  1. Yeah, I think people are underestimating Payton's ego. Reference Taysom The Golden Calf of Bristol.
  2. Yeah, UNC was not worthy of a bid last year, IMO. Especially with the ACC looking so insanely weak in the regular season. Then the tourney comes and all the ACC teams go on a tear.
  3. David Newton is about as reliable as Ms. Cleo when it comes to Carolina Panthers news.
  4. I can tell you that while UNC wasn't as obviously dirty as UK, they were definitely one of the dirtiest in the ACC. Easily top 5. You didn't exist at that level of college basketball without being dirty. It's just the way it was. That's why I could never jump on that bandwagon when it came to impermissible benefits. It was too easy to see how common it was.
  5. They can try all they want but the details of that situation are public knowledge. They aren't going to be able to pull the wool over anyone's eyes. Carr basically already gave them the finger by not letting them extend the period to deal him. In a week(ish), he will be a free agent.
  6. I can't explain it either. We just seem to think any JAG WR can get it done.
  7. Zero chance I will ever say any names(I did know about Wall long before he committed). I never blamed any of the kids that I knew took money and I will never put their names out there for that. I will say that most of those guys don't get directly involved. There is almost always some amount of separation so that the head coach has plausible deniability.
  8. Not 100% sure we will have that luxury. Depends on what we do in free agency.
  9. Richardson's ceiling is so insanely high that some FO is going to fall in love. Unless he tanks at the combine and his workouts, he will be taken in the 1st. I think Levis is going to be a love him or hate him guy. A lot of the anonymous scout quotes seem to indicate he is liked better by the scouting community than the TV bobblehead community.
  10. I also think Levis and Richardson could fall. But, remember, it only takes one dumb team....
  11. Honestly, if you have to keep a guy on the bench for more than a season so he learns the position, he wasn't worth a top 10 pick. You need to be able to step in and learn on the field. That is your best learning experience anyway. In the NFL you either figure it out or you don't.
  12. I swear this guy is employed to just fug with us at this point.
  13. I think Young and Stroud are likely year one starters. Definitely Young. Levis COULD be, although I have a lot of doubts. Richardson would be shocking if he is starting in three seasons. He basically has to finish learning how to play QB.
  14. 6. Carolina Panthers Original pick: Ikem Ekwonu, OT New pick: Tyler Smith, OT With quarterback Brock Purdy off the board here, it would have been easy to stick with Ekwonu. He had a solid season after a slow start and has shown the promise to be a long-term solution to a longtime issue. Smith, however, graded out slightly higher for the league's ninth-ranked run offense and allowed seven sacks after being thrown into the position right before the season. Ekwonu allowed eight. -- David Newton
  15. The quality of their chicken has hit the floor. Had it recently after years and it was terrible.
  16. They all cheat. All of them. Dean did, Guthridge did, Doherty did, and Roy did. Hubert might not have to BECAUSE of NIL. If you were a part of Division I college basketball over the past 40-50 years, you likely did some sketchy poo. That's how it has always been. Fans just liked it when only a few of us knew about it. That to me has always been why I have never had any respect for any college sports fan that didn't admit that the reveneu sports were rampant with cheating and ALL the time. None of us were alive when this hasn't been the case.
  17. No one is trading for him. Period. Everyone in the NFL knows he is getting cut.
  18. I used to be heavily involved in AAU. Syracuse has long provided impermissible benefits to it's star recruits. He just hid behind the alumni like they all do. I remember having a discussion with a top recruit(top 15, five star) handler years ago about Jim Beoheim specifically.
  19. Not to mention they have always gotten paid. All those old school coaches are upset because they can't have a monopoly on under the table money anymore and it's a free market distribution. They are also upset because they can't rook these poor bastards into taking a four year scholarship with almost no recourse if things don't work out. Now with the transfer portal and expanded rights there, it's like free agency every offseason. Well......fuging good. fug these whiny college coaches that have made MILLIONS while the athletes they directly exploited get nickels in return. No college coach has any right to open their mouth unless they have been getting paid a salary roughly equivalent to a tenured professor at their university. They are and have been the ultimate crooks in the entire shady college sports fiasco.
  20. He is an elite pass rusher. You really can't have enough of those. The thought was that Burns would be that elite guy but he hasn't quite been able to reach that height yet. Luvu is a great player but he isn't in the same class when it comes to keeping QB pressure. But, Reddick was also used very effectively by Philly and 97% of what we did in Carolina was insanely stupid. Perhaps we will get more out of these guys with competent coaching.
  21. We have neglected KR/PR forever in the draft. Hence why I said in my offseason predictions that we would do so again.
  22. fuging stupid as fug. Also about par for the course as a Panthers fan
  23. The salary cap went up. $30 mil/year is mediocre starter money now.
