  1. I meant outside of injuries but obviously that would be thr most likely reason we see some of our failed signings again. I am not a believer in BC as much more than a decent backup caliber LT. Perhaps Mays makes a splash right away and supplants Elflein but I wouldn't personally bet on it early in the season.
  2. Either high level favoritism in play or our offseason signings were a fuging disaster if we see both.
  3. I suspect we see the initial starting lineup as Ekwonu and Moton outside(obviously) and some combo of Elflein, Bozeman and Corbett inside. I think most other options are probably a little far fetched. If it doesn't work this way, I would think it's because Elflein struggles and we just generally have to make do from a bunch of less than stellar options available.
  4. Yeah, Donte is likely to always be streaky. Not sure I would have given him that contract but he is probably the biggest ball hawk at CB the franchise has ever had. I will give him that.
  5. He doesn't generate a lot of push because although he is a great athlete he is not very strong and his technique is still lacking. He is definitely a project player.
  6. Listen....this isn't Great Britain, we use an "s" in "offence."
  7. Well, I do believe in the talent level. Most of those guys were productive in college and have tested well athletically. But talent only goes so far in the NFL. You really need a lot more than just natural talent. I don't think CJ Henderson has shown that he is that interested in professional football yet. Taylor and Horn are just younger guys that we have to see what they have. I do think the ceiling is very high for them, I will say that.
  8. Yeah, I believe in the talent level of that group but we haven't seen the production to warrant any real hype yet. It's very promising but, again, more than one thing needs to go right for that to be an elite unit.
  9. Yeah, that's another thing. Maybe when Rhule is gone these players all perform better. Could be that he is such a disaster as a coach that he is dragging everything down. Or maybe his players are so bad that it's making him look bad. Which, he did pick most of them so that's kind of also on him. Or(most likely) it's some of both.
  10. Yeah, our path to success isn't things being maintained at their former levels. It's a lot of players having breakout years or figuring out how to become good NFL starters/rotational guys. And most if not all of that having to happen in 2022 if Rhule is still gonna be around. That's why I can't get on board the "Oh we are right there" bandwagon. We MIGHT be close to being a playoff caliber roster, IF a LOT of things go well in 2022. Our roster has a lot more questions than it does answers.
  11. @SizzleBuzz hopes to one day be upgraded to being able to touch his unwashed balls and care for them.
  12. Do you seriously go surfing through old ass threads to stalk people in the wee hours of the morning? That sounds like a very sad and unfulfilled life.
  13. That completely depends on what happens. In a scenario where an all new coaching staff and/or new GM are in place, who can say? Not saying it's likely but given the level of uncertainty in our short term, it's definitely not impossible. My general pessimism is largely rooted in the fact that Rhule is indeed the worst coach in the NFL(that I agree with ESPN on). It's very, very, very rare to see a turnaround from a team after two years as bad as Rhule has had. It's not impossible but I'd say it's highly improbable. I am also not sure how much talent the roster has at the moment. I'd on the edge of "bottom 10 in the NFL" or "top 12 in the NFL." That's sort of to be expected when the guys you are pinning your future hopes on are largely all players with less than 3 years in the league. That could go either way. The interesting thing will be to see if Tepper is so convinced of the current path that we stay the course, even if the outcome in 2022 is a poor one. That's going to be the real intrigue, IMO.
  14. Yeah, if we beat most expectations and do well next season that would make that change.
  15. Yeah, the NFL is one of the toughest professional leagues to project three years out. The year to year roster flux is worse than most leagues.
  16. And after this season, he may be on his way out. The result of this season could dramatically alter what his career is here, especially if he isn't an instant impact guy.
  17. It seems like more of a "heat" check on direction based on where we are now. But if you look they have our coaching, drafting and FO rated fairly low. So I can see where they justify that poor outlook. Admittedly, most Huddlers would probably also agree we aren't a franchise trending in a good direction. But, like you said, we could have a completely new coaching staff, front office and QB next season. Our situation is so close to dramatically changing that it's hard to out too much stock in it.
  18. Yeah and that is a fair point. He is only on our roster for one of the next three years. Only Corral is on the roster in three years by contract. So 28th might be generous when you consider that.
  19. Yeah and I don't see anyone below him on that list that is CLEARLY better than he is.
  20. Well, you might be able to say that about some top 12 guys too. That remains to be seen. It's possible that our situation is bad enough that very few QB's could drag us to contender status. If next season is the same disaster we have seen under the current staff, I would tend to lean that way.
  21. I forgot that Trubisky wasn't on the Bills anymore. He might be a starter. I guess it depends on the progress of Pickett.
  22. Trubisky and Jimmy G aren't starters. Mariota is not a lock as a starter.
  23. Most of those guys aren't starters, though. Still, if we out a comprehensive lost up, I bet most would rate him higher than 28. Maybe that would be an interesting thread. Put up a list of the starting QB's(with the open jobs grouped as a unit) and see where Huddlers rank him.
  24. I don't know how much better but I would hope better than 28th. Seems like at least top 25. The actual rankings versus what was said was very strange.
