  1. This is true. Just the idea of a team trading for Sam to start is absolutely laughable. We were the only team in the NFL dumb enough to think that.
  2. Lol. I mean if they want to tank for a top 10 draft pick, sure. Brissett can manage a game and get that team to mediocre to below average. Sam will have them nosediving for the bottom.
  3. We will never know the true story, hence the "if." Read better.
  4. I am not too worried about Corral. If he doesn't pan out after a year starting, he also just isn't likely to pan out. Even if he struggles, you should be able to see whether he is worth running it back in 2023 with. That's also what I am after. We should have another top 10(maybe top 5) pick, so we need to know if that needs to be a QB or not.
  5. I don't think it's about us thinking he is ready, it's about not wanting to see Darnold stink again for most of a season. That really wasn't fun at all.
  6. Anyone who bought that line of garbage is a fuging moron. You could probably talk them into $125/week payments on a high mileage 2007 Ford Focus.
  7. I know, I just think that we will focus much more on the price than the timing. I don't think there is desperation on the Panthers part. Not to mention he probably wouldn't have to know much of the playbook to immediately be an upgrade over the current QB's on the roster. If the Browns wanted to do all of his salary, minus $6-7 mil, I think we'd at least listen. Supposedly the Panthers are in the $3-5 mil range and Cleveland only wants to pay half. It's also possible someone swoops in and just does a better deal than ours.
  8. I think we end up trading for Mayfield but not within the next two months. I think towards August/end of August.
  9. Releasing Baker Mayfield would be moronic. You'd be better off paying 70% of his salary and getting a pick in return. His salary is completely guaranteed.
  10. Anyone who thinks Baker Mayfield plays another down for the Browns even with Watson out, is out of their minds. Neither the team nor Baker want that to happen.
  11. Yeah, plus he supposedly wanted to oust Tomlin. If true, we know he has no idea what a good coach looks like.
  12. Yeah, we should have a lot more information on Tepper soon. If Rhule tanks again and is retained, 100% chance that Tepper is just a fuging idiot. If he tanks or underperforms and he cans him, might have some hope he isn't a dummy. I think that will depend on the next hire, though. If he makes another dum-dum hire, the issue is once again 100% him. I will say the signs point towards him just being a complete idiot and not knowing what he is doing as an NFL owner.
  13. Yeah the few guys that openly turned us down was a big sign of how dysfunctional and unstable this situation in Carolina is. We just have to hope it's relatively isolated to Rhule and doesn't extend to the whole organization. If we don't see big improvements from the game planning and execution this season, then these new hires were ultimately a failure. Although the bulk of that blame will likely rest on Rhule's shoulders.
  14. I didn't have an opinion because I assumed it would just be Rhule's buddy that was the interim OC. I don't hate the hire because at least we have someone with actual NFL experience but I am also not delusional enough to start jumping for joy because it isn't like this dude is some wunderkind of an OC.
  15. I think part of it is the Cincy line but I do recall seeing/hearing some analysis during the year that indicated that the coaching staff realized that Burrow just wasn't going to avoid the pressure and they sort of relaxed trying to scheme him out of it and just let him do his thing. Eventually that will have to change. He has to realize he can't continue to get lit up like this.
  16. One of the biggest keys to Campbell looking better than expected so far is that he has a VERY strong staff with a lot of NFL experience. Rhule did not assemble that.
  17. I think Herbert ends up ahead of Burrow ultimately. Burrow just takes an insane amount of punishment. Way more than Jackson or Herbert.
  18. Read the fine print, it's just a CBS Sports writer. Also, CBS Sports is a poor man's Bleacher Report.
  19. No, Tepper comes from a world where some of that ignorant BS works.
  20. Yeah, right now Burns does not have an advanced array of pass rush moves that he utilizes. He is kind of a one trick pony, which is definitely a concern.
  21. Yeah, I mean........I can understand the sentiment. I hope he makes wise financial decisions and is still able to help them out.
