  1. 1. Olsen 2. Allen 3. THE JJ Jansen 4. Mike with potential to move up or down
  2. probably too early given our 3 game stretch of competition to put him over Jared Allen. We got him for a 6th and was a really nice vet cog to that 15-1 machine that was just as much defense as it was Cam
  3. 2024 was always exaggerated play based off how bad he was paired with Canales and excluding the week 18 complete anomaly game of his career you get… Deep passes: 5 of 24 with 3 INTs, 0 TDs. PFF gaslighted folks into thinking his 50/50 and bad balls somehow should outweigh reality and somehow makes him good. Those stats above also include the stretch where he was deemed best deep passer. Which is nutsville.
  4. if we are keeping the main thing the main thing..he isn't a good WR. And he likely does have a roster spot simply because he is Dave's guy. I mean kudos on a good run blocking day. But if all you can really do is run block AND you occupy every snap in a game on the outside......that's most likely going to limit the O and be a more of a net negative than a positive most days.
  5. total lack of situational awareness too at the end of the half by a WR as time ran out on them (it was FG range) It would have been close but it looked like he could of made it out bounds if he actually attempted it. but the QB and playcaller seemed to also lack the situational awareness there too
  6. this thread is about our yards per play. So it by nature is going to be Bryce heavy talk given the ball is in his hands every snap and he is the main driver. This ain't a Jaycee Horn thread being hijacked where Bryce is catching strays. if folks don't like hearing Bryce Young debates....go start a thread on our special teams, or defense or endzone color. O threads are just flat out going to be Bryce Young talk.
  7. Yeah, but you projecting things not said. I didn't say PJ Walker would win more games. I specifically said he would be bad. But PJ Walker's bad is just a far more entertaining version of bad and most importantly.......the threat of PJ Walker ruining the next season wouldn't be on the table (which it is for Bryce). We hired Canales and we all should of known what he was. He told us. If you are wanting some creativity and great scheme you are barking up the wrong tree. You need a QB that can play within what the O asks. This whole notion that no one can do better than Bryce but Pro Bowl level talent is just silly. That's what people are tired. Josh Allen would be 3-0 here. Proof is in the pudding. Take the INSANE difference between Cam and Jimmy with merely largely a TE upgrade.
  8. It's the most important and impactful position and it's not close. And on top of being bad, Young makes the O boring. PJ Walker bad would lead to more convos. Because the play would be more entertaining and there would be zero concern the horrific nature of the QB spot could extend beyond this year (and that is why the convo stays on Bryce because the threat remains).
  9. Bryce has 1 anomaly game to his career 33 game career. That's it. I think if you look at his deep throws paired w/ Canales and omit that one game that just makes zero sense.... Bryce is like 5 for 24 when going 20+ yards w/ 3 INTs. And keep in mind, prior to that week 18 game folks were claiming he was the best deep passer in the league lol because of how PFF chooses to reward a contested ball.
  10. it's early, that garbage time of that Cards doing a lot of work presently in that average to get us up to 24
  11. Every situation is different. Context matters. Carolina SHOULD have one of the better pass attacks in the NFL. That is what should be expected of them. We SHOULD have a bad defense. Only one of those actually played out. So for us to win games, the entire design and choice Carolina made.... was to have the pass attack make up for what we lacked elsewhere at this point in time. When you go all in on offense at the expense of the defense...you judge it accordingly. This is a stat we should be expected not to stink at.
  12. I mean, the Tepper Panthers are the worst pro team in all of professional sports. If we aren’t a team that makes you fire people, then a team doesn’t exist.
  13. #2 run D allowing 2.8 per carry. Cardinals, Cowboys and *Ravens are technically worse. Ravens playing tonight
  14. Hunter would be the talk of the NFL right now if the QB would have simply put the ball in target the past 3 weeks when he was open. CPOY leading candidate
  15. Falcons OC now being moved from the box down to the field When you lose to the Panthers, life gets very uncomfortable for folks
  16. I just think Renfrow is just small…..and that highlights Bryce’s ball placement/accuracy issues. Especially given the routes Canales is sending Renfrow on. they need to actually let Renfrow run his specialty and then mix Tremayne or Coker (pending XL gets back on the field) in for the more downfield stuff (bigger targets problem solve more for Bryce). I think the Renfrow issue is just a QB that can’t put it on him. And it’s a completely different world putting a ball on Renfrow than TMac Some of this is also just Dave. Renfrow and AT aren’t the same. They can’t play like each other. I think Dave largely has just plugged Renfrow into ATs gig. Which was spoken about before the season kicked. Renfrow is an actual slot WR. AT just played in the slot
  17. NFL defenses have shifted to a trend of 2 high to take away the deep vertical balls and limit explosive plays/offenses.
  18. Syracuse fined for faking injuries vs Clemson to muck up the Clemson O. Guess Cade was right on that. First I have seen a team fined for that
  19. True, but he frankly has been open enough he should be league in the CPOY race with good balls thrown to him. Renfrow has been open and Renfrow doesn’t have a hands issue. now does Bryce frankly need the Gettlemen WR logic to be applied and need big targets? I’d say so. I also think Canales doesn’t really know how to use Renfrow and just plugs him into AT role (and they aren’t the same type slot WR)
  20. You putting Renfrow in with XL? Renfrow has been doing his job. The connection issues are largely on the QB and playcaller. I do think we need slot diversity and Bryce really needs more of a TE than slot WR in the slot. Which was AT.
  21. I actually think this aligns perfect. A Ludacris concert at 10:00am that feature a sparse crowd of random 45 year old moms in attendance....before past their prime greats of Dabo and Belichick compete in a battle of he can lose to the other in an ugly game of football.
  22. Renfrow has played virtually the entire game both weeks 1 and 2. I think this was just about David Moore getting XL's role. And thus mathematically the only way to get Tremayne work was to limit Renfrow. Which Renfrow probably should be limited....just not this way. You don't want David Moore playing a full game because he stinks. But he is Canales' dude. Tremayne or Coker or even Horn should be working in to diversify with Renfrow in slot looks.....but you need Coker or Tremayne opposite Tmac when that happens.
  23. I think it is pretty simple. Bryce has lead the NFL in bad throw % since arriving in the NFL. His ball placement often leaves a lot to be desired often. Renfrow is tiny. Tiny wingspan. So it's really going to highlight the fact Bryce doesn't really put the best balls out there for people w/ someone small like Renfrow.
  24. last week the QB finished horrifically when the gimme ball was taken off the table. Couldn't move the ball 1 yard when it mattered. Bryce Young is a backup caliber QB. The issue is the issue. This game altered nothing in the Bryce convo. It was a variant of last years AZ game only in this game the opposing QB was comically bad and they gifted us one. The people calling out the O and the issue in Carolina....are making the most easy and in your face call. It's not even in the realm of controversial in reality. Bryce Young is not what any team wants at the QB spot. We don't need to keep this silliness up past this year.
