It's really the Allen Bills. Not the McD Bills. And if he is the type coach that article suggests, he doesn't like the team he coaches being primary about 1 guy that isn't him.

and if McD is (the article suggests it) a tight, narcissistic HC.....I could see the free playing and frankly irreplaceable structure of a Cam/Allen O really would grind his gears. Some offensive systems are designed where you frankly can insert any competent QB and it functions. Cam and Allen operate QB unique offenses. The offenses are overdependent on them. Which makes the team itself overdependent on them.

in all honesty, I don't care. Get rid of anyone the new HC wants to. I'd argue there is no emotional fan attachment to a single player on this roster. And it's been a long time since there were no actual loved players by the overall fanbase.

2024 sets up to be a complete and pointless year. All sets up for 2025 to be the real rebuild. Next year will be about getting rid of folks, working the cap for 2025 and beyond. Bryce gets "one more shot" from a coach who likely won't want to build around such a unique QB.

I made a style of play comparison. Nothing false about that. Allen is also leading the NFL is scoring. If he doesn't see a Super Bowl, it won't be because the Bills have a QB issue that held them back. This would have been a PERFECT year for any of those recent teams the Bills have fielded to sleepwalk into the Super Bowl....but they can't because McDermott has that D in the shitcan. it's not offensive, it's just odd how people keep this repeated theme of referencing Trevor Lawrence over and over in Bryce threads. this year 8-4, division lead, 67.9 completion, top 10 in passing yards, etc. On pace for back to back postseason runs with Doug. He is only in his 3rd year. Just seems like an odd theme going around.

I personally think so. I think he brings a different level of street cred with the players. And I think he is a better defensive coach in general than Frank is an offensive one. I also think Fox and Ron had more motivational fire to them than Frank. I'd rank Fox and Rivera both ahead of Frank Reich as NFL coaches. I mean, it's the same general tier though. I always called Frank an offensive Fox/Ron. I think they are better. I don't think we have done better since we fired Ron Rivera. Ron isn't a good NFL HC. But it's still way easier to find worse.

We would have had a chance if Sam Darnold was the QB. People suddenly can't even remember the last game he played here. 42 yards and 2 INTs. Sam Darnold could wake up any given day and try to give a game away. We definitely would have chance because bad Sam Darnold could show up any time. Only 1 of those is over the age of 24 and that's Diggs. *Allen has largely been paired w/ good D units his career in Buffalo. This year isn't the norm on D. You can play the same game w/ Allen. He has made the postseason 4 times....paired with the #1, #3 and #6 ranked D.

read some more, the article appears to be bashing Sean McDermott. Little else. Paints him in a very bad light. and it appears he isn't actually a fan of the way Josh Allen or Cam Newton play the game. The reference to Cam to an extent is just highlighting how his present day view and treatment of Josh Allen shouldn't be a surprise.

You can essentially do that game with almost any coach to a large degree. Even the GOAT himself, Belichick. All coaches are largely dependent on players at this level. Ron Rivera brings a certain level of competency and respect. It was just a repeat of John Fox. We all wanted better. There is better. Especially in this passing era. But I always thought it was easier to do worse than Ron or Fox. Which we have done.

I still think the football component is just a toy aspect for the billionaire and his wife. It's their bonus fun. And they are enjoying themselves with their Madden-like management. They invested in a sports franchise to diversify and grow their wealth. That was and is the reason they are here. Which it has done in the short time he has owned the team. In fact, it is mind boggling how good these investments are for the mega rich. It makes that Frank/Rhule money flushed down the drain mere play money in reality.

same article (General Manager Scott Fitter) even credited Mrs. Tepper for her role in the coaching search. What struck me most about the comment is how it didn’t sound forced. It was authentic. He didn’t seem to be just sucking up to the owners, but he appeared to mean it. Was Mrs. Tepper the difference in the hiring process that the Panthers needed? At the very least, her insight lent to assembling the most accomplished coaching staff in team history. Mrs. Tepper also has been noticeably present as Carolina has scouted their next rookie quarterback. She has been present for most of the quarterbacks’ pro days, and there are tons of photos showing her meeting the prospects and their families. One can only assume she has also been involved in the one-on-one interviews with these quarterback prospects.
