Mr. Scot replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't want any quarterback in this draft. But I acknowledge it could happen. -
You repeatedly predicted that the Texans would force Deshaun Watson to play too.

For the record, Lady Cowboy Fan is part Irish. If we have an argument, I always say I'm arguing with the Irish part of her

This true? -
Which is the point. It's not as simple as "every pick is a gamble". Risk-reward varies wildly from prospect to prospect, and it's not strictly related to position.

And there's a reason why. You didn't really answer my question. Putting it another way, did Newton have as big a risk of failing as Manziel did?

Pauline also agrees that Scott Fitterer and Matt Rhule might not be on the same page regarding the future of the Panthers. As an aside, I've never heard Pauline's voice before. He sounds like Hawkeye Pierce

Had an uncle that served under him.

Was Cam Newton as much of a gamble as johnny Manziel?
-
It's not about the positions. It's about the players available. It's one thing to draft Justin Herbert over Joe Thomas, but quite another to take Jimmy Clausen over him.
-
You've been a big "keep swinging" guy on this topic. Do you want to draft one this year?

I hope not. I don't need another season of Matt Rhule.

Some guys are way bigger gambles than others. There's no quarterback in this draft I'm willing to gamble on.
-
I don't want to gamble at #6.

Over a quarterback? Okay. Over a top tackle? Shoot me
