Your Feelings on Bryce Through 3 Seasons? (POLL)
carolinanimal replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
these are the plays that make the difference. him being late on that throw caused that because of bad footwork. -
I wouldn't be mad if they let Rico walk

clearly??? has etienne even played enough to determine that? -
As someone who has not liked Bryce throughout the season…

honestly i am more concerned about that defense at the end. we just kept giving up chunk plays. i would be super aggressive there. a turnover wins the game. if they get a td you still have plenty of time on the clock. and you have the opportunity to tie or win . made no sense -

i think he will have to throw early on those slants and digs and inbreaking passes. and put mustard on them. he cant float them like he does now. -

i am going to wait until the all 22 comes out before i make judgement. sometimes on tv we think that that only routes we see are the ones he called, but it can also be that bryce just didnt throw them. Kurt warners breakdown of bryce shows that he leaves some plays on the field. he is most comfortable to the boundaries and outside the numbers not in the middle of the field. -
they are rookies, calm down! they will make mistakes. overall the draft class was good

That will never not be funny

S Fowler Coker in, Legette out as wr2
carolinanimal replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Whose gonna see over the oline to see him? . That we would have to be Shaq Seriously though, I think we need a playmaking TE. And a QB willing to throw the slant, post and dig -

we really dont throw those routes very often. if you look at most of BY throws they are underneath or to the boundaries. -
Which is probably why we don't run much of those. The we would have to either wait on the ball or it's overthrown because he has to throw early to get it to the spot. I think Kurt warners film breakdown really showed that there are bigger plays to be had and he doesn't take them. Either because he isn't comfortable or physically can't. Either way it is handicapping the offense

Exactly. Our QB just doesn't throw down the field consistently. If he does throw it's to the outside and the boundaries and a moon ball. He doesn't have the velocity to hit the deeper stuff on a line or the second hole on cover 2.

The problem is that his improvement is from god awful to just awful. After 3 years. I don't think his footwork is going to get better either. Kurt pointed out the hopping and his feet being to close MULTIPLE times. It's something that he does, including with the fact he doesn't like to throw over the middle of the field

Bryce Young is the worst QB in Panthers History

What your going to find is exactly what the commentators said yesterday. He isn't comfortable throwing over the middle of the field. J stew said on his podcast, you have to be able to attack the middle of the field or it's hard to win games. Think about that does to an offense that can't attack the middle of the field. It cuts off 1/3 of the routes that we and tes run. Now on top of that add bad footwork and floating passes and you get what we have -
I think Horn would be great in those middle of the field routes. He is quick, but that would require your QB to throw passes in the middle of the field and actually see them. Even the commentators on the game noticed Bryce doesn't throw to the middle of the field.

What's crazy is that there are still people saying "he's making progress"" This is year 3 and his footwork is still bad!

The question is does Bryce skillset fit the NFL? -
Lowest Yards Per Completion...All Time.
carolinanimal replied to SetfreexX's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think the main issue with us with Bryce is that we can't control or attack the middle of the field with him. He doesn't have the zip or we don't have the players to attack or threaten the middle of the field. -
For a #1 overall pick after 3 years , he should be at least in the continent close to him He isn't even in the same solar system as Josh Allen. Again this is his 3rd year. People are so scared to start over at QB that we will take this crap from him.
-
i dont think so,. i think what he is doing is giving bryce what he feels comfortable throwing. this is the result. sometimes you can luck up and get away with it. other times teams beat it. i dont know any magical plays that would make BY play better where he wouldnt have to do the same stuff on each play, climb the pocket, go through progresssions ets.

just looking at some of his throws he made, i know for certian he could not be a backup here. the contrast would be to stark

Bryce is elite at [PFF designated "big time"] throws
carolinanimal replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
people dont understand what this does to an offense. it eliminates most of the inbreaking routes on a wr route tree. if you look at most of his throws, they are comebacks, throws to the boundaries, checkdowns. Low risk throws that he can zip in the 10-15 yard range. That limits your offense. as much as people hate XL, i think he could be useful on certian routes. but thats not the type of routes Bryce is comfortable with, the slants and posts. even Jimmy Horn could be used on some of them because of how twitchy he is but those passes would come in the middle of the field where you cant float the ball but have to drive it. -

No ones comes into a game with the Panthers thinking they have to stop the deep ball and bryce young. in fact it is quite the opposite, they want to shut down the run and and either be in single high safety or sit in zone.
