  1. Yeah, if Shaq keeps up this high level of play this year, he is a core player. I know his contract says he is but he hasn't played like that since Luke and TD have been gone. 2021 Shaq is the guy we all thought we were going to get when we drafted him. I'd definitely keep Luvu around if he remains affordable. We are getting him for next to nothing this season. Carter I wouldn't mind keeping if he is affordable in 2022. Ultimately, I would still pursue potential upgrades in free agency and the draft.
  2. Yeah, they will be trying to keep that core together for a few years and then it might even out. That was my preseason pick once they got Stafford.
  3. Well here is some interesting trade deadline news: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/32526503/sources-los-angeles-rams-finalizing-trade-acquire-von-miller-denver-broncos
  4. I'd have to look at the plays specifically but there are multiple situations in which that might not be on the OL(missed block by RB/HB/TE, more defenders rushing than blockers available, etc).
  5. It's possible he becomes that guy. I am definitely skeptical that he will end up being a guy that is a core player.
  6. Yeah, that usage rate is just insane and Henry is such a physical carrier. That just isn't sustainable unless Henry is just one of those rare freaks that doesn't break down.
  7. No. I wouldn't come to this situation either. If I were him I would come if the Saints called. As a Panther fan, I genuinely hope Payton decides Taysom The Golden Calf of Bristol is the answer the rest of the year. I will enjoy going 2-0 versus them.
  8. Carter is a guy that we need to eventually look to upgrade. He is in the average to slightly below average range. This is the last year of his rookie deal, so unless he plans on taking a fairly small contract, I don't think I would be looking to extend him. His spot shouldn't be that hard to upgrade in free agency.
  9. I realize you cannot be impartial because of your extreme bias. Maybe one day you will realize it too.
  10. Traditionally big backs tend of have shorter careers. Henry definitely earned his money but I am still generally against spending wildly on a RB in thr modern NFL. The Tennessee situation is a little different in that their offense is largely completely built around Henry. Which....that isn't a smart way to build an offense, IMO.
  11. He is better than Darnold. He was better than Darnold last year and he is better than Darnold this year. We get it, you hate Cam. For the rest of us, we can see that Darnold stinks.
  12. Agreed. I don't think they care that PJ or Sam aren't the answer, they are gonna live and die by their decisions. How very Rivera-esque.
  13. 26-28 https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/McCaCh01/splits/
  14. I mean, that depends on the question. Cam is an answer to the "What available QB's are much better than PJ Walker?" question. Cam isn't the answer to the "What QB is the future of QB for the Carolina Panthers?" question. If I was magically the coach today, I would absolutely be calling Cam Newton. He elevates our rushing game immediately and he can be an upgrade at QB over Darnold. Do I think that leads us to a playoff spot? No. But at least we would potentially have an NFL caliber offense to go with our elite defense. This is all theory, however. There is no chance Tepper wants to see the guy he jettisoned come back into the building.
  15. I'd take Tyrod in a heartbeat. He takes care of the ball and runs the offense proficiently. He's the kind of game manager that could steer this ship through a bad OL. Not saying he is a long term answer but he would be a very big upgrade over Sam and PJ.
  16. You are asking for perfect. We definitely don't have perfect.
  17. 100% agree. He has been the biggest loss on defense all year. All due respect to Reddick, Shaq has been our defensive MVP all year long.
  18. Henry's usage rate isn't made for longevity, unless he is one of those outliers.
  19. I think there are ample reasons to question the coaching staff. The entire QB room is loaded with reasons to question them. I would love for them to prove me wrong and sign a decent veteran QB. I just don't think that will happen. I suspect plan 1 is to get Darnold through the protocol somehow and then plan 2 is to start PJ.
  20. I will be interested to see how quickly they abandon the "by committee" approach at RB against NE. I suspect we will see them abandon any notion of load distribution and watch CMC get 90+% of the snaps.
  21. Don't be so sure about that.....keep in mind that PJ isn't an NFL caliber player and has been toted around on our roster for almost 2 seasons now. The smart move would be to bring in veteran help but the smart move would have also been to have done it before the season even started.
  22. I wouldn't mind seeing a veteran QB signing this week. I would be curious to see if our drop issues continue with someone other than Sam/PJ. If not, there is a big issue with the coaching or morale in that unit. Something is definitely up.
