  1. I just think Darnold is downright bad. Sure, the NYJ weren't putting him in an ideal spot but you should still expect him to do more and flash a bit. He's looked bad. Like Nate Sudfeld bad.
  2. For me, if Trey Lance is available/in reach, you take him. The Minshew thing basically gives us a starter for 2022 and if he looks good, then we have tremendous value at the QB position which is preferable. I'd rather gamble two fold this year if we can. Their contracts combined make up for the difference in dead cap for teddy v. relief so it offsets.
  3. I respect this point but I also think TB is gone. Nothing can change it at this point. It' a carry for 2022 with the cap situation so we basically have the option: similar bridge (or) deal with him again. I say roll the dice and tell him adios.
  4. It's 15 dead cap post-J1, 23 in savings, net 8 mil for 2022. Sure, can't use 15 of it, but that's either going to TB or we're taking 8 of that towards useful cap. I take the latter if we land a QB in the draft.
  5. I knew this would be the iffy thing about my scenario here. I dunno though, Teddy post J1 is a 23 mil cap saving with a 2022 dead hit of $15 mil. If we land our rookie QB this year, that's basically $5.5 mil to work with elsewhere factoring in the rookie contract. I'd rather gamble than waste year 2 with that guy.
  6. For me, I see a starter in Minshew and a backup in Teddy. The J1 cut will still net savings and taking on a late-rookie contract for like a 5th+6th would offset. I just think we're done with TB. Once we officially can't move him, he's a cut and signed as a backup somewhere.
  7. This is a combo of my best predictions & ideal remaining offseason: Moves: Panthers cut Teddy, June 1 designation Panthers trade for Gardner Minshew Jimmy G back to the Pats Teddy is a Texan! Draft: 1.1 JAX: Trevor Lawrence QB JAX Done deal. 1.2 NYJ: Zach Wilson QB BYU I can see us trying to trade up but nothing materializing. That’s okay by me. Wilson goes to New York. 1.3 SF: Mac Jones QB Alabama Rumors ring true. 1.4 ATL: Justin Fields QB OSU Arthur Smith gets his QB to groom behind Ryan. I find it hard that they would take Lance over Fields but this could go either way. Just feel Fields is a step ahead here. 1.5 CIN: Ja’marr Chase WR LSU The Bengals suddenly become a super potent offense. Chase+Boyd+Mixon is pretty nice with Burrow. 1.6 MIA: Kyle Pitts TE/WR Florida Miami has their LT in Jackson. And honestly, I think Pitts is the perfect prospect to help get Tua more comfortable and play a bit more aggressively. This is a great fit and he’s IMO why they traded back up. 1.7 CAR (from DET): Trey Lance QB NDSU This trade up may seem odd but it is strictly to avoid the Broncos, Patriots, or other team trading up to grab Lance and it would show we sought this out/want him as our guy. I feel ATL, CIN, & MIA will be dead set and this will not take a ton of capital. Maybe our 4th & DET still gets the guy they’re targeting. 1.8 DET (from CAR) Penei Sewell LT Oregon -- Now the rest; here’s my top draft targets (not necessarily by rounds): Sam Cosmi LT Texas He’s an NFL sized-LT. Great natural athleticism. He could be a very nice option in R2 or a slight trade up. Trey Smith G/T Tennessee He’s a beast at guard, capable on the outside at RT, long shot at LT. Amari Rogers WR Clemson Think early Cobb-esque, would work really well in Brady’s offense Trey Sermon RB OSU CMC has plenty of road ahead but I’d like to grab someone with more gravitas and star potential than Bonnafon. Evan McPherson K Florida Let’s get a kicker for realz. ROSTER (MOSTLY): OFFENSE QB: Gardner Minshew, Trey Lance (Jers #14), PJ Walker RB: Christian McCaffrey, Trey Sermon, Reggie Bonnafon WR: DJ Moore, Robby Anderson, David Moore, Amari Rogers, Omar Bayless, Brandon Zylstra TE: Dan Arnold, Colin Thompson, Tommy Stevens OL: Cosmi-Daley-Paradis-Miller-Moton (Scott, Smith, Elf, Erving) DEFENSE (ordered in playing time/rotation, respective of the 3-5 & Nickel) IDL: Brown, Fox, Roy ODL/EDGE: Burns, Reddick, YGM, Haynes, Miller LB: Shaq, Perryman, Carter, Luvu DB: Chinn, Burris, Donte, Pride, Melvin, Elder, Hartsfield, Franklin, Robinson ST K: Evan McPherson (Slye out?) P: Charlton This leaves us with a 10-7-esque ceiling (yes, 17 games now) with 2 potential QBs, and some OL+DB+LB needs for 2022. I dunno, this is my one and final "mock" or whatever you call it. But not being strictly draft, figured to share my BS. Adios.
  8. The first, second, third or fourth potential time that was rumored? hehe
  9. I mean, he's always trying to push it and maximize plays. I personally love Fields. He should be our target if the ATL pick goes Lance (or) no-QB. Could be at 8, could be a trade up.
  10. Instant pie for linking ThatsGoodSports. One of the better nfl channels on yt.
  11. I have to think that we've at least called the NYJ. They were likely waiting for Wilson's pro day and aren't budging. Still firmly believe Fields will be the one either in reach or there for us to take.
  12. I have a weird suspicion that sax is secretly legit and someone in the know that just f*cks with the board lol.
  13. He's a hell, and I mean one hell of a man. But he's just not our QB. I'm not calling him a "beta" or whatever these kids are calling it these days. But being a survivor of some pretty hard sh*t in my life, I have a hard time even disclosing anonymously, that he just doesn't have "it". And the way he reacted to losses made me strongly dislike him.
  14. Seriously, there's something weird about Teddy that makes me dislike him more than the Clausen and Hackenburgs of the world. He seems like such a great dude but holy hell, get off our football team.
  15. I'll preface this by saying this is not a usual thread for me and that there are only 11 QBs worth a sh*t in the league right meow. -- And I'm trying to not be reactive to the SF/PHI/MIA moves. I'm not going to be sporadic in the QB draft prospect rankings. What I will be is absolutely certain about is what we cannot do: Teddy Bridgewater This is not intended to be mean spirited. This is not intending to be character based. This is strictly base around his inability to produce. Produce excitement, produce game winning drives, throws downfield, produce WINS. I honestly give zero sh*ts about stats. We've been at the precipice of being a perennial powerhouse with 2 cores in our history: Gross-Peppers-Rucker-Jenkins-Jake-Double Trouble-Smitty-Minter (We were dirty, if only we had better than Jake) Luke-Cam-TD-Olsen-Index Card Massage IOUs -- Now, we sit with CMC, DJ, Burns, Brown, Chinn...some DAMN good dudes. The question is QB. And honestly, I don't believe we need an answer at this very instant. We simply need to try the next option because TB is going nowhere. That is the crux of what I'm saying. Try someone new, see if it works. I don't care who tf it is: Justin Fields Trey Lance Kellen Mond Sam Darnold Gardner Mishnew Nick Mullens Drew Lock Jake f*cking Rudock -- We've experienced Jeff Lewis, Chris Weinke, Brian St. Pierre, Pickles, a 43 YO Testeverde, I mean, just get something in here that has potential. There is no excuse to bring back Teddy. It should never be a point mentioned ever again. If we go back to him, it's like hooking up with a consistent squeeze you were never really into but found yourself in a mini rut. DO NOT go back. Release and take a chance on another rando. At the best, we find ourselves in a Tommy Maddox, Delhomme, Romo, No Teddy. No Teddy. Signed, Dickhead
  16. A selfish bump because yes, I still feel like this is the guy. Something is just telling me Fields is in a Panthers jersey.
  17. I was coming in to make that point. The high upside/may not be NFL ready types are the ones that become the unstoppable ones. Maybe, just maybe, we end up with Trey Lance at 5 or 8, ditch Bridgewater and have some dude that can net us a solid 4-12 run the show in 2022. Then, we have a QB, get another high pick, and see if we can make a run 2023-2030.
  18. If you can't sense the sarcasm, I don't know what to tell you
  19. At this point, it's #1 or #5. JAX gets: 2021 1st-4th rounders, 2022 1st+2nd, 2023 1st, 2024 1st Panthers get: Trevor Lawrence -- or... Bengals get: #8 and 2023's 1st Panthers get: Fields(or)Lance at #5 or...
  20. Yep. #5 is the only option or we don't go QB. You don't wait for a QB to fall this year. Even though it's just 2 spots, I think we just toss Cinci our 1st next year and call it a QB.
