1st round - Bryce Young 1st round - Smith-Njigba 1st round - Kincaid 1st round - Bresee I traded all our picks. I traded all our picks next year. I traded all our picks the year after that. I traded all our picks the year after that. I traded Sir Purr. I traded Dom Capers. I traded some Bojangles. Traded 2 cheerleaders. I'm a freaking football GM. Yall can stay in your lane. Trust the professional.

I mean Philly did phase him out after that one season. Even if you argue he can do it all…..he is still all we got. Which is problematic. Why not have someone really good behind him at pass catching given we have a rookie QB and want to implement a small ball O? not really looking forward to an ankle injury having our backfield primarily be Hubbard

Fitt and Frank’s Panthers career is going to come down to one pick though. Young.

Feels like Fitt and his staff operate under a vision to emphasis physical tools or select traits over actual football play. Overall at least. Not saying they do it every pick. Might say it applies after the first round. Did do it with the first. But generally saw this the last 2 drafts. which can cut both ways like everything. You end up intentionally passing on guys that have proven to be better football players to date in favor of select attributes and skills. The mindset being you just coach up the superior raw talent. But it can cut the wrong direction because sometimes the dudes that are already better players ….are often actually the most coachable to keep improving. That’s why they were better players to begin with. but obviously favors you if you can turn the talent and skils into a superior football player.

Not worried about that. Sanders can get a yard with good OL play. OL play realistically is most important in getting a yard. And the best QB sneaker in probably NFL history is Tom Brady. I still say the biggest issue is we keep suggesting a dink dunk O with no pass catching RB on the roster. I mean coaches keep saying Sanders can be a 3 down back but they emphasis that because he really isn’t one. Stone hands Hubbard is behind Sanders. I’d rather get a legit 3rd down receiving back. Think that remains a big need.

Don’t have a name today. Haven’t put in the work. largely just pointing out my belief that Fitt and his scouts might have more to do with stuff than the coaches right now. -

Yeah, but there does seem to be some strong consistency between the last Rhule era draft and this one. Some beat writers also pointed this out. Which makes me think it’s Fitt and his scout team leading the show more than our coaches. Also seems like the decision to go to #1 was a Fitt call….and they just hoped Reich would eventually agree to their consensus. I’m still not super high on Fitt and think we should have had a new GM come in to start the new era. -
Ian Thomas experiment has been over though. And Hurst and Tremble don’t have high ceilings at this point as pass threats
-
I think we need to replace Hubbard. Sanders fills the Foreman role. Early downs. Think we need a pass catcher

Steelers took the UGA TE in the 3rd.
-
TE Davis Allen too if Kuntz isn’t still like this area of a draft for RBs. Still need a 3rd down type especially if we want to highlight the dink and dunk.

You watch college football? Fans take the field after rivalry games and or big wins. Common occurrence that everyone deals with. Hell, Clemson fans take the field after every single home game win or lose. Literally every player in the draft dealt with it their entire college career. -

Nah, this is just fandom and excuse making. 24 year olds ain’t “kids”. Be 25 for us in his rookie year. And his last act on a football field was a sucker punching and assaulting someone from behind for a couple words as he walked by. That’s a legit red flag no matter how you slice it. Perfectly reasonable to dislike a team using 2 picks to overdraft him when there was other talent that filled holes in the 3rd. And you keep your 4th. It is what it is. Calling it what it was. Hopefully he can redeem himself of that. But that’s part of the deal at this point. And should be. -

lol. Have at it. I do. I don’t care for the team I support to draft dudes like that. Just not my preference, too many other options. That was literally just 5 months ago and the dude is 24. No consequences on top of it. That’s his last act as an old college player. Sucker punching a dipshit fan in the back because you can’t handle your emotions. That’s not toughness or dawg. That’s a dumbass that can’t handle pressure and emotions. Anywho, moving on….but I’ll stick with not liking using 2 picks to overdraft this dude. -

Not just punch him. Sucker punch to the back of the head. And he frankly faced no consequences for it. His next move was to declare for the draft. And that just happened with the 24 year old. It’s not like it was something that happened at 18 and you saw growth and maturity after. -

BJ did it in the SEC for years though. Wouldn’t call a guy who did it in the PAC12 once the same production. and the mature 24 year old punched a fan. In the back of the head. Just last season. That’s not exactly the dog mentality we have been lacking IMO. That’s dumb on display and lack of basic control. -

Then you just go rent a guy in free agency that can actually do the job today vs wasting 2 draft picks to overdraft a guy. -
3rd down RB. And it’s an area of the draft where you could actually find someone that could play vs be a camp body/project for the first couple years. *bonus points if he has punt return ability i mean if we are running a dink/dunk offense we need that

I mean, the NFL is a big ego world full of people that get butt hurt pretty easily by the masses. But yeah, no one cares when they get called idiots and are criticized as doing dumb stuff. and it was just a simple statement. I didn’t even say fans. Was more alluding the the big picture. Fans, media and their own colleagues. So yeah, I suspect they would prefer to be praised than bashed for their decisions. That’s just a people thing. and it always gets weird where people act like football folks are mega geniuses that shouldn’t dare questioned by mere mortals…... I mean, how could they ever do something dumb. NFL is full of dumb people just like every other inch of society.

it’s just more of a statement that most late round picks don’t wow and work out statistically speaking. I haven’t complained about many in real time. This one stands out and I think the Panthers today probably realize they are going to hear it about this one. Even the ones I don’t love I generally support as whatever. this one just seems like a bad gamble given value, location and cost. It’s not so much the addition of the player it’s the resources used. Screams of poor draft management. Yeah, everything is a gamble. But there is still some basic math/value to how you should be gambling to maximize things.
