  1. Falcons traded up to the #1 overall pick....and that pick won them more than 8 games only once in his career. I guess an argument could of been made for butts in the seat, national relevance, and fun until his off the field problem emerged.
  2. yeah, that is too much. meanwhile in other news, Cam Newton is looking to sign for an outdated bag of Doritos.
  3. not sure I get the logic....of only being willing to trade him to another AFC team. I mean if a NFC team offered you more than the Jets the Texans are gonna be like nah? Sounds more to me like the Texans are just trying to wear Watson down. Be like, we will only trade you to the worst team in the NFL and nothing else. So you might as well come around get back in line.
  4. I liked Last Kingdom a lot too. Maybe I'll need to try out Outlander.
  5. I mean if Trevor Lawrence ain't checking all the boxes. No QBs ever check all the boxes. he is a Madden create a player in terms of his skill set. 3 undefeated regular seasons as the starter. 3 college playoff appearances. 2 natty appearances. 1 natty. (and he beat the 2 best defenses he faced in the college playoffs 2018 Bama, 2019 Ohio St). Football is a weird sport. Tom Brady threw like 57 INTs the game before the Super Bowl and lost the Chicago Bears at one point. Clemson's exits in the playoffs had more to do with defensive implosions throwing the games out of whack than anything. anyone can bust. But Trevor checks every box you got IMO.
  6. Gronk once used one to hit a baseball. I’d wager it is the real thing. When you are on number 7.....it frankly doesn’t really mean much to Brady probably. The physical trophy aspect. So what if they fug something up that sits in building. I’m sure Brady and company learned more can be made. heck, I’d bet Craft has all his rings despite Putin stealing one. Teams got billions. Just order a replacement.
  7. At some point WRs are going to have some real issues getting in....log jam is going to get really bad in about 8-10 more years. 89’s numbers won’t be nearly as impressive 10 years from now. Lot of guys that won’t get in will soon start to catch up with guys who are in. The guys who played their entire careers in the passing era or going to skew things.
  8. While I do dig the marriage of Jake Delhomme and Uncle Rico into one man.... I don't co-sign on giving up a 1st for a 6th rounder who has gone 7-13. I think we can find a high ceiling backup in the draft.
  9. mock should put the compensation it took the Panthers to get to #2. Which is crazy value. I think #4 is as high up as I would go.
  10. I'd take Dak. But I don't see how the Cowboys could let him go.
  11. Same disgraced you tuber dude has been having people streak at all the big recent events. Think it is more about internet clicks and promoting his new adult site. Not saying you wouldn't also wager on it if it was there. Free money for those folks. Super Bowl. World Cup. World Series. NBA Finals. It's all been the same dude behind these things of late.
  12. Still a 15M dead cap hit. Signing Teddy was such a bad move in hindsight. Well, wasn't hindsight to everyone here.
  13. Teddy has a 20 million dead cap hit next year. Hurney magic.
  14. my issue is simply the money. We paid Teddy too much. I don't want to pay another version of Teddy (that happens to throw it downfield but is just pointless in the grand scheme). but I'd rather watch paint dry than watch Teddy play football. I'm definitely more a fan of the Delhomme/Cam mindset for a QB.
  15. None taken. Again, I conceded other teams have Teddy's. Who would are just as eager to part with them as we are our Teddy. We already pay a Teddy to keep a spot warm for the future. Point I am largely making is Carolina this offseason is doing a poor job with the Teddy PR. If bad PR is why Teddy can't be the dude in 2021 you paid him to be.....and that would have been the best big picture option? Seems like an easily avoidable problem and one we created.
  16. what are some of the many options outside of moving up in the draft? I concede other teams have there own version of Teddy B that they too want to get rid of because they aren't the answer. I just think in the end, Carolina likely could of played the PR aspect of Teddy better.....that way we could of rolled with him if needed. I view rolling with Teddy as better big picture option than bringing someone else is isn't a long term solution.
  17. I just see this as a QB flexing his power/influence on his team.....not that he wants out. I think we will see more and more NFL players wielding their power going forward.
  18. Are there? There is the draft? But we aren't sitting in a safe position to get one of the main 4. We will need to move up. Which is fine but I think we are going to work ourselves into a desperate position where a team takes us for a lot simply because we won't be able to roll with the status quo. Outside of a mega deal to get Watson (longshot)....we likely are just swapping band-aid QBs on par w/ Teddy and tying up more pointless money IMO. I personally don't want any QB not named Watson that is out there. Is there really a point to bringing those dudes in?
  19. I do think we are working ourselves into a position where we simply won't be able to roll with Teddy next year. The whole team sport thing doesn't work that well when your starting QB knows a franchise doesn't want him. I think the end result will be us forcing our own hand and trading a poo ton to move up in the draft to get a QB.
  20. but the real question....has any mega show ever pulled off an ending and is it even possible to actually satisfied the collective audience that has invested years into a TV show? LOST, GOT, SOA, etc. most of my favorite shows (and I don't actually watch much random TV) left me disappointed in the end. Didn't watch the Sopranos but heard the same there too.
  21. Rushing the last 2 seasons hurt the storytelling. Which a lot of criticism is tied to that. And GOT always made it clear that storybook endings weren't what the show was about. That said, I still think they botched the ending. At least the one character/plot line that gets the most criticism. I don't think Martin finishes the book....but if he does, it will be interesting to see if he does the same thing the TV show did.
  22. heck, I'd argue sports is more legit today than probably any other time in history. back in the day? White Sox type poo? Yeah, they weren't millionaires like today. You know back in the day all sorts of people were willing to help dictate outcomes.
  23. "you aren't old enough to get that call". starts and ends with the refs essentially. But it is the collective that IMO influences them. For example, Tom Brady is a GOAT. Why when the wind blows he could get a roughing call and Cam could have his head ripped off and nothing. Refs intentionally or not are inconsistent with how they call games. Who is on the field impacts how they call it.
  24. intentional or not....I do think the NFL/refs can and do impact the odds of one team vs the other often. And who is on those teams dictates that. The "you're not old enough to get those calls" mindset would be an example of such. and all it takes is one ref to influence a game. Influencing isn't fixing. But it is impactful. I think it would be tough to argue the Bucs weren't aided the last two games with the way pass coverage was called from game to game. They mauled GB all game to survive with no flags. They lose if that game is called how 99% of them were all year. And if they let KC play last night....Tampa wouldn't of gotten up as the did. Tom Brady gets flags others don't. Doesn't make it rigged. Makes a lot of stuff bullshit though IMO.
