  1. Insert complaint about winning the Washington game here.
  2. Albert Breer's latest mailbag has some info relevant to this question. First off, Breer says any team wanting Garoppolo is going to need to offer the 49ers a first round pick (not up for that). Regarding the Panthers, Breer seems to lend some credence to the notion that the Panthers don't necessarily "love" all of the quarterbacks in the "top four". Quoting: The one thing I would caution anyone from doing here, though, is assuming that the top five quarterbacks are all seen as worthy of a top-10 pick by every team. It doesn’t work that way. He believes we would trade up to five if someone we did love fell out, but also points out that the Bengals are in position to demand a high price in return. Failing that, Breer definitely believes that trading for Sam Darnold is possible, and even seems to think it might be a good idea.

  4. Breer still thinks they take a quarterback, or trade the pick to someone else who does (not likely to be us).
  5. From Albert Breer's latest mailbag... From Shedrick Carter (@shedrickcarter2): Draft looks set with 3 quarterbacks going 1-2-3. So the draft pretty much starts at 4. Do you see Atlanta going QB or best player available (Pitts)? Shedrick, it seems likely to me that the Falcons will either take a quarterback or move the pick to a team that will.
  6. Understood. Fitterer has mentioned being a proponent of the "get a quarterback every year" philosophy, though of course that doesn't always mean drafting one.
  7. I don't want Atlanta doing smart things.
  8. Klein expands on his prior tweet... Anyone else have Slater or Surtain over Sewell right now?
  9. Just to make sure I'm understanding you here, you would take Sewell over Fields and Lance?
  10. Hard to imagine that unless we believed there was no way we could keep Moton.
  11. Regarding Pitts, but could apply here too...
  12. That's what everybody expected, but there's lots of talk now it could go another way. (no way I'd bypass Sewell if I were them, but I'm not them)
  13. Just using Denver as an example. Heck, people have even suggested the Patriots might trade up. That sounds crazy, but it's a crazy offseason.
  14. (not sure what happened to your font) You don't think anybody (like Denver perhaps) trades ahead of us for a quarterback?
  15. A pretty good number (and probably the majority) of the mocks coming out now have the top four quarterbacks gone by pick five or six at the latest.
  16. I don't really want any of the later round QBs.
  17. Just saw this from Joe Person... There's also been word that Joe Burrow is lobbying the team to take a receiver like Ja'Marr Chase. (someone snapped you like a twig last year dude, but you be you) Most mocks previously had Penei Sewell going to the Bengals, but some draftniks are changing their mind now. I've even seen one that had him going to the Broncos at pick nine. So my question would be this: How realistic a chance do you think the Panthers have of getting Sewell at pick eight? For that matter, if he fell to pick six or seven, would you consider trading up?
  18. Someone pointed out that he basically turned Laremy Tunsil into four first round picks. I don't know how good anybody thinks Tunsil was, but he damn sure wasn't worth four first round picks.
  19. "But wait, there's more!" Oy Remember when it was one lawsuit? Then suddenly it was four, then six, then nine, then twelve. When it got to twelve, I remember saying "Well, that's gotta be all there are. That's like once a month!" And then it doubled. I stopped saying "this couldn't get any weirder" a long time ago.
  20. I've seen a few folks who still have that pipe dream, including one who thinks it happens before the draft (yikes). In reality, barring a settlement or some other miraculous event, Florio estimates that Watson's current slate of lawsuits will take about two years to work through. And I know some folks think a settlement just makes everything magically go away, but it's really not that simple; especially given that each and every one of the accusers is asking for an admission of guilt. I feel pretty confident in saying two things: Nobody, including us, is trading for Watson while this is still going on (we'd be idiots to do so). And specific to the Panthers, we're not waiting around for two years to address our quarterback situation. As Verge has said more than once, that ship has sailed.
  21. Our friend Ellis chimes in...
  22. This is one of the reasons why Ive balked at the idea of trading up or trading away a bunch of picks for a quarterback. In a draft that's said to have one of the better draft pools for offensive lineman in a while, I'm kind of hesitant about giving up picks that could be used to build our line.
