Panthers Practice August 12: Compliment Sandwich Edition
Castavar replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not only that, if you ARE going to be that frail and low weight, you gotta have some burners. You can't be letting DT's and DE's run you down, which we saw all last year. Like you said, there's no damn way NFL scouts saw Bryce in person and said "yeah, his size won't be a problem at all". There's just no way. Reich was known to ALWAYS go with bigger QBs, and you mean to tell me at this point of his career he just did a 180 and went with Bryce? Yeah right, people and the media can try to BS me all they want, I refuse to believe teams had Bryce #1 on their draft boards after meeting with him and seeing how small he was. -

Yep. It's why players like Josh Allen can come from a college like Wyoming and have so much potential. Same thing with Patrick Mahomes and Texas Tech. You have to look the part first, then decide whether his style of play can translate into the NFL. Once I saw the tape of Bryce vs Texas and LSU, I was out on him because those games simulated how NFL pressure will be ALL THE TIME, and he failed the test. I can count on one hand the amount of successful QBs under 6'0 in the history of the NFL, and we bet the house on that lol -

He seems like a very smart young man. I think he's come to the realization that he is indeed too small to be a QB in the NFL. Couple that with a weak arm and his confidence is shattered. He can't make the plays he used to in college because everybody is faster, smarter, bigger, and stronger in the NFL. I think he's starting to doubt his own ability. This Jets joint practice will say a lot. -

It's not even about getting in people's faces, but rather DEMANDING perfection. You don't have to act all big and bad. Yes, he is small, but Drew Brees had no problem chewing people out for not being in the right spot, or for lackluster play, or missing assignments on offense, etc. He would cuss your ass out even though all of them could whoop his ass. There's all kinds of ways to be a leader. You can even fake it like Russell Wilson did. But nobody is going to go to war with you if they look over at their QB1 and he's just going with the flow, sitting back and not being vocal. -

I just don't see the leadership in Bryce. You think Cam (yes I always compare Bryce to Cam because Cam was a REAL leader) wouldn't be chewing this offense out if we continued looking like this? He would be in people faces or fighting the defense because he was a true alpha. He wouldn't stand by and let this offense be THIS bad. A true alpha, a true leader. Bryce has to figure something out, or fake it. This is YOUR team bro. YOU were drafted #1, take the reigns man. Get loud, chew some asses out, let it be known that this is unacceptable.....SOMETHING! Oh yeah, I'm excited for this defense this year. Evero is the ONLY thing about this team that I am confident in. He has done more with less for a long time now, dating back to his Broncos days. I actually like the players we brought in on defense. Clowney is going to be a DAWG, and I like all the new CBs. ALL of them were playing sound football against the Pats. Just sucks we are going to waste it with a historically bad offense. -

We just saw Jayden Daniels make this exact pass in his first game down the sidelines for a big completion. Bryce has shown time and time again his deep ball is non existent. Worst deep ball thrower in the league. -
I feel like Bryce worked on nothing over the offseason lol
-
Yeah no sh*t. Anybody with a fuggin brain could see we needed an actual center either from FA or the draft. JPJ was right there for the taking in the 2nd, yet we went with a devalued position that won't even be able to play until a month into the season. And then people wonder why we continue to be the worst team in the league.
-
Watching everybody else's preseason games has shown me that we are still the worst ran franchise by far.
-
Just got done from running outside. It is straight SCORCHING today. I got cooked. They gotta practice during the hottest part of the day in pads lmao Good luck fellas
-
On point. Look how many DAWGS we had on that superbowl team. Cam, Luke, TD, Norman, Stewart, Olsen, Kalil, Norwell, Short. Dudes that wouldn't settle for sh*t like this. You think Cam would have allowed seeing his WR's smiling after dropping two passes? HELL NO. Like seriously, who are the dogs on this team? I can think of maybe two......Shaq and Derrick Brown. That's literally it. Tepper created this atmosphere. He came in and instantly neutered the attitude this franchise used to represent. I remember a time when we were like on our 5th RB with Nick Goings and STILL competing. Still trying and giving a damn. Fighting. Showing heart. I also think that was the year we started 1-7 and STILL almost rallied back to make the postseason, with injuries EVERYWHERE that year. That's all we want to see, not two sorry ass WRs laughing on the sideline because they dropped two passes. Dude's who were both drafted in the 2nd round mind you. Tepper has officially put his "stamp" on the football side of things. This team has taken on his image and attitude. All the way from the GM to the players.

Penix looking decent as well. All these team's offenses look NFL like. Must be nice
-
Already threw a TD to Tank Dell lol Almost forgot what a TD looked like
-
That is what you call potential. Making something out of nothing is what the best QBs in the league do. Not saying Milton will become anything like that, but the potential is evident. Legit looked like Cam on that scramble
-
I wonder if Bryce could do that lol yeah right
-
The most Panther stat if I ever saw one
-
Defense fundamentals = Good Offense fundamentals
-
What's the common denominator fellas?

Been really impressed with our corners tbh.
