap. It appears that Fitterer knows how to do both.
  10. Carried all that play in the second half and would have had a draw if we didn’t poo all down our leg on that one set piece (corner).
  11. Miguel must here me… Jozwiak for Rios, Afful for Lindsey, and Ruiz for Franco.
  12. It’s not necessarily the quote for me but rather the person making it… so glad to not have Hurney doing these press conferences anymore.
  13. Fugging beautiful ball by Alcivar. Made something out of nothing, good take by Fuchs.
  14. If Franco has one more giveaway I’m storming the pitch.
  15. I’d switch the whole thing up next game… 4-3-3 Triangle GK - Kahlina LB - Mora LCB - Fuchs RCB - Corujo RB - Afful CDM - Alcivar CM - Ortiz CM - Ruiz LW - Bender ST - Swiderski RW - Jozwiak It’s a shame Armour and Hegardt got hurt. I’d love to have Hegardt at CDM and Armour at LB right now.
  16. Be glad you aren’t there. I decided to go by myself and I’ll probably have to Uber home… the last 30 minutes were depressing.
  17. First half thoughts: - I originally really liked Lindsey but the last few times that I’ve watched him, he’s really struggled. Benji Michel absolutely cooked him on Orlando’s goal. Additionally, Fuchs just isn’t a LB anymore, I’d prefer him at CB. - Corujo is a great CB and though I usually give Makoun poo, he saved a goal tonight. - Bronico seems like a nice guy but he’s invisible and with him being a CDM that’s not a good thing. He needs to truly be an extension of the back four… a Kellyn Acosta type player if you will. - I’m not sure what’s up with Franco but he just hasn’t impressed me at all this season. Not sure what is successful passing % is but imagine that it can’t be good. - Ortiz is playing the best game of his Charlotte career tonight, very active on both ends of the field. - Jordy Alcivar is probably my favorite player I just love the way he moves off the ball. - The Swiderski and Rios connection is no longer working. Teams have scouted us and are essentially shifting all focus to Swiderski which forces him to drop down into the midfield to receive a pass. Every time Swiderski drops he leaves Rios on an island and Rios is not prime Altidore, he’s not scoring by himself. - I was originally ecstatic with the start as I was happy with our press and I thought that the inswinging balls from outside backs were really dangerous. Now we are playing to slow again and getting no service. - The goal we gave up off of our own corner was atrocious. I mean this is JV poo… if you send your CB’s up for the corner under no circumstance should both your outside backs and CDM also be that far forward. Just all around poo communication by Lindsey and Bronico.
  18. They absolutely poo’d on Fitterer and the Hawks when they drafted Wilson, Wagner, and Irvin. I feel comfortable with what Fitterer does regardless of if we are given an A or an F.
  19. Just some names… QB - Carson Strong QB - Aqeel Glass QB/WR - D’Eriq King RB - Bam Knight RB - Max Borghi WR - Kevin Austin Jr. WR - Tre Turner WR - Charleston Rambo WR - Justyn Ross WR - Isaiah Weston TE - Peyton Hendershot TE - Chase Allen OT - Kellen Diesch G - Bill Dunkle C - Ben Brown C - Alec Lindstrom C - Dohnovan West DE - Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa DT - Jayden Peevy DT - Noah Elliss LB - Aaron Hansford LB - Jeremiah Gemmel LB - Mike Rose LB - JoJo Domann CB - Josh Thompson CB - Isaac Taylor-Stuart CB - Kyler McMichael CB - Sam Webb S - Markquese Bell S- Smoke Monday K - Nick Sciba
  20. Looks like they don’t plan to use him as a returner.
  21. Looks like his best year came in 2019… when Rhule was his coach. Was also a WR before transitioning to a full time corner. Odd that he’s never returned kicks or punts, only special teams snaps appear to have come as a gunner.
  22. So apparently no experience returning kicks or punts but has been a gunner.
