  1. As to Belichick or Harbaugh, I'm not on board with either of those guys. If I were forced to choose between the two, I'd definitely take Harbaugh. Belichick is washed. But I'd rather not have either one...
  2. Even agreeing to that premise, he still should have been allowed to build his staff as he saw fit. And if he truly did want a different quarterback, that's who he should have been given. Telling a guy he has to do things your way and then firing him when it goes poorly is a sign of a really horrible leader.
  3. Then talked him into hiring people that he wasn't familiar with and who had different philosophies to help him do the job. What I think we're going to see a lot of in future stories is the idea that Frank was just "too nice" and/or too cooperative / collaborative for the position he was in.
  4. Heaven knows Reich Is a good person, and there's an argument to be made that being too much of a nice guy helped do him in. It's very possible that he wanted to give Brown his opportunity and may have tried to help him after realizing he just wasn't ready. Don't know. Gonna be interesting to see the stories that emerge after the season's over.
  5. That's a narrative I'm not going to be too surprised to see people take up. Frank certainly did some things wrong, but there's an argument to be made that he just put in a terrible position.
  6. That's probably a lot of us. He's smart not to discuss that in public though.
  7. Brady went down a step to quarterback coach and got more experience. His second stint as an OC has a limited sample but so far looks better than his first one. Won't surprise me if Brown does the same thing.
  8. The "we know we're already fired" part was essentially correct, but putting it in a way that made it sound like they were just going through the motions was a bad look. Don't know that it'll follow him given all the dysfunction this team has anyway, but it probably would have been better left unsaid.
  9. It's not just the playcalling. He wrote the playbook. I would guess he'll get another job as a runningback coach somewhere, and maybe with more time he'll be ready to be an OC. Unfortunately for us, this is the second time in the last few years that we've put an "up-and-comer" in that spot only to find out they weren't ready yet.
  10. This basically confirms that yes, it was his wife and the exchange was legit. And I'm pretty sure he does have a reaction to it, but he's wise to keep it quiet.
  11. No idea, but the hope is that he gets someone he will listen to. That's one of my main reasons for supporting Brandon Hunt, even though I think Will McClay likely has a better resumé.
  12. It's what he's be advised, and likely expected, to do in his position. Whether or not you understood that as a team is on you. My belief is that we did understand it, but also believed it didn't make a difference.
  13. I've seen a few snippets of this now, and actually there is a lot of interesting information in here. It's not necessarily "behind the scenes" stuff, but some in game analysis and other things that are pretty good.
  14. I think Jake is great, but yes he still works for the team. That tells me he can't say anything too substantial.
  15. It might actually happen, though is personally prefer to keep Adrian Wilson, Samit Suleiman and maybe a few others. But I feel like that decision needs to be left up to the new GM, not Tepper.
  16. Can't sign on to that, but I understand it. As far as the GM specifically though... What the Panthers currently have right now is a level of dysfunction that's as high as it's ever been. I'd not seen evidence that Fitterer was part of that problem...till this year. As far as personnel, I still don't feel like he can be judged fairly given the interference of both Rhule and Tepper, but that doesn't matter anymore. Whether he could have helped build a winning roster is no longer relevant. He helped backstab his head coach. You can't keep him after that.
  17. Correct, which is why (despite the personality issues) Gettleman is still the best GM we've had. Highlighting Marty making good draft picks while still building losing teams is like pointing to great plays made in a lost game. Yeah, cool play...but we still lost. And again, Marty gave us Rhule.
  18. And your choice to make things personal rather than factual, as usual, is noted
  19. There was a rumor years ago that Joe Horn had slept with Willie Roaf's wife. Today there was a tweet saying Horn had actually fathered a child with one of his teammates wives but didn't mention the name. True? Don't know.
  20. Couple factual points here... Gamble was a trade up pick after the Super Bowl season. No issues with him. Beason was taken after a trade down. The Jets traded up to our spot (#14). We got Beason. They got Darrelle Revis. Which of those two would you call "generational"? With Williams, we got lucky. Our draft board that year had Laurence Maroney as the top runningback, but the Patriots took him before we had the chance (basically saved us feom ourselves). It wasn't too long after that that Marty started trading away future first rounders and using our next top picks on guys like Everette Brown and Armanti Edwards. Shocking he's not in the Pro Football Hall of Fame as an executive, I know
  21. I wouldn't call Round 2 a "late round". And giving the generational tag to anybody except Newton and Kucehly would be...generous. Hell, outside of Newton, every single draft pick in 2011 was pretty much a bust.
  22. I mean the weigh in thing was pretty obvious. If you ignored that, it was probably because you chose to or just didn't feel like it mattered.
