The NFL requires non-disclosure agreements to be reported to the league office. At the time, there was a load of speculation that Richardson had more than the four which were known. Had those been discovered, he could have been in big time trouble with the league.

Panthers have reached out to Minnesota for Kirk Cousins
Mr. Scot replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we were able to trade for Cousins without sacrificing the #6 pick, a pairing of Cousins and Pickett would be possible. Wouldn't call that likely, but it's possible. -

They'd absolutely have to renegotiate that, which would possibly mean extending him. -
Remember him? No word on his role. They don't have a QB coach listed (I think McVay might do it himself) but their "passing game coordinator" who also coached right ends followed O'Connell to the Vikings.

Panthers have reached out to Minnesota for Kirk Cousins
Mr. Scot replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
An zrticle from Yahoo Sports with more detail on the radio segment... From the article... On Monday’s edition of Purple Daily, Judd Zulgad of SKOR North noted that the Panthers recently inquired about the three-time Pro Bowler—who is on the final year of a two-year, $66 million mega extension. “They have gotten a call. Now, from what I’ve heard, it went nowhere so far,” Zulgad said. “But it’s interesting that the phone did ring at TCO [Stadium] in Eagen and on the other end of the line . . . the Carolina Panthers. “Quarterback-desperate. Panicked, I’m sure. I think if Matt Rhule and the Panthers don’t have a successful 2022, he’s probably going to be fired ’cause that has not worked out. They cast their lot, in 2021, with Sam Darnold—didn’t work out. And so I’ve heard that the Panthers . . . now the Vikings supposedly said ‘Hey, let’s put a pin in that conversation. We don’t plan to move him now.'” With Cousins set to earn a whooping guarantee of $45 million in 2022 and the Vikings moving into a fresh regime with new head coach Kevin O’Connell, rumblings of a pay cut for the 33-year-old have surfaced in Minnesota. And Cousins’ presumed refusal to entertain such an option (and why would he?) is what may keep a potential trade to Carolina alive according to Zulgud. “But putting the pieces of the puzzle together—Kirk’s demands, or refusal to take a pay cut, leaves me to believe that the Vikings at least would have the possibility of picking that phone back up,” he added. As of now, it seems as though O’Connell is looking forward to working alongside Cousins—as they did in 2017. But if money talks, it may have plenty to say about whether the Vikings end up keeping their quarterback or reeling in a sucker to take him off their hands. -

I wouldn't call Cousins a franchise quarterback. But I also wouldn't run screaming into the night if we acquired him via reasonable trade compensation. (hell no on a first rounder) -

FYI: Still nothing from any established sources but for what it's worth, a listener to the show tweeted that Zulgad said the Vikings told the Panthers that Cousins isn't available "at this time". There have been reports that Kevin O'Connell plans to stick with Cousins. Of course, you know how "plans" go. -

Yet to see any established sources repeat this. Yes it's possible, but no confirmation yet. -

Cousins isn't bad, but he hasn't struck me as great either. The Vikings paid for "great" but the best they ever got out of him was "pretty good". Is he better than what we have? Probably, but I'd really like to know what we're thinking of trading if we go that route. -

This is the original source. It's attributed to Judd Zulgad, a sports radio guy in Minnesota. -

I've already talked about it elsewhere but I'll summarize my opinions here. The coaches I'm excited about: James Campen Chris Tabor Steve Wilks The coaches I'm not so excited about but who I hope work out: Ben McAdoo Kevin Gilbride Jr The coach that makes me wonder what the hell they were thinking: Paul Pasqualoni And the coaches that don't have enough info out there to know how to feel about them: Joe Dailey Robert Kugler -
If we draft a QB, I want Carson Strong

It may be. Just a reminder though that decisions like that can sometimes come back to haunt you. -

I don't necessarily have strong opinions about Strong, but this story does remind me a little of that time when the Dolphins were too worried about a certain quarterback's shoulder to sign him. I've forgotten his name. I think it was Drew something -
That story got weird, fast.

I've seen arguments both ways. Sometimes a settlement like that is the only justice of victim can get. At the same time, it legitimately feels like the person paying is "getting away with it". We know Richardson had at least four because those were reported. Wonder how many he actually has. Likewise wonder how many Jerry Jones has.

Haven't listened to the podcast, but noticed it references the topic of Jerry Richardson.

I think they're ultimately going to promote from within. Probably Omar Khan, though there's an argument to be made that Brandon Hunt would be a better choice. -

Hey, I tried. When you continue to be an object of ridicule, don't say you weren't warned. -
This sounds familiar... This reminds me of the last time I heard a team saying it was going to do an "internal investigation" regarding scandalous allegations. Remember how that played out? Who was the head coach of that team again? (or the GM for that matter) Maybe those guys should have gone to Dallas instead.
-
Revisiting this because Albert Breer commented on it. Specifically, he said this: You might be surprised to know how far accountability like this gets a coach with his players. Good on Zac Taylor for taking full responsibility. And it was also interesting how (Raheem) Morris went out of his way to defend Taylor on this one, when he and I talked through that sequence. (Link)

Sure you did. See, this is the kind of stupid sh-t that gets you laughed at. Yes, you care. It's why even across numerous screen names you've constantly been trying to make people think you're a big deal that has insight or inside info. But everyone knows you're not. Hence, why you end up getting mocked. Quit pulling that sh-t and you'll be way better off. -

Dude, you didn't even know one of our "new coaches" was an internal promotion. Have said it before, and will say it again: Try just being part of the conversation instead of trying to convince people you're smarter than everyone else, because you're not, and the only thing you're accomplishing this way is annoying people. Tone it down and stop acting like you have some kind of inside insight (everyone knows you don't) and maybe people will go easier on you -

I type with voice to text, and it doesn't take me as long to formulate my thoughts as...others And you'll find I'm not the only one laughing at your analysis -

Unfortunate, but likely the truth. -
To be clear, Flores didn't really get hired as a "consultant". He's still a position coach (the linebacker coach, to be specific). The "special defensive consultant" is an extra title, kind of like "assistant head coach". It might carry some additional duties (or additional salary) but his primary job will still fall under the DC.
