  1. Dalton offers the potential to just win games. Unless you are fully committed to tanking, starting to build a winning culture is actually important. Consider that on our fairly young roster that we don't have a lot of guys that have experienced much in the way of winning culture in the NFL. That can quickly permeate an organization and make that hill much steeper to climb.
  2. Fields got less interest than even Sam Darnold when he was going to be traded from Chicago. I think the league largely views him as a 2nd or 3rd string QB and not some potential starter. Darnold I just can't explain. I am not sure I have ever seen such an underwhelming QB get so many chances.
  3. Bryce really has done nothing wrong. He just isn't a guy. Same as Ian Thomas. I never have hated Ian specifically. I hate the successive FO's and coaching staffs that caused him to be a long term and vastly overpaid veteran. All Ian ever did is his job. It's not his fault he just isn't that good at it.
  4. Not seeing a path to success in those moves, TBH. I don't think it would have been a very fun team to watch either. It wasn't much fun to watch CMC and Moore rack up stats while losing 10+ games a year. It was false hope. The root of all of this is the ownership. A capable and knowledgeable owner wouldn't have constant FO and coaching turnover that leads to what he saw.
  5. Even if we didn't have turf, players rarely are falling over themselves for a spot on a cellar team unless they are chasing a paycheck.
  6. I mean, preaching to the choir, brother. I have never been fooled by that dude post-Jets. It's hilarious that people still buy into him.
  7. But Bama lined up every week being way better than most of the opponents they faced. That didn't happen here.
  8. I remember watching that and thinking it was all built on smoke and mirrors. It seemed obvious at the time. Felt the same way with the Darnold 3-0 start.
  9. Middle of the road team. 7-9 wins at best. Remember that is an alternate universe in which Scott Fitterer isn't an idiot and David Tepper doesn't meddle. Not sure that is a realistic fantasy.
  10. There is no healing the arm and he hasn't played in the NFL for quite some time now. There is no reason to revisit this chapter. I highly doubt Cam has any interest in this shitshow, for that matter.
  11. Insane pressure hasn't seemed to impact Tepper much. I think it will solely depend on whatever his whims are.
  12. I still think it won't be until 2025 that he gets the hook. Tepper is surprisingly slow to correct obvious errors in personnel, despite the Reich firing.
  13. They could trade him but cutting will not be an option because the cap hit would be unnecessary.
  14. Herbert over/under 300 yards? Under I expect almost 200 rushing yards, so I suspect the passing yardage will drop. Bryce Young over/under 2 turnovers? Under Bryce Young over/under 200 passing yards? Under Score Predictions? Chargers 27 Panthers 10 Watching: Most likely.
  15. I don't think Tepper is gonna let that happen this year.
  16. I would be surprised if he gets benched this season.
  17. Agree to disagree. I have done many deep dives into this from a statistical and success standpoint and its not a POV I am going to change. The league is essentially acting similarly to the results I found. I am just flabbergasted we made two more massive RB mistakes after we made the last one(CMC extension).
  18. I don't think that applies because CJ didn't have any character concerns I am aware of. I think it was just the difference of how polished and "corporate" Bryce seemed.
  19. Even one great offseason isn't likely to end up with a winning record here, unfortunately.
  20. If we made mostly good moves in the offseason and draft, it would still probably take at least 3 more offseasons to out together a better than average NFL team. If we made mostly average moves in the offseason and draft, it's likely to take longer than five years to put together a better than average NFL team. If we make mostly Tepper Panthers offseason moves, it's likely to take 2.7 billion years to put together a better than average NFL team.
  21. Did the 49ers ability to rush the ball look degraded with a guy that was undrafted in 2022? Again, SMART teams don't spend that kind of capital on RB's.
  22. I wouldn't call that shot until we see what Rodgers is for a few more games.
