  1. I don't buy that. They buried Bryce Young for dead 2 games into the season. That always read like an agreed upon deal w/ they hired the chunk ball downfield OC. Carolina just screwed it up.....they left the door cracked and a literal miracle occurred for Bryce that no one saw coming. Wasn't great but it fugged up the plan. That's why I equate it to the second worst botching under Tepper. The first was the botched in season tank job that blew up in Tepper's face.

no worries, I have spent years studying David Tepper at this point. He is already ahead of his "problem". Watch for Tepper to add the coach and bring in a former Panther WR to help mold these young kids up and teach them. Dwyane Jarrett should be rolling up any moment to teach them the subtle art of WR.
  3. Dan gonna be on cracked thin ice in season. People still somehow erase he was Fitterer's right hand man. Fitterer was making decisions off of info coming up to him. Dan painted as the random mythical creature that some how disagreed w/ everything being done. Canales had zero resume. You can't keep giving a coach time when there is no reason to. If things go bad this year.....you can't pretend like you just hired Dan next year. The window to move on from Bryce was last year. He botched it. Now, Bryce he is tied to Bryce.
  4. what you think runs counter to what we know of David Tepper though. That's all I am saying. 32 of these jobs in the world. There is always someone willing to take it. It just won't be who you want.
  5. I think Renfrow just wanted to be in and around football again. And being home was THE selling point to comeback. Carolina was THE pick. Comeback only went about because a team existed in the Carolinas. I don't think he had an illusion of being a focal part of the O. And I think he will decline any interest elsewhere to play.... I'll bet nickel he ends up coaching football for the far and away best football team in Carolinas in the not too distant future.
  6. Dave Canales success or failure ultimately comes down to Bryce Young. And the Panthers have never played a game that caters to Bryce Young. Canales missed his window. No way he gets time to part w/ Bryce and start his rebuild year 3 from scratch....with 2 bad years to his name. Nothing says David Tepper would allow that.
  7. 100% true. As much as I bash Bryce Young. It's failure by design. It's why I went so hard at Frank Reich before it was popular. Despite all the talk, nothing they were doing seemed to suggest they were aware they went all in on Bryce Young. Same w/ Canales. Don't let a couple random games of not being bad fool you...Bryce Young is opposite of what Dave Canales needs from his QB.
  8. that's the only statement on this move that has made any sense.
  9. Dave Canales warned/told folks......he isn't creative. That's not what he does. He is just going to do what he does. I'm 100% convinced that's why Renfrow as cut. Renfrow in no way fits the scheme. and this season is going to be horrible as the NFL adjust to the one year film of Bryce Young in the scheme he doesn't fit.
  10. in 6 years of college football...he saw the endzone 3 times. Dude is not a weapon.
  11. Cade Klubnik could go undefeated(play S in the Palmetto Bowl and pick off Sellers) , win the natty, and Heisman and 10000% you are right ....the name called at the podium would be Sellers.
  12. UDFA with 300 yards as a 6th year senior for the Gamecocks. That sounds like a great answer Dan. meanwhile, Renfrow out there cooking up Jaycee Horn for lunch and Panthers are like....nah, I'm good. maybe Canales should adapt his scheme to fit talent he can get his hands vs acquiring weak talent for all he knows.
  13. Fug it, watch them bring in Steve Taneyhill in here to backup Bryce Young at this point. The Panthers brilliant strategy of building a pipeline from a meh SEC school has clearly not been one that has panned out as a brilliant strategy. UofSC is the #1 college of the Carolina Panthers...factually speaking. Folks at BOA think we in the WNBA. Lord for forbid we add anyone from down the road where they are about to lift their 4th natty this year.
  14. as the guy who spazzed out the loudest about Renfrow being cut.... I'll repeat it again after a day to think about it. Hunter Renfrow plays a very specific niche and he is great at it. But what Renfrow does, does not fit in a Dave Canales scheme. Which I think is why he didn't land a spot. Canales wasn't going to morph his O and Renfrow doesn't play the slot like AT does (2 completely different animals and functions in the slot. AT was out there playing TE variant. They were slow developing routes.. Renfrow is trying to break someone's ankle 5 yards downfield for an easy ball and quick strike. Canales' entire tree is rooted in run, run, deep chunk ball.
  15. Tmac has NEVER logged a real NFL snap. Againt #1 corners each week....Tmac could also have a really slow start to the NFL figuring out how to get open which wouldn't free up anything.
  16. but upon reflecting on the Hunter cut, it's because a true quick slot game is just flat out not something Dave Canales is going to want or need in his O scheme. Renfrow does a very specific thing and you have to want to do that on O. Canales is downfield chunk O. That's not something Renfrow fits. and AT was NEVER a real slot WR here. He was a WR that moved inside because he couldn't get the job done outside. Which means he lacks all the tools of traditional slot WRs. AT was a small TE for Canales and Bryce went to him because Bryce is just going to always go to that area of the field when the other option is chunk on the outside (which isn't his game).
  17. well, Carolina was in theory on the right track. They hired Dave. Seemed to make an agreement they would move on from a QB who 100% doesn't fit what Dave does. They slammed the door on Bryce Young after 2 a mere 2 games and the table was set. But in typical Carolina fashion (much like the Wilks in season tank job)......they can't do anything right. Despite how improbable the rise from the dead was....Carolina allowed it to happen. My avatar will never change.
  18. we are the worst run org in all of professional sports. So it actually makes total sense. and Dave's scheme doesn't value what Hunter Renfrow does. Nor what BY does well. The world of random parts mashed together will continue in Carolina and somehow it's the players' fault when it's really the braintrust who just doesn't know how to get it done. so expect another season of WRs being largely covered. Bryce being near the top in bad pass % because his play style/strengths and the scheme don't fit together....and meh O.
  19. Simmons is the textbook uber athlete…that has no positional home in the NFL. I mean would he better than the 53rd defensive player that is just running kickoff coverage? I’d say yes. Our defensive roster is trash. He is better than some guys but he has no big picture purpose
  20. lol nah. Some gymnastics here to do the standard Panthers have to be right……and that almost always goes wrong. it’s not a devastating health issue….when you get diagnosed and figure out what is wrong….and now feel good. Hunter Renfrow was not running a slant. They threw a slant. That was the INT. Renfrow was clearly setting up his cut. Clear body language of that pick shows him setting it up. Renfrow is better than Moore. Renfrow also does something no one else on this roster does….which this team lacks. It’s standard Panthers being the Panthers. Making easy hard
  21. Worst case scenario is the meh Bryce. Okay. Bad. Good. Where basically see what you want. Basically a repeat of last year.
  22. I don't see how. I have consistently favored young players. So I have zero issues w/ the rookies. Moore nor Renfrow fall into that camp. The convo is only about Moore. Not the young guys making it over him. I have disagreed w/ the Panthers decision makers very often this time of year for several years. The Panthers decision makers do not have a great track record vs those criticisms.
  23. well, what the problem w/ our offense? If you had to define the primary issues? well, David Moore is the total package of all those issues wrapped up into one player. So yeah, the feel good local product and watching his comeback was easily a better sell to the fanbase. There isn't going to be a TON to enjoy this year.
  24. Horn and Tremayne are rookies with unknown potential and ceilings. I'm cool w/ that given we are a development team. David Moore just adds nothing to the equation. Doing lots poorly isn't really a plus. Hunter Renfrow is the best short route runner on the roster and would have been quick and easy pass option for Bryce to help move chains if called upon (no one gets open on this roster for Bryce to get easy throws).
  25. Moore is just a ST warm body. Canales claiming he made it for special teams is just goobly goo for his guy that follows him at every stop. Then it gets repeated.
