Got dat pale ale too…my man

I mean we don’t have Josh McDaniels as our OC and Belichick as our head coach. Mac Jones is extremely accurate and processes things incredibly fast. He is special there and I underestimated that. Pickett is not that player though. Even so Mac Jones with us last year would be considered a complete bust right now. Different world. I am totally not ready to king Mac Jones as the next great either. He is limited as a player in many ways.

I totally agree…we have to choose which area to address and in this draft it has to be OL. Especially at 6. No brainer to me. There are even non-OL position players worth more at 6 than any of the QBs. It is just a fact. A move down is extremely likely unless one of the elite OTs drop. If we can find a trade partner. QB may have to wait, you can’t find gold in a coal mine If Trevor Lawrence (a generational talent) struggled with a bad supporting cast how in the world is one of these guys going to take us anywhere?

I like evaluating prospects throughout the season. The draft is my favorite sport event period and has been since 20 some years ago. Second nature for me to look for players that could fit our needs all college football season. Part of the fun of watching teams I don’t support. Look if Kenny Pickett was a QB with upside and talent I would definitely be interested. Willis has upside…I can see the argument. Howell as has talent and did it for numerous years. Pickett is a bust every draft in every way. That scouts love him to me says a TON about the rest of this class and not so much Pickett. He is the least rotten egg at this point in time. No upside IMO. None

Agree, but Jake Frohm played better comp in college and was more accomplished. LOL I said he was Blaine Gabbert but I probably shouldn’t disrespect Blaine that way
-
Look if Kenny Pickett was Zach Wilson, Lance, Fields or even Mac Jones the argument would be much better. He isn’t even close to any of them.
-
Not even remotely true but whatever. He was having problems at the senior bowl practices with throwing deep. Small hands do matter especially that small but he isn’t even close to elite in any area whatsoever. Period. His longest throw on a “perfect 6 for 6 day” at the senior bowl the receiver had to reach back and dig it out to make the catch and that was an in route. Not impressed at all with his arm or anything else about him.
-
If we take him and he has fumbling issues or has trouble pushing the ball to the boundaries the coaches cannot complain. That is what you are drafting
-
Yeah I was personally thinking I would prefer Nakobe Dean if the bigtime OTs are gone over these QBs. He is more worth the pick. We could use a LB like him.
-
Pickett is nearly 24 years old as a redshirt senior and was at least there in the offense for 5 years. He may be more polished right now and he should be obviously. However, to ignore his limitations and pick him that early is shortsighted IMO. I don’t see the upside and really don’t like the red flags either. Definitely could be the pick cuz this is what happens when a coach has to win now and can’t wait for a QB to develop. They reach.

Hornets trying to trade PJ for a big man
Shocker replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Charlotte Hornets
Yeah, I don’t see us doing anything before the deadline Especially now the Hayward is out with yet another fuggin injury. -
Yeah exactly

If Pickett is there, we need to trade down with the Steelers
Shocker replied to Chiefzack's topic in Carolina Panthers
If a trade with them brings back those picks we should absolutely listen. If the Steelers do this they are much dumber than I think they are -
Just build the OL and ideally do so after trading down slightly. Again I would sign Mitch Trubisky cheap and roll with him and Sam for now. Keep Cam as #3 short yardage guy if he wants to stay All this knowing next draft we definitely will have to find our QB

Good ole days when they cared…Sean Taylor 1 punter -10

Worst Kept Secret at the Senior bowl (Panthers Interest in Pickett)
Shocker replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
How dafuq does this check the box? 8 1/4 inches Pickett's hands are smaller than most QBs. Last spring, scouts measured them at 8 1/4 inches, putting him in the 0th percentile among NFL quarterbacks. If they actually take this hack at 6 I will be completely dumbfounded. All hope will be removed for me -
Stop being absurd Igor. Cam is not good anymore.
-
Rhule taking Pickett, who would have the smallest hands in the league, after talking arm length all last year would be just perfect

New coach time

LOL…Howell looked great in the Senior Bowl game. No OL as usual. Crazy evaluations based on what I see.
-
LOL…Derek Carr is better than anyone even being discussed. Big Carr fan. Pickett is nothing even close to Carr. Pickett is an amazing bust and if he becomes a backup I will flat out be shocked. If the Panthers can’t see his red flags we are fugged Mel Kiper is an evaluator I love. He is flat out about measurables with every prospect. His love for Pickett is funny to me but I take it with a grain of salt.

Dude…Kenny Pickett is not as good as Darnold. No way man. He will be 24 as a rookie. 1 year younger than Sam. Does not have the arm. Does not have the pedigree Darnold has. He isn’t near the player. The amazingly terrible reach he would be astounding to me. If we pick Kenny Pickett in this draft at all it is a wasted pick.

ESPN sim: Cam re-signs for 1 yr, Pickett #6
Shocker replied to MechaZain's topic in Carolina Panthers
Taking Pickett in this draft is brutal. At six is a franchise killer He doesn’t have 1 thing that makes us better. Darnold is so much better. Such a bust…it is so clear -
Savage…but true
