I know there were some folks who wanted him here, but given that he's now working out elsewhere (and the little fact that we've already signed a different safety) I'd say you might want to let go of that idea.
-
I'm sure if we win the Super Bowl, there'll be people ready to tell us that we could have won it even better. Those will be dumb people of course, but hey...
-
Yes it will, but until it does the risk involved in trading for him is enormous. That no team in the NFL is currently willing to take that risk should tell everyone just how huge it is.
-
NFC East champion? Last season that wasn't exactly a badge of honor.

For the record, Watson has admitted that some sexual activity occurred between he and some of his therapists. He states however that it was consensual. Given the number of accusers, it's probably fair to say that's not a good sign.

My years of Huddle experience are a big reason why I roll my eyes a lot

He likely will get his day in court, and it's probably going to be messy. But that situation is exactly why you don't trade for him right now. Until this situation is resolved one way or the other, you just can't do that. And this is the view of pretty much every team in the league at this juncture. You can say "conditional picks", but the Texans have already indicated they won't go for that. And I wouldn't place any bets on them changing their mind. Plus if they do, I'd probably be asking myself why.
-
If he gets traded elsewhere, then that crowd will probably start clamoring for Aaron Rodgers. (that ain't happenin' either)
-
At least among the intelligent posters it should. Would there still be morons suggesting that we try to trade the Eagles to get him? I'd like to think no, but...
-
His lawyers have said they expect him to be indicted, but it hasn't happened yet.
-
Not charged yet, but expected to be. And if he is, those charges will include forcing three women to perform oral sex on him. You comfortable with that?
-
As to the others, before I pay to catch a pass from a famous quarterback, I'm going to go back and review my high school career. You know the saying "there's a reason you play defense"? Yeah...I played defense. I'd essentially be paying to drop a pass from a famous quarterback.
-
If I'm catching a pass from Brady, I'm going to ask them to measure the air pressure in the football first.

The Eagles are reported to have definite interest and have three first round picks to give next year. Plus unlike us, their owner is actually more than willing to interfere in football matters and has a GM who will happily cover for him when he does. If there is a sweepstakes, I don't see anybody beating what Philly can offer.
-
As to my answer... Right now? No. If he did what he's accused of? Hell no! If he's innocent (which, let's be honest is a pretty big reach right now) then only if it doesn't cost too much. So basically, not likely.
-
His legal team believes he's going to be indicted. When your own lawyers are saying that, it ain't good.

Never been a real big fan of that agreement because somebody always seems to get hurt in those games. -
Carolina Panthers are STILL interested in Deshaun Watson

Even if he actually did all the things he's accused of? -

Wouldn't bet on Watson going anywhere, here or otherwise, anytime soon. -
Three or four different teams have signed backup quarterbacks in the last few days.

Winston was probably trying to eat a W there As an aside, my high school team had something like that. They called it The Blaster. We hated that damn thing.

I remember not that long ago, the Steelers started a season looking unbeatable, but down the road just seemed to fold. Can't remember if that was last year or before that, but I recall it happening. My Steeler fan friends were livid.

Carolina Panthers Training Camp - Thursday Thread
Mr. Scot replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm liking these reports that when somebody on the offense has to take a penalty lap, the whole unit goes with them (including Darnold). It may not seem like much, but it's a nice little bit for team unity.- 145 replies
