  1. There's a decent chance James Morgan is better than PJ Walker. 4th rounder, doesn't sound that bad either. He should know the playbook alright by now, I'd give him a shot. PJ looks plain old awful. And a shrimp at that. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/james-morgan/32004d4f-5216-3437-2fdf-965084d7442b
  2. I don't mind him either. My thought is if he looks legit to the scouts, he'll be the top pick so would be the one out of reach in our purgatory zone.
  3. Remember that game where we still had Weinke and he had to be relief for Delhomme. We ran like 90% of the game. Maybe go that route for the rest of the year lol
  4. Yep. Next year cannot in any way be a reclamation project QB and I'm not seeing Wilson, Watson, or Rodgers happening. And I doubt Tepper wants ANOTHER experiment QB as well. All potential vet FAs are unremarkable. So, yep, they're going to have to take a stab at this upcoming QB class; as questionable as many may seem to think it is. And we're looking at the 2nd-4th guy off the board. We may have to start convincing ourselves one of Pickett/Corral/Ridder/Strong/Howell could be good haha
  5. I agree to an extent. They kid gloves'd him hard after the Giants loss. But to this degree is definitely not sustainable, as it straps us from being able to make big plays that can win games against higher scoring offenses. If they are really thinking playoffs this season (which I don't see happening), we may need to give Morgan a go or find another guy out there somehow at QB (Not named Cam or Deshaun) It could get very boring and ugly from here on out looking at a 7-10 type situation and still no QB. Purgatory.
  6. PJ is 3-15 for 33 yards. NE better watch out for the juggernaut if Sam can't go.
  7. Agree to disagree. I don’t mind letting the run game lead the way one bit but you have to take the opportunities that come. If you don’t, the drives still stall out and all you get are FGs
  8. That’s not my point. It’s not commitment to the run, it’s situational playcalling and not taking advantage of opportunities. We still manage to call long PAs with Darnold on 1st and 3rd but we’re trying to secure first downs instead of calling plays with some finesse.
  9. Yeah opting for the first down is what I’m saying is the issue. You’re eliminating the chance for a misdirect, pa bomb, etc. You just don’t see that type of calls looking around the league. It’s more than just being conservative, he’s thinking within each 4 down series and not the sequence/rhythm of the drive
  10. Something that’s been happening all season and already 4 times today is getting a 2nd and 2 (or less) We keep going fast sneaking Sam, running a dive, etc to assure a first. These scenarios are the most ideal to be gifted as you can do that on 3rd. You’ve given your offense the shot to run a play action or go for a long pass. Those are often the big play downs. This is a huge issue that Brady is not correcting. He’s looking within each 4 down window and not the bigger picture. A huge problem in my opinion he needs to correct.
  11. Moving the ball but I hate we don’t take advantage of 2nd and shorts. Prime position for long play actions.
  12. Yeah, I see this happening if we can't move him. He's not a part of the rebuild picture. All Scott & Rhule have known him for is being injured. He comes from the Rivera-Hurney regime and I only see them really coveting Moton, DJ & Burns from that squad. Carter, Zylstra & Bonnafon have somehow survived, not many others. I just hope Fit has his finger on things and pushes Rhule in the right direction for acquisitions. It's clear they're both going to be making decisions together. I just hope Scott takes a bit more of a driver's seat rather than a tandem GM thing I feel it is.
  13. There's very few active, non-retread NFL QBs that I'd be game for acquiring to potentially start. I fully expect us to draft Willis, Corral, Pickett, Howell, Ridder or Strong. Then we target a "starter if the rookie isn't ready" type that's not Darnold (Could still be Darnold) There's a nice and ugly list of potential guys that are realistic (Rogers and Wilson aren't coming here): Mariota (2022 FA, Retread, Pass) Trubiski (2022 FA, Retread, Pass) Nick Foles (2022 FA, Retread X3, Pass) Jameis Winston (2022 FA, meh) CJ Beathard (Contracted 2022, maybe) Andy Dalton (No, Hard Pass) Drew Lock (Contracted 2022, maybe, but retread like Darnold) Kirk Cousins (If they don't land a playoff win, I could see them getting anxious) Tua Tag (Unproven, injury prone and a bit bland)
  14. 24-13 Atlanta We hold them in check but the Falcons get a defensive/ST score. Darnold's line is something like 15-28, 190 yards, 0 td, 2 ints Could see Hubbard having a 100+1 td game.
  15. Looking at him with the Pats, he still was having his same post-Watt issues and not running as much. If he was still a running QB then yeah but meh. I’m good tanking with Darnish
  16. Important: did Rhule say it or did the team officially report? If Rhule, this could mean Gilmore is released tomorrow.
  17. Not going to try to interpret the first post. We currently don’t have any primo leaders and have a suspect coach. Compared to our other eras which did (mostly) Ron was running a Ron team with Cam peaking and we won because of that coming together at the right time. Those two aren’t really interlocked. This thread confuses
  18. Nevada has advanced, NFL-level passes in its offense and Strong just has such a pretty deep ball. He does so much well IMO and is excelling in one of the more advanced college systems. The knees worry me, but if you're looking at a pure QB mechanics+deep ball+accuracy blend, he's got the best combo of them all in the class. In general, I won't forget how guys like Herbert, Mahomes, Murray, Cam, and a few others were looked at prospect wise versus Gabbert, Locker, Trubiski, etc. I will refuse to generalize this class as bad. The potential is through the roof and I gotta imagine 1-3 will be hits.
  19. I'm beginning to prefer taking a chance on Corral or Pickett instead of tossing away so much for this circus (regardless if he comes out unscathed). The FBI has been involved since August and nothing seems to really be moving with it right now. I can't even imagine the post-trade pressers if it happens. Tepper, Rhule & Fit trying to justify it all amid pending investigations. It would just all be so strange.
  20. Bouye has been great and I like him for us. Donte before overpaying would be smart. Chinn, Bouye & Taylor have been the glue for us in the secondary.
  21. Always funny how old names pop up while others go quiet...
