He somehow got back to back 7 win seasons with Zach Wilson as the best option he had at QB. He's a defensive guy and the defense has been one of the best in the league, this smells like Aaron Rodgers is the team's GM now and he won the power struggle.

You threw out game 2 with Bryce where he had 0 catches for 0 yards, so it should be 2 catches for 17.5 in that column. And he didn't play the entire 2nd half of the Bears game due to injury so that's a little distorted too.

Agree with all of this - and I'd also say that if you put a game manager as QB of a team's supporting cast that is below average their flaws get exposed. To me Jimmy Garoppolo is a the perfect example of a game manager. Put him on a team like the 49ers where he can do a lot of handing off and throwing short passes to guys like Deebo, Kittle, and CMC who get chunk plays because of YAC, and having a strong defense to take pressure off of him, and his win-loss record looks great. Then you put him on a team like the Raiders last year and it completely went off the rails for him.

It wasn’t even just Brees playing badly and then magically turning into an HOF QB with Payton. He struggled his first 2 years as a starter with SD, but then made the Pro Bowl in his 3rd year, led SD to a 12-4 record and a division title.

If you go back and watch our game against patriots in 2021, you’ll see why so many are against the idea of him.
