Round 2 Canes vs Rangers Game 2 May 20 8pm ET (ESPN)
kungfoodude replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
I do hope our PP gets a little more efficient. Also glad we aren't dealing with the fuging goons from Boston trying to injure our players when they get down. -

I made the joke to a buddy of mine during the game that it was probably the first time Burns had been in a loud home stadium since FSU. -
College football might be about to get real interesting

Lol. You thought they weren't going to have to pay taxes on this? -

It wouldn't work. There is no cap on how much NFL/NBA/MLB/etc. players can get from endorsement deals. That's the equivalent. -

I'd rather it be open rather than the shadows. I have seen enough personally from the shadow world in AAU basketball. UNC, Duke, NC State, Wake, etc. I have seen/have knowledge of them all putting money in players pockets. That's just the local schools. Plenty nationally too. -

Pay for play has existed for as long as college athletics. -

They fought it for so long because they wanted all the money. That was the reason. It's a shitshow because rather than having a plan, they fought it tooth and nail. fug all these crooked universities(athletic dept) and the NCAA. -

I have literally been pushing for the NIL for over 25 years. Glad to see it come to pass. -

Both massive, cheating douches. Nothing to see other than people being upset that their normal cheating is now legal. -
Yeah, the intro stuff is very cringey.

You have to read through all their nonsense. It's basically about marketability.

See above.

If it wasn't the fuging fully guaranteed salary, he'd probably be gone. I'm somewhat glad to see Rhule have to eat his roster spot though. Put your Matt Stafford clone out there again, you fuging clown.

We (The Emory Marketing Analytics Center and Fanalytics Podcast) pay special attention to the NFL because it showcases important lessons about consumer passion (fandom), and we can illustrate the power of analytics for sports and marketing. Guys, this is about marketability. Don't lose sight of that. This isn't a ranking of how hardcore the fanbases are.

I mean the only guy that probably isn't better than Darnold on that list is Lock. Still debatable. People see Darnold's million dollar skills and it blinds them from his 10 cent brain. If he ever adjusts to the NFL, at the current rate of "progress" it will take well into his 30's.

With quality QB play. Is this roster ready to go?
kungfoodude replied to iamhubby1's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, a lot of things have to go our way for this turnaround, even with competent FO and HC moves. I don't think most fans appreciated how bad our roster was after the 2019 purge. Truthfully, it's debatable how much it has improved since then. We really need these 2020-2022 guys to be good. Not just the first round guys. We need some of these other picks to pan out, as well. Otherwise this will be a very, very bad team. -
This would have more applicability to Tepper than the fans. This is about marketability which we are the primary factor not so much the primary beneficiary.

Russell would likely have been successful anywhere he was given a chance to start but he wouldn't be a Super Bowl champion without those other elements. Even the greatest of QB's isn't gonna drag a team to but so much success. Look at Brady in Tampa. He plopped into a ready-made team to get his last title. That team was stacked with talent. Stafford and the Rams. This roster is pretty thin on talent and VERY thin on experience. So the ceiling is naturally going to be very low. -

A great QB might be able to mask out issues but I don't think even the rosiest of rosy views is banking on Corral to be a great QB and especially as a rookie. It would be awesome but it's not very realistic. Even the unrealistic Russell Wilson example everyone is so attached to, he took 2-3 seasons to really dial it in. -
Eh....IDC about the amount of goals scored, just if the games are good. I also don't want to see any good Hurricanes games. I will take as many comfortable 3+ goal victories as possible.

I mean, it's fun to watch as long as your team isn't getting shelled like that.

This Calgary/Edmonton game is fuging insane.
