  1. He deserves that ranking based on his career. This season is about whether he can rise above that or not.
  2. BYU’s Taysom Hill will replace a shaky Jameis Winston in the second half and lead the Saints on a game-winning two-minute drive. Lost me with this
  3. Those are a little high expectations, IMO. I can see several scenarios where falling short of the playoffs will still be a successful season. I just want to see clear progress from last season.
  4. I am down. I'd love to see him prove he is an elite pass rushers. Advanced stats show he is but the sacks aren't there yet. That is what gets disproportionately represented in the media hype.
  5. Burns has to put up video game numbers, honestly. He just hasn't gotten the national rep yet, even if he may be worthy.
  6. And we have had losing seasons in which we were predicted as Super Bowl Champs. You never truly know what you have until the football is real. For our team, we have so many young and new players, it is almost impossible to know what we will get
  7. I am not a big fan of using such a critical offensive asset in a return capacity. But, it also sucks to have unreliable return options.
  8. I think that will be the clear storyline of the season, Darnold and that OL. We may have struggles elsewhere but that dynamic has the biggest potential to take or add W's. I would be shocked if our failures or successes elsewhere have a bigger impact than that.
  9. Rhule never recruited particularly well in college. He is more of a "winning culture" guy, so I expect that might translate a little better to the NFL. We have some big challenges with the unprecedented dearth of talent during the rebuild but we looked ahead of schedule last season. If we nailed another draft class, it could accelerate our process even more. While we lack some key depth, we do have the talent to contend in the next few years. We just have to keep adding to the talent pool at a greater rate than it is being subtracted. On the surface, they seem to be doing that.
  10. This would fit with the general Rhule college track. If we are in the 7-9 win range, next year we could see our big jump.
  11. Yeah, I hope they don't take all the gunslinger out of him.
  12. Yeah, and that is what I mean. Will we see that or not? Sam isn't geared that way, so if we see it consistently, perhaps it is the offense. To be clear, I don't expect to see this scenario.
  13. You can call me a jerk all you want but you aren't gonna get much respect from any serious fan when you ditch your team to follow a player out of town. That's a joke. Good luck with whatever future fanbase you jump into.
  14. The checkdown count on Sunday will be worth monitoring. I am curious to see how close to the Teddy it looks. If we get Teddy like results this year, maybe it is more of a Brady thing?
  15. If he gets banned it would be for the same reason past player fans have gotten banned(Nails for the ridiculous Greg Hardy fixation, etc). I would imagine you'll just disappear when Sam does, like you did with the Jets because they got rid of him. After all, you have shown how much of a "fan" you really are.
  16. This is actually a good point. There was a noticeable tone change from Rhule after that happened. Does Sam get extra leeway if/when he underperforms? I doubt he will be dumb enough to throw the staff under the bus like Teddy did.
  17. You aren't a Panthers fan. You literally posted that you weren't. If we ban that dope, you'd be next.
  18. Well the meltdowns and HOF enshrinments typically happen to every player, sometimes within seconds of each other.
  19. Agreed. I don't think he will be starting long.
  20. Elflein has consistently fuged up in his career.
  21. Yeah, I am sure it happens a bunch. I just think you accept the errors if the guy has upside versus the guy you know is going to fug up.
