  1. I actually think he's a great part of the team. But when Chinn is inside the box, we need someone back with Burris. That could be a McCain. Unsure who really fits that bill currently on the team. Hartsfield? Franklin?
  2. For some reason thought he was older than 27. This could be an interesting guy to target.
  3. Exactly. If he runs to the flat from the gun, he instantly pulls a linebacker. We're going to be able to do a lot this year with the revamped offense around CMC & DJ.
  4. Yep, Eric Rowe could be next. They've added Holland next to Reshad Jones and had 7 safeties rostered. Totally worth checking out. This is truly a cap casualty.
  5. I don't know; his route running, first step, and contested catch abilities are hard to ignore. Our 3rd receiver last year got 77 catches. Even if Marshall isn't the set 3rd option going into the year, the Brady's offense will allow him to get some balls, and quite a good amount.
  6. I believe there is a legitimate reason to be excited for Darnold in Joe Brady's offense. With how the offense is structured, I look at the Bridgewater and Burrow stuff w/Brady and see Darnold way more on the Burrow side of things with his tendencies and ability to extend plays.
  7. I just want to take a look specifically at Joe Brady's tendencies and who could be out there this coming season in his spread packages. A few points--He likes to take linebackers out of the box by using CMC/RBs to open up the middle of the field. Thing was, with CMC out a lot, it wasn't used to it's full effect. He's as good as a weapon as a diversion. Thing is, with his offense, we need downfield threats, blocking types, and players with high in-play awareness to carve space for bigger gains. This is where the signings of Arnold and Tremble come into the equation. From last year: Brady's Trips packages He likes his trips packages with CMC diverting a LB to the flat on the weakside of the field. This opens up the middle. These plays can happen quick depending on the reads and there were two big issues: Teddy would often make a quick safe decision even in a good pocket and Ian Thomas gave up on plays after he "ran" his routes. And honestly, Manhertz wasn't always this superb blocker and never a serious threat to actually be a target on the play. Sometimes giving it to CMC works out just fine: But again, trips package, quick developing play. Let's say that pass wasn't there for CMC, we have Darnold who likes being aggressive. So now, take Tremble into the equation here, where we may make it a 6 man line instead of pulling the TE deep. We now have an aggressive QB who can step into the throw and target a guy like Marshall downfield. Which is actually what Burrow did a TON with Brady & Marshall as seen in the highlight video below. Just look at his quick cuts, turning CBs hips. Quick slants, downfield contested, etc. Also watch how Burrow moves in the pocket while looking downfield. This is actually what you see a lot in Darnold's vids. Thing is, the Jets line was worse than ours and he had no receivers. On our end, Teddy was often just checking it to the safe bet way earlier than needed, not truly extending the plays. Elsewhere, let's go full spread offense here where we stretch the defense out: First one--TB made a quick easy throw when he had good protection here/something more could've developed. These type of packages with a downfield target that wins contested balls (Marshall), a legit balanced TE in Arnold and a blocking one in Tremble are absolutely ideal. They will make the offense more potent, more potential for bigger plays. I'm not some football guru from a playbook standpoint so pardon my lingo and if I'm not speaking entirely football language but looking at the packages we run, Tremble, Arnold, Marshall, and dare I say even David Moore with how much we spread it out could be super beneficial to this team. Adding their blocking and downfield abilities in with the slants and shallow crosses we run that open up the field will be huge. They can help take those plays that Teddy was either too safe/impatient with or where the defense closed in fast after we open the middle and make this offense superbly improved. I can see play actions being more effective, having CMC back will allow for better ability to spread a defense thin, and Darnold's aggressiveness could take this up a notch. Cheers. --credit to this article analyzing his offense for the gifs: https://weeklyspiral.medium.com/nfl-film-breakdown-how-panthers-oc-joe-bradys-offense-uses-spread-concepts-to-beat-defenses-689257936eca
  8. If this kid starts dropping wins w/300 yard+ 2TD+ games for us, we could be in for a show. Tampa's defense could be hard to go against but both ATL and NO are young and nothing special. I expect Brady to approach things a bit more seasoned, may refine his approach w/ 2nd year adjustments. And consider an improved OL, CMC-Hubbard, Moore-Robbie-Marshall, & Arnold-Tremble in his spread, we could see a lot of really cool sh*t going on.
  9. This vid is specifically dedicated to Marshall
  10. I think both Horn and Marshall have all-pro/star ceilings. Christensen's ceiling being a rock solid, 7-9 year starter (being a bit older) Daviyon is a mega steal in my book. Excited for Hubbard & Tremble (especially) as well. Cap on two legit OG prospects in Deonte & Moore. Such a f*cking solid class. But back to Marshall: My 2 favorite aspects that tend to come out a lot of these LSU guys is in game quickness and aggressiveness/magnetism towards the ball once thrown. Landry and Odell were awesome at this, Jefferson as well. They just naturally adjust like magnets and go for the ball, don't let it fall into their hands. Shi Smith is also excellent at this so I'm just excited all around.
  11. Terrace Marshall Jr. He really thinks we found someone special. First one mentioned in the video so you only need to watch until the 4:15 mark
  12. He gone. I mean Daley beat him out healthy. He will not be on the 2021 team.
  13. Damn Josh Norris absolutely nailed it.
  14. The overall takeaway whether this is true or not is that it sounds like they got the tier 2 LT we were targeting and the WR Brady wanted. I would’ve loved to see our board for that second group of OL after Darrisaw. Christensen, Jenkins, Leatherwood, Eichenberg, Cosmi, Mayfield, Radunz. Wonder who was at the top.
  15. Sorry if a repost but the more I read and watch, I have no idea how he slipped between the cracks to the 6th freaking round. He's a monster. Like, he's definitely ahead of Roy and could get solid playing time w/Daquan & Brown. I mean wow. He's one of the more athletic & agile 3-Techs I've seen and just downright violent on the field.
  16. Seems with the board upgrade editing is now limited. You can for a minute or so right after you post but then it's non-editable.
  17. This would make things feel very complete this offseason and would much prefer this over the Erving vs. Christensen vs. Scott training camp battle. Erving (G/T) and Elflein (C/G) could assume their spots as swing linemen backups, Christensen starts at LG, Scott becomes the backup LT, we release Little. Leno-Christensen-Paradis-Miller-Moton Do it
  18. I kind of love how Grier seems so tight with everyone. I would prefer not to see him in a regular season game again but he seems like a fun dude to have on the squad.
  19. Shi Smith and David Moore make it 5. The 6 spot will come down to Zylstra v Bayless v Kirkwood I’d like to see Bayless make the team but we’ll see!
  20. Shi Smith! Moore-Anderson-Mitchell-Moore-Smith is my hope for the 6 pack WR group with Bayless, Kirkwood & Zylstra fight for the final spot.
  21. Ha thanks, I mean I flubbed some grammar/it's just a message board, but I was like uhhhhhh lol
  22. I feel like both John Miller and Juston Burris were quite overlooked by the fans but were pretty damn good at times. Not world beaters but I just don't see them really talked of much. Otherwise I would say the entire draft class minus Thomas-Oliver. Also add on Carter Jr. fighting his way through the doghouse and into Rhule's favor.
  23. That's pretty awesome. Also--good thread OP. Does anyone know why Nixon fell so much further than expected? I'm not seeing anything wrong with the dude.
