  1. Well, we are the new Bengals/Browns, most likely. At least our incompetence will provide a few years of laughing at least. I will still enjoy the NFL, just not the Panthers part of it.
  2. Once again, you have zero clue what you are talking about but strong opinions on the things you don't have any clue you are talking about. How about this, have you watched a single snap of Penning at all?
  3. I don't think pining after a guy that doesn't want to be here accomplishes much anymore. Watson is a fantasy. He may never play again, he may have to sit out for a long time, and he may just not want to come here. And that is all ignoring the likely price to obtain him. We may as well let that one go.
  4. If he drops and one of the top 3 LT's is on the board, that is when we have some serious choices to make.
  5. LOL. Where you played matters way less than your abilities. By that logic, Howell is undraftable because UNC has never had a successful QB. Non-P5 OL are less common in the first round(true for all positions) but that's because there is a big talent disparity in the average P5 player and the average non-P5. As a group that makes sense, but you don't grade prospects as a group. Is Patrick Mahomes a bad QB? Because prior to him Texas Tech QB's were regarded as gimmick guys that piled up stats in a one read offense. However he is/was otherworldly talented. There are plenty of small school players in the HOF, including our recently inducted Sam Mills. Would I take Penning at 6? Probably not. Would I be upset if we had him on on our roster. Absolutely not.
  6. So you didn't watch anything, don't know anything but have strong opinions against it? This fits.
  7. He is sort of a less athletic Ekwonu, right? Same nastiness and physical play. I am not anti-Penning. Might be kind of high at 6 but I wouldn't be upset. Now if we pick him over Neal, Ekwonu or Cross.....eh....not sure I would be pumped about that.
  8. Having the choice of Ekwonu or Cross at 6 would be amazing.
  9. Bad ownership is a problem that almost no NFL franchise is ever able to overcome. Some new owners start out bad and adjust or figure it out but truly bad owners.....they just stay bad. Look at all the long term struggling franchises and see how closely that is tied to ineffective ownership.
  10. Yes but by that definition, defensive rebounds are turnovers. Now see how that works?
  11. In our current state, I wouldn't even bother investing in a QB. Fix the OL in the draft and let the next coaching staff figure out QB.
  12. He's a top 12 performer statistically but a bottom 8 QB competitively. Not sure there is a bigger choke artist long term starting QB than Cousins in the last 30 years. His record against playoff teams is insanely bad. Not in the playoffs, mind you, teams that MADE the playoffs in the given year.
  13. Cousins is much better but the price tag difference is so extreme this isn't a real discussion.
  14. He has a no trade clause but I doubt he would veto a move that brings him a monetary windfall like a new deal might. It's hard to express how dumb we'd have to be to trade for a lame duck QB contract when he is likely to be available for relatively cheaply(less than $35 mil/yr) in 2023.
  15. I'd actually probably put Carr ahead of Cousins on that list. 1. Carr 2. Cousins 3. Garoppolo 4. Tannehill
  16. All of those players are significantly better than Mariotta or Trubisky(minus Minshew, who is a little bit of a wildcard).
  17. Drew had played and had some measure of success in the NFL. Also, almost no one in the NFL would touch Brees because his injury was considered so severe the likelihood of him ever playing again was considered low(much more serious than a standard shoulder injury). Strong's injuries are going to be scrutinized because of players like Todd Gurley(huge red flags coming into the NFL) and also he is already am extremely immobile QB in a league where mobility is becoming more important.
  18. Drafting a guy that to play a position he didn't in college would be a very Rhule thing to do. But, had we had more draft picks, I would love to take Johnson. High caliber IOL prospect.
  19. We have to hope he learns and improves. If not, we are royally fuged. Dan Snyder fuged.
  20. Yeah, I don't like meddling owners but we will need Tepper to step in if Rhule starts getting wild with future draft capital. Frankly, if he doesn't step in, it proves that he is an idiot or Matt Rhule really is Tepper's guy and there is no hot seat.
  21. It would be a surprise if he isn't in the room. I bet we won't see a chopped up hype video like we did last offseason. The atmosphere is likely to be considerably more grim.
