  1. Only kinda sorta Panthers related I'll grant, but very well worth watching
  2. Side Note: When the Steelers announced their first depth chart, Mason Rudolph was listed as the backup behind Mitch Trubisky. Kenny Pickett was listed as the number three. They later changed it to show Pickett as the backup and announced that the first one had Rudolph second due to a "clerical error". (Ouch )
  3. I'd normally call that a mistake. In his case though, it's probably not a bad thing.
  4. While we're at it, a little bit of actual news, Kenny Pickett has won the backup job in Pittsburgh.
  5. To be fair, Tepper kinda sorta halfway a little bit subtly hinted at the possibility that maybe he potentially might have could have kept Marty Hurney around just a little too long. He does get how he's perceived.
  6. I actually think the Steelers probably have the right idea. This is where you run into trouble with retiring numbers. You can't just retire the number of every great player you loved. And unfortunately, that's what fans tend to want to do. Sam Mills was way more than just a great player. That's why his number is retired. Of the four numbers discussed here, really only Thomas Davis has anything close to that kind of legacy beyond the playing field but even there I'd say it's probably not enough. The standard has to be higher.
  7. Irony at it's finest I'm kidding. You don't actually even qualify as "petty". "Worthless" would be more accurate.
  8. I have my own opinion, and have expressed it, despite what you say. As far as John, sure he could be wrong, but let's just say I have more confidence in his opinion than I do yours. Doubt I'm alone on that either. I'll await your response. Proportions being what they have been, this next one should go a good eight paragraphs (at least).
  9. I think Watson's lines would be more like "Shalt thee, fair maiden with dainty fingers, knead my muscular buttocks till my manhood be engorged? Deny thy consultations with those who might judge me and seek to stop my employer from becoming guarantor of my enormous fortune!"
  10. To be clear, Kunkel didn't make that judgment himself. He said he was told that by someone with the team. And honestly, as dysfunctional as this team is, it wouldn't surprise me.
  11. Guess John's "not in his right mind", huh? (thanks for being predictable)
  12. Watson isn't someone I'd consider Shakespearean. He'd fit better into something by DH Lawrence or Emmanuelle Arsan.
  13. If you're a good enough player, the league will excuse almost anything
  14. Starting OL might be above average by midseason or so. Definitely don't expect them to start out that way.
  15. This is one of those threads where you get to see who's taking things (or themselves) a tad too seriously
  16. Hamlet had good lateral movement but lousy field vision. King Lear was a half decent motivator but not much of a strategist. Romeo had some pretty concerning health issues after that one incident. Macbeth was smart but had character concerns, especially in his family.
  17. Our game? Pretty much all of it... When I answered the thread title in my head though, the answer was Bills-Rams on Thursday. I'm definitely not looking forward to how our game will compare to that one
  18. But...he doesn't have what it takes to play in the NFL
