I think most of us doesn’t look at Reich as a cast off coach, but a good coach that was let go by a crazy owner despite success.
-
I wonder if this is just pure speculation or not. We’ve been sooo good avoiding leaks in our coaching search so it seems like we would not let this get out. Smokescreen lol

If we are going to do it, might as well get it done before free agency. Then we can set up free agency to cover for lost draft picks. I wonder if we have a cut off for when we pull out. I would do a “offer is in the table until xy date”. Will be interesting to follow.

The QB School : Breaking down AR and Levis
Martin replied to Your GFs favorite huddler's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’m hoping one of the QB needy teams before us sign him. Would be perfect for a team like the Texans. Then they can focus on building their D-Line which is the 49er model driving a lot of Ryan’s success. -
The QB School : Breaking down AR and Levis

Well said, this is my exact concern with him as well. -
In a perfect world you trade for the number 1 pick before free agency starts. Then you know exactly what you have and how to set up free agency. I’d offer three first round picks and give them a week to respond. Then we still have two second rounders and one third rounder this year to surround the rookie QB with additional weapons. There is no way that happens, but that’s how I would do it if possible.

The QB School : Breaking down AR and Levis

One big difference is that AR is young and only has one year of experience. He has a lot of growth yet to come. Doesn’t mean he will be great, but he could be. -
Which draft day trades would you be okay with?
Martin replied to Evil Hurney's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don’t want to trade pick 40 this year. Need that one to get some additional help for the QB. -
I’m surprised you don’t like the hire. You seem like a positive, upbeat and fun guy.

This was great to hear. He is a smart guy and he is learning.

Earl Grey is the king of teas.

Ideal scenario and an extremely stressful draft night

This would make Arizona the trade partner to get ahead of Indy. However, depending on who is left, Seahawks might still be the spot.

I wonder if people got a bit scared from the 49ers vastly overpaying for Lance. I don’t think Bears will get as much as in the past, but maybe I’m just overly optimistic. Will be interesting to see, no doubt.

Now that we have a coach who can develop a young QB I can see us trading up with the Bears for the first pick in the draft. How much would it cost? Our first rounder this year and the following two years? 1st and 3rd this year and next year? I’d really want to hold in to our high second rounder this year to get a new QB some help.

One of my favorite things on this board, random “facts” people just throw out there

Agree on your comment on Steichen, making sure he is surrounded by experience is key. I would push for the same thing.
-
I agree with John on this one, would love to see Reich, think he would put together a very strong staff and he could develop a rookie QB. The QBs he had to work with in Indy…
-
I agree with this, I just feel there are good coaches available this hiring cycle that would cost nothing.
-
I think I would rather use those picks to move up for a quarterback in the draft. Not a fan of paying for a coach.

Graziano: Fangio leading DC Candidate in Carolina for Young HC
Martin replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’m at the point where I don’t really care as long as Fangio is the DC -
It is interesting as he wants to minimize the loss of draft picks for his own sake.
-
This is not going to happen, but what if he could avoid Texans and Colts, let them draft a QB, and then enter the supplemental draft and get picked by a much better team

Panthers receive permission to interview Sean Payton
Martin replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Is the Tepper not easy to work with a real thing or something made up on these boards? It seems to me like he gives his football people plenty of room to work.
