  1. As I said earlier, I think injury is the only thing I can see that could derail Chinn's career. However, we have seen stellar rookie seasons end in career disappointment before, so as a general rule I try to wait to make that assessment for at least 3 seasons.
  2. Brian Burns should be able to keep us out of 1998 territory, even if Daley fails. Make no mistake, however, it is genuinely remarkable how bad that 2019 draft is.
  3. Sure, why don't you explain all your misses your first season? How about all your misses this preseason? How about your misses in a one on one competition this week? How about all your misses at VT? How about you explain why you just can't cut it?
  4. If Daley flames out this season, the 2019 draft will likely go down as the worst in franchise history.
  5. I think Chinn can only be stopped by injury, TBH. He just seems to be one of those guys destined for greatness.
  6. Agreed. Landing multiple guys each draft that can contribute in some way during their rookie contracts can be a big aid to long term success. That cheap depth and talent is critical.
  7. Well.....we aren't exactly brimming with talent, so that may not be saying a lot. We have had our fair share of draft picks that started a lot of games in their rookie seasons and didn't exactly stick around the team or NFL long. Not trying to poo on these guys in any way, just saying we might want to slow our roll on crowning them as successful without ever having played a down of NFL football.
  8. Yeah. We have had a lot of picks in the upper portion of the rounds, which helps a lot. Our biggest issue is whiffing in rounds 3-7. That has been what kills us traditionally.
  9. I am not trying to be snarky but how do we chock up 2021 picks to being successes when they have never played a down in the NFL? I kind of feel similar about the 2020 draft picks. It's hard to judge any player that early in their career, good or bad.
  10. Possibly so. Peyton had a SHITLOAD of INT's in his first year in the league. I am amazed at how Mahomes is able to do all that crazy poo and get away with it. That will be something interesting to watch over the course of his career. If the talent drops around him, will he start throwing more picks?
  11. That's the traditional issue with gunslingers as a whole. But, you are seeing a newer breed of much more measured gunslingers. A lot of the young gunslingers tend to take a little better care of the ball as a whole. Not everyone is as crazy as Favre, Rivers, etc. Mahomes leans gunslinger but has a ridiculously low INT%.
  12. Oh poo. Igo dusted off one of his alt accounts.....
  13. It is starting but these games also don't matter at all or rarely feature full compliments of our starting personnel. It will be a lot worse if the red zone struggles extend into the regular season. What we saw after the Ravens game was the introductory version of what we will be seeing in full force if this continues into Game 4, 5, 6, etc.
  14. Two sentences in, I think this is the informative version @TheSpecialJuan providing a reasoned and knowledgeable take and then the regular edition of @TheSpecialJuan shows up for the finale.
  15. You have no sense of style if you can't appreciate that glorious 70's porn 'stache.
  16. Red zone production is going to be a big thing to watch this season. If we struggle there again with a different(even though he may actually be worse) QB AND a healthy CMC.......Brady is gonna start getting questioned by everyone.
  17. Mods, we gotta do what's right here. Anyone trashing the 'stache should be banished permanently.
  18. May consider a lifetime contract based on that picture alone.
  19. Slye will probably wilt again in a head to head competition this week.....then we will cut the new kicker.
  20. Well since we already cut our best kicker from yesterday....
  21. The dinking and dunking aren't fine if there are better options available downfield.
  22. No, I was agreeing with the likely reason why people started to invent that narrative but correcting you that there were MANY posts critical of Gano and his supposed lack of leg strength.
  23. It's certainly possible if the percentage of his QB hurries that become sacks jumps up. If you look at those advanced stats, he's right on the door step of video game numbers.
  24. It's a fine line. For instance, Teddy always took the safest and quickest option instead of gambling. He was cautious to a fault and hampered the offense as a result. Darnold, by his nature, is a gunslinger. Hence why we saw so many awful and ill advised INT's in his career. He leans towards trying to make the big play like most gunslingers do. We just need to get him somewhere in the middle of that scale. "Taking what the defense gives you" while also having the nuts to make throws to score and try to make plays when they are needed.
