Well, I don't think Carter is a top 5 lock(TBD). Also, quite a different class of talent in that draft on the surface. Do remember this is largely viewed as an extremely weak draft in terms of elite talent. The 2019 draft didn't have that overall view. Doesn't mean that won't ultimately will prove to be inaccurate, obviously. The 2019 draft first round is fairly solid in hindsight.

What is Dan Morgan looking for at the combine?

Dear God....us and the fuging RAS obsession. Did the ghost of Al Davis haunt us when JR died?? -

Love Walker. LOVE Walker. But....he was rarely elite in college, despite being a freak. -
TBH, our history with players WITH an injury history isn't great. People always love to point to the most insane outlier of all time(and should be HOFer) Thomas Davis, but we get way more Brooks than we do TD's. TBH, aside from that, I would take any of these EDGE/DE guys at #8. Pool is too deep and I am not convinced of how elite Carter is. Look at Burns in college and then Carter. Burns is better, IMO. Better player, better tape, etc. Could Carter just have that next gear that Burns never developed? For sure. But I also think everyone is leaning hard into recency bias and thinking, "Oh this is gonna be Micah Parsons!" Are we sure about that? What if he is Yetur Gross-Matos?

TBQH, I think several of these guys could beat out Wonnum eventually. Possibly Clowney, as well. His abilities will start to fade even more.

It's a small elite group but a massive 2nd Tier group. It's really why I would prefer to get 3 picks in the top 60. With competent drafting, that could be three starters.

McMillian/Johnson/Trade Back are all attractive options. The rest....woof.

If he held that stance in the NFL he would get fuging demolished in short order. They are amazing at what they do but it wouldn't translate. Hence why you have never seen it.

It would be a very Panthers move to take a super deep position with questionable elite talent in the top 10.

We are a fuging mess. I very much regret the trades we have made. They have thoroughly backfired.

Green is a candidate to go 1st round, TBH. Combine will have an impact.

I am going to say something around $3 mil. $10 mil is absolutely bonkers. Not sure you saw that recent ESPN breakdown of the offensive free agents but they had him in the $1-2 million tier for OL(Tier 6).

No, it's mainly just poor evaluation. The league's elite TE's are are heavily represented by non-1st round players. In a draft where TE is so deep, I would say TE at 8 is unwise because there doesn't seem to be a truly elite guy. I feel the same about DE/Edge.

You think he will get $8 mil????
