Albert Breer on the Panthers quarterback options
Mr. Scot replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Because Rhule knows him. He recruited him to Temple. Also Fitterer seemed effusive when asked about him. -
Also a finalist in Denver... Dammit

I've got a feeling it's either that or Pickett. -
FYI: The Bills special teams coordinator is Heath Farwell, the guy who used to be the assistant special teams coach here under Rivera and Blackburn. Per his Bills bio, he's only been coaching since 2016.

Don't know, but it sounds like they had a communication breakdown. In a playoff game that's just something you can't let happen.

Plus there was that time he talked about slashing someone's throat

Via his latest mailbag (link) From Mike Liddle (@mliddle17): With the hiring of Ben McAdoo in Carolina, is there any chance, may it be slim, that Aaron Rodgers comes to the Panthers??? If not, is there a QB in the draft that fits McAdoo? Mike, since McAdoo had Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers as quarterback as he worked his way up in Green Bay (i.e., Hall of Fame talents), and inherited Eli Manning in New York, it’s tough to get a great read on what exactly he wants at the position. But I do think having a smart guy at the position, given the volume his offense brings, would be a good place to start. That, to me, could put someone like Pitt’s Kenny Pickett in play. The trouble the Panthers might run into with the high-end guys, like Rodgers, Deshaun Watson and Russell Wilson, is the perception that head coach Matt Rhule will be fighting for his job next fall. Of those three, only Watson has a no-trade clause in his contract. But the reality is all three will be able to dictate their destination to a degree—no team is going to trade for one of them if it’s communicated that the player won’t play for that team. And the fact that Carolina’s facing uncertainty going forward would have to be a big factor for any of them and why I think taking a shot at guy like Garoppolo might be more realistic for the Panthers in the end.

Sounds like your standard "new title / new contract so we can pay you more money and hang on to you longer" type promotion. His duties and activities probably won't really change all that much.

A guy who thinks he's football smart when he isn't is a huge problem. Having an owner who trusted the wrong people kept this team mediocre for most of its existence. And right now, it doesn't look like anything's changed.

Stroud is a pretty good source for news on Florida teams.

Dueling sources...

He was one of the guys Tepper brought in to interview for our GM job last year.
-
We still have Matt Rhule in charge. Won't be the least bit surprised if we finish last again.
-
It takes less time when you know what you're doing. As Nanuq said above, when it comes to football Tepper clearly doesn't.

Racism likely isn't in play with Poles. It is an interesting question though. I expected him to go after Bieniemy when he got a job, but nope.
-
What I saw of him was... uninspiring. He wasn't a great passer or a great runner, even when he had opportunities. No way I'd take him higher than the third or fourth round with the expectation that he'll be a project. For uthe record, Corral didn't look like anything special in that game either. He was competent though, good enough to get the job done.
-
Oh, hell no.
-
Same. Definitely not Willis though. I watched him against Mississippi State. The knock that he only plays big against weaker competition seems pretty valid. Pickett or Corral, probably Pickett given that Rhule knows him from recruiting.

You won't be alone. Pretty sure the fans would riot.
