  1. I have never really talked about 30 yards bombs. But stretching a D beyond 20 matters and that's Young's biggest issue. Because that opens up the intermediate stuff....and NFL defenses have cheated the intermediate stuff the entire time he has been in the league. From week 1 of his rookie year through his 3rd season.
  2. I mean he got stepped on one play. I'm sure it hurt. He certainly looks fine. QBs have suited up all season w/ grade one ankles and looked worse off than Bryce during the week. Bryce didn't play well. He hasn't in most games this year. That's sort of overlooked with the record. . Canales really needs to find some direction when his 3rd season hits. I think he is using a dinged up ankle to get a look at things with a different style passer and where we are. I do not think any coaching staff has been all in on Bryce Young. We have seen examples of them not being every year thus far. They don't want him playing on that ankle. NFL QBs do that. And he certainly looks like he could do what so many have done this year. What we haven't see this year, is a more aggressive passer with probably the best cast to pull it off.
  3. That was the only justification to draft him. The tree of offense. And they drafted him for that and they got rid of Bryce 2 games in…… there was a plan. the comeback from the dead wasn’t part of it. Bryce doesn’t fit the plan.
  4. Nah, the Bryce numbers are up to date somewhere. We already pulled them this year. His 20+ completion numbers is still super small.
  5. https://x.com/drjessemorse/status/1981075774330356209?s=46&t=f55N0zsNFevD-XGJBWj1-A well, this dude at least said it. Nothing adds up with his injury just like it didn’t last time he was “hurt”. QBs play with very mild ankle issues. Tons of examples this year alone. I think Dave had an excuse to see Andy this week and is using it. D is improved. Run game on point. Team is close to being competitive, it just needs more pop from the passing game. Home game vs the Bills. If you can get a little juice from the pass attach you might turn a corner.
  6. I haven't pulled the numbers, I can't remember where Bryce's 20+ yard completions are.... but I'm pretty sure over the last 3 seasons, Dalton has more 20+ yard plays than Bryce and Dalton has barely played.
  7. I mean, 100%, defenses cheat and the plays open up. We should be taking advantage. Issue is, when we have a team beat....Bryce doesn't turn them into big plays. His ball placement turns them into jump balls giving defenders chances on plays they really shouldn't have (not to the degree they get) or just pushes the WR into the sideline. his ball placement stinks. He doesn't lead his WRs into big plays when those opportunities present themselves. And it isn't in his DNA to really look for it to begin with it.
  8. No NFL D is trying to take the deep ball away from a QB with one career 30+ yard pass to a TE.
  9. No, he would be comically bad. He has 1 completion in his entire career that came his rookie year (per next gen)......all the other ones are incompletions. I didn't count them all up. But he never lands them and technically and never had to a WR
  10. per next gen stats (they are missing a couple though), I can only find 1 completion by Bryce Young 30+ yards down field in his career. He has incompletions. 2023 - week 10 vs the Bears. Pistol. Playaction. I mean, he was in "the in pocket" but there was no real pocket formed to play out of. Must-See: Bryce Young slings 45-yard dime on the money to Mike Strachan Going through next gen, that's the one 30+ pass in his career they have.
  11. I think at a minimum the Panthers have a very broad definition of high ankle sprain that is beyond the classic NFL high ankle sprain of the past.
  12. I mean, there already are pretty of tag lines out there addressing that.....saying nothing changes in the gameplan w/ Dalton really. Generally, you have to nerf things down for a backup but given Bryce has been the QB.....we don't have to dial anything back/down when a backup comes in. if history holds, we actually ramp things up in the passing game for the backups becaue even backups (bad ones) can do more in the pass attack.
  13. Tom Brady was on the injury report basically every game of his career. I also think there is some wiggle room. I think the Panthers have a very broad "high ankle sprain" definition. With both of Bryce's high ankle sprains he has been up on his foot 24/7 from the moment it was announced. High ankle sprains used to take players off their feet and you would be out weeks. With Bryce, it's hard to tell there is anything there.
  14. the deep ball is going away overall because teams are going out of their way to take it away from opponents via their coverage and S play. Big armed QBs and freak WRs you couldn't touch could flip games too easy and everyone went to conservative 2 high looks playing the deep ball trying to erase it. Every D isn't doing that to every QB. that's not what is happening with the Panther deep ball. We know S play vs the Panthers cheats down to play intermediate not respecting or trying to take away the deep stuff.
  15. we are riding the Rico Dowdle train. Rico is the rising tide.
  16. I do think this super tiny window.......is really carrying way too much power vs the bigger picture. Seeing it on lots of topics. Things could really swing hard the other direction in a few weeks. huddle collective will take really hard swings in different directions after just a very small sample of good or bad. Evero is the worst DC in the NFL written in stone to well......maybe.... Canales is a bad playcaller......well, Luke said something nice after a Rico Dowdle goes wild game.
  17. but I do think there is sort of a well placed plan in place and I think last season when they benched Bryce so quickly (and a move that was essentially moving on from him very quickly)........showed that. Everything they have done but allowing the Bryce Young comeback mucking it up does seems to fit a plan. Bryce Young remains the weird puzzle piece given the Canales O.
  18. yeah, we really aren't in a window to be aggressive. This still looks like about a 6-ish win team. All they did was win in the window they always were going to have to in order to get to that 6ish and it took some really flukey stuff even thing (Penix gift game, Rico going Bo Jackson, etc). to me aggressive teams should be teams where making some noise/catching some magic this postseason is realistic. This team doesn't look like they have that ability.
  19. Olsen's been very Carolina positive through the entire Tepper pooshow era. He isn't a straight shooter. Not saying he should be. G-reg got football plans and I think he wants lots of doors to remain open.
  20. Bryce Young's bad throw % has been basically off the charts horrible since arriving in the NFL for a starting QB. 2023 - only 1 QB was worse 2024 - just a slight handful were worse 2025 - that 2 week stretch where Rico went wild has temporarily lifted him out of his standard placement which he was in going into those 2 games. Which was one of the worst in the NFL.
  21. Last NBA draft was brought to you by the WWF. 100% rigged.
  22. https://x.com/lakeshowyo/status/1981327396772204988?s=46&t=f55N0zsNFevD-XGJBWj1-A either he was point shaving in this game or….I’m as a good as a NBA player
  23. they are very different versions of below average. For Dalton to be whatever version of not bad he still is.....he had to throw the ball downfield.
  24. never forget, this is "entertainment" not sport.
  25. Oh, I think that is selective. I mean, everyone can't do it. Just like with everything else. Only select folks are allowed to be bad. They will try to weed out the random people trying to get in on things, it can't be a big thing everyone can get in on. I mean, isn't it pretty well acknowledged the mob back in they day influenced outcomes of sports?
