which was an additional red flag going in......because XL is exactly what Dave's O have been about. Chunk pass plays downfield. So it basically is the Panthers intentionally and knowingly doing bad marriages. which would have been okay......if they just went ahead and added some young talent behind Bryce that fit for when the obvious happened. But they didn't.

I mean, at this point, yeah. What I find the most easy to figure out once your fandom is basically dead.....are the obvious bad marriages and build under Tepper. Take going into this year. Literally NO human when asked.... Describe what a coaching staff should look like that could possibly fix a busted out young Bryce Young? Would answer....well we should give him an OC that has never done the job before. Also, we should also pair him up w/ a HC who has never done the job before either....and the icing on that is he should have an incredibly weak resume, that runs counter to what Bryce in theory would perform well in, and let him call the plays too. And that's not even about Dave Canales specifically. It just doesn't make sense how you think that does anything.

Arch Manning will never be a Panther so get that out of your heads.

Last 8 drafts....you saw 2 different teams pull off the back to back #1 overall feat I mean, the league is designed for parity and so that teams hopefully don't. So you largely see the effects of that. But you still have to look at a case by case scenario for when uniquely horrible teams emerge. Which is us. We are uniquely bad. Go to Vegas right now see the difference -

yeah, that's not true. if all things were equal for 32 teams, the odds wouldn't be great that the same team would land it 2 years back to back. But all things aren't equal. -
But to a degree it’s sort of a unique carve out to apply to Tepper that runs contrast to everything else about him Tepper literally makes decisions….and has zero problem going in a different direction. Thats essentially the description and definition of him in everything he is doing. He does it over and over. Maybe Tepper was the final stamp on Bryce at the time. But it’s not the Tepper way to be overly loyal to a decision just because at one time he thought it was good.

Announcer: “His little jump pass is knocked away”

Dalton is trash would Dalton throw balls downfield to help XL, Mingo and Saunders grow and develop? Yes. We saw that in Seattle. Bryce sucking stunts everyone from growing and answering their own questions -
Yeah, I have watched only 10 minutes of his career…..and he has already made passes Bryce literally can’t
-
looks like he maxed out at 12 yards down field. you don’t need to play video game ball but that’s just not attempting to have a functional O. You can’t make life that easy on a D. It’s not even about completing them at this point.

I think Caleb could be potentially as disappointing. So cheer for that

The big tell….is the well all are part. The end would have just been classic player talk. The first part is irritation at Bryce/Canales. and he has been around for a minute. The put it on tape part matters. He is a prime example. Tank it for X talk is only popular here. These dudes need plays. Plays is how they make money. This is a pit stop for many. They don’t care who plays QB or calls plays. It’s a business. They need plays.

I think you had to call that last PI.

Moore got a concussion week 1. Played week 2. Or tried to at least. I think that might not been part of that discussion. Not that he just viewed Jimmy Jam as some pure better option
-
Well, sophomore slumps are a thing. But the Bryce issue, is he just flat out doesn’t have the tools for this league. So there is no slump. He just isn’t functional for the NFL. Cam had a rough start to year 2. Tape does that. Then you adjust to them adjusting to you. Panthers seem to be clinging to this logic of but if everything goes just how we want it on a play he is a fine QB. If the lineman aren’t to close….and if he can see….and if he doesn’t have to jump….and if the route isn’t to far or is super wide open…..he can be perfect.

Maybe you are thinking of Dave Canales. He had a drinking problem. That’s in his book
-
When did he say he struggled with booze? Never heard that did you flip that? He has admitted to struggling with mental health at Bama
-
Definitely the Saints and probably more Harbaugh. I think the Chargers are weaker than they have been but well coached. Jim going to beat bad teams. Tepper should of hired him and just taken his wife and gone on leave
-
Canales and company are lucky they get a week on the road I still think Tepper really struggles with public perception. I think those games where the boos are audible all game over the TV and dominates the talk impacts him. It’s why he pulls over his car and goes into restaurants too, drinks at fans lol. Not saying Canales would be in jeopardy….but do I think it increases the odds of his Monday morning meeting being full of “advice”. Yep. Something like…WTF Dave…you and your newb OC can’t do this?! Where is Jim?! Jim Caldwell. Yeah. Jim is going to call plays…

Panic? No panic. Season is playing out exactly how I thought. outside of the run D being what it is

Reich wasn’t terrible, but he was the offensive variant in the multiverse of Ron Rivera and John Fox. and if you are completely horrible with one of those guys….its a GM/talent issue. And that’s generally going to be your QB. Those are the textbook how to not suck and be average types

I mean I couldn’t be Joe Cool as people politely asked why I was a dumpster fire. But I’m not paid millions to do that very thing. More than just physical tools…Bryce has never seemed to have the standard mental makeup generally seen in the role at this level. I always go back to Eli Manning is really the only dude I have seen work out that just didn’t have it most of his career
