  1. Pride going to IR definitely wouldn't be a surprise.
  2. Just out of curiosity, has anyone else been dreaming about an old black woman in Nebraska?
  3. I'm also prepped for high comedy if the Jets happen to release David Moore
  4. Probably not, but there are frequently early surprises. Typically guys that teams want to give a chance to catch on somewhere else.
  5. Saying that while I don't think there's anything substantive to this visit, if Luke does get an opportunity somewhere else I won't begrudge him that. He doesn't know us anything. Nor should he be expected to turn down a good opportunity if one arises. Hell, our current assistant GM took opportunities elsewhere before winding up here.
  6. A lot of teams are actually releasing some guys today. Not sure if the Panthers will do that or not. Haven't really seen any names that I found especially noteworthy.
  7. You know, I remember this one guy years ago that most NFL teams didn't think was good enough to play in the league. There was this one team though, they took a chance on him. He took advantage of that opportunity and made a stellar career with them. Heck, he wound up being one of their most beloved players of all time. But then one day, he just burned that whole bridge by leaving in free agency (to an expansion team, of all things). What a disloyal jerk that guy was, huh?
  8. The Colts backups yesterday looked way more like genuine NFL backups than anyone we have.
  9. Agreed with all of this. To be clear, when Luke says that he left because he wanted time to spend with his family and relax, I believe him. Now, once he's had that time could he get the itch to return to the game? Sure he could. And if that return happens somewhere other than Carolina...well, that's football.
  10. This doesn't really bother me. He's visiting old friends.
  11. Pretty much. Didn't really think it was that hard to understand.
  12. What if people were smart enough to know not to overreact to preseason games?
  13. Newman? Seriously? Newman didn't even make it out of Eagles OTAs before being cut. Now that he's a free agent, anybody could have him but nobody wants him.
  14. Looking for opinions from those who saw it. Smith was, as always, himself. His opinions were unfiltered, his stories were interesting and his football insights were... insightful. On the downside, I'd like to think he had a roster sheet available to him but he kept getting player names wrong. Heck, he credited one play to Lano Hill (Hill was waived last Wednesday). Taylor Zarzour had to uncomfortably correct him a number of times. Overall I'd say good, but also needs to work on a few things.
  15. How 'bout less political arguing, more "Sorry to hear that, hope the kids get better and everyone is okay"? Just a thought
  16. Annual preseason overreaction...
  17. Just one preseason game in, but the early returns look decent.
  18. I think he does better when there's plenty of room but even there he's not consistent. On the short field though, meh.
