Murray is a good QB but if he claims he doesn't need to watch film, he will never be a great QB. Ever. The NFL is all about working to be the best at what you do. Almost everyone in the NFL is talented. It's all about working to get better and better.

Panthers meet with Sam Howell

I kind of figured this would be a UNC Homer circle jerk. I am not sure which are more insufferable, the UNC homers or the Clemson homers. Both completely incapable of seeing their players flaws when it comes to NFL evaluations. -
Yeah, that would assure a tank and Rhule getting fired. Then we can draft a 2023 QB.

Robby Anderson wants Panthers to work out Colin Kaepernick
kungfoodude replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah well he wasn't great at reading defenses when he left so it isn't like he has been developing that skill in the interim. Beggars can't be choosers in the NFL. It isn't the MLB or NBA with all guaranteed money. If he isn't willing to come cheaply, there is zero reason to even bother. -

Yeah and that is what I mean, the max value for Kaepernick is veteran minimum on a one year deal. He hasn't played in forever. And if you want the proof about what he is worth, the guy who just had serious sexual allegations against him had a quarter of the teams in the NFL(ours included) trying to land him the instant those grand jury charges were dropped. It helps when you are an elite player. After Kaepernick got wrongly blackballed from the NFL, he had minimal interest over those 6 years off. Even long after the herping and derping from the triggered goofs that threatened to never watch the NFL again(most of which who were never real NFL fans anyway) had already quieted down. He was never viewed that well by the league as a whole. Take a look at Baker Mayfield at the moment. Same situation. Hell, even the ghost of Cam falls in that category. Fairly minimal NFL interest. If you have elite playing capability, you really have to do some heinous poo to not get a bunch of extra chances(See: Brown. Antonio). -

I had forgot about the Darnold quote but in fairness, the vitriol directly towards him is already so extreme(deservedly so) for how goddamn awful his play is. Also don't forget that he told the Jets they were making a mistake trading him. LOL. But, oddly, I get way more mad at the coaching staff and FO over Darnold. He was the same pile of poo QB with the Jets he is now. He didn't get any better or worse. How the fug do you convince yourself a guy like that is the answer? And, more importantly, how is that not a goddamn fireable offense? -

Nothing about Matt Rhule strikes me as a guy who cares about a player's politics or views. Eric Reid is not on the team because he was bad at football. Couldn't cover poo and wasn't the solid tackler he once was. As I said, I don't care about a players politics or views. I care they are good at their job. -

Robby isn't the cause but he quite literally said they didn't need fans that boo. I mean, I am not out there booing(yet) but don't fuging tell the fans how to fan any more than the fans should tell the players how to play. fuging stay in your lane, Sideshow Rob. He pissed me off with that quip. I was one of the very few guys that defended him during last season while he was struggling but when you are stinking it up on the field, don't you fuging dare talk down to fans. Cam, Luke, TD, Sam Mills, Steve Smith, etc....those guys earned the right to be critical of the fans not Robby Anderson's dumb ass. -

I don't see how not playing for 6 years is not a serious downside. Unless he has been training and preparing like he was going to play that is going to matter. I don't see it as going through any trouble. He gets an all-expenses paid trip to basically work out for a team. That's the extent of it. I literally don't care even remotely about his views or protests. He is free to do whatever he wants, on the field and off the field. I care about his ability to play football and win games for us. So, even without the long layoff, he wasn't particularly good at that either. If he wants to sign a 1 year, veteran minimum deal, fine by me. He can't be that much worse than PJ Walker so you should at least improve your #2 QB. Outside of that scenario, why would you spend money on a mediocre QB that hasn't play ANY football in 6 years? That's about as dumb as trading picks for Sam Darnold. -
Eh....they also might not be a smart franchise too. There is that.
-
It kind of amazes me that we wouldn't be interested in someone line Minshew just to upgrade our #2 QB(and yes I realize he would be a #1 with out current roster). That's actually somewhat as perplexing as the lack of ability to find a good #1 QB. Quality backup QB's should be easier to obtain, but we haven't put any effort into that at all.
-
WTF. Did I miss that? When did he say that?
-
I doubt there is any serious interest in Minshew. We could have had him multiple times and didn't get him, so I suspect we just aren't interested.

Again, we are talking about a guy that hasn't played football since 2016. Not to mention, I am pretty sure he is not willing to accept the type deal that most teams would pay, which is veteran minimum. I tend to believe he doesn't actually have any desire to play in the NFL anymore. -

I don't think Mayfield is overrated. Pretty sure the market has spoken enough that he is rated appropriately now that the Browns have been unable to move him. -

He was done wrong by the NFL, without any question but he is a 35 year old player that hasn't played football in 6 seasons. Also, he was at his very best an average NFL QB. At his worst, he was a backup quality player. And he mocked Cam, so he can suck my balls. And you aren't gonna get to see him play because everyone in the NFL is very aware of his inability to be an effective QB anymore. -

You are aware that Kaepernick only eclipsed 20 passing TD's once in his NFL career, right? Also only completed more than 60% of his passes two seasons? Kaepernick is WILDLY overrated by a lot of people. -

He isn't entertaining at all. The only amount of entertainment he provided was the "What's that bear doing?" And that wasn't intentional, it was just because he's kind of dense. -
It's so frustrating. This is quite literally the worst stretch of our entire season. What makes it worse is that April was by far the easiest month on the schedule. I cannot understand how we ended up this way.
-
I really wish I knew what happened to us over the past 3 weeks.
-
Trash. We are heading into the playoffs playing our worst hockey of the season.
