  1. because Frank Reich went to the bad QB management playbook and used that play week 2 last year. and it's not a timeout. it's the end of that era pending something drastically doesn't force their hand.
  2. it was always obvious Bryce Young was going to greatly struggling in the type O Canales was going to want to run. The looks and throws run against what Bryce Young is. Talked about ever since the pairing was made. I know I talked about it non-stop. Bad marriages. So that's why benching Bryce does nothing really to change the trajectory. We don't have good people in charge. Will be maybe get better QB from Dalton in Canales O? Sure. But we are further behind than ever before at the QB spot....than we have in the Tepper era. I keep saying it over and over. The Tepper Era really is defined by a desperate idiot at BOA that botches the QB thing over and over and over. And it is without question, he brings out the worst possible outcome for any QB. Andy Dalton is likely not about to have a good time. Maybe a good debut as new and different helps most people initially. So I am prepared for a insane overreaction to Sunday.
  3. listening really carefully.....I think Canales watched the tape and was like OMG this is rough stuff (hence his I had a thought verbage). He then went into his weekly meeting and Tepper told him the Bryce show is over. That forced Canales to go talk to his team about what the new plan now was. because if it was Canales decision, his presser after the game would have been different. Hedged his bet. He didn't need to study the tape to know how horrific that was. Canales by all his talk, surely looked prepared for a long and slow and often ugly progression. He talked about a lot going into this year. And all his players were singing the same song post game. And based on how he answered questions Monday morning after the benching....it seems clear it was Monday morning meeting move by Tepper. Because if it was his call.....it would have been the easiest thing in the world to just say Tepper supported his decision. Which he was unable to say. And reporters did a good enough job sort of forcing him to show the decision hand by his non-answers IMO. and I am 100% cool w/ benching Bryce. They should of built their roster for the likely benching. If you were going to be willing to pull the plug after a 2 game bad start.....then the QB room should of always looked different. Added talent and competition. Jordan Love just went down. They ain't playing Vinny Testaverde.
  4. Trey Lance went for a 4th I think. Got to think that would be the goal area.
  5. sure, it's just a great setup in a vacuum. but as he entered his 17th game of his career....it was still has 3rd HC, 3rd playcaller, 3rd O, who could count what # of OL setup it was....and his HC didn't give him any real time to work on things in the preseason under live fire. It wasn't a great setup in reality for Bryce because all those things before the week 1 game factor. We shouldn't of drafted Young. But we did ensure we got the worst version of whatever he was going to be. And that's a worry going forward, about the brainiacs in charge. Their entire plan going into the Canales era was an utter joke.....and it was still utter joke even if they felt they would move on from him quickly. Because they didn't setup and prep for that being a legit possibility.
  6. First we will trade Derrick Brown to secure the draft capital to acquire DJU why would we need draft capital to do that? I don’t question these things anymore. They just are what they are.
  7. I have finally become one with the crazy mind of David Tepper. Ask yourself this question, what is the worst possible outcome? Then you will see the light and inside the mind of a wealthy idiot
  8. What’s the most Pantherish thing that could happen? Dalton tweaks something. Canales forced to play the QB he benched. I mean, it’s our destiny.
  9. Yep. Bryce can be bad….AND at the exact same time, we can be soul sucking nightmare. That makes everyone and thing worse.
  10. given how new everything was? I think what would add up to nearly a full games worth of reps?? Probably would alter how they could of came into the season. Mahomes played what? basically 3 quarters this preseason? and he didn't use the last game. They needed the work. It was always obvious. With literally every aspect of everything being some new version of new......that's on Canales. But he and his OC are brand spanking new. They got their own growing pains to figure out. Preparing a new team clearly one of them. But it was all bad marriages coming in. Been saying that for months. What happened could be seen coming.
  11. Netflix followed by watching preseason games from the sideline
  12. I don't know, maybe we wouldn't be getting the doors blown off as badly....if the HC actually used the preseason the way it should of been used given we knew we had a bad QB, new O scheme, new OL, new WRs, new OC, and playcaller all coming together. I'm not sure it's a completely separate issue.....we are poorly run org. I would imagine that has something to do with why he looks worse.
  13. Canales' team have gotten their teeth kicked in and he has better talent than Frank Reich did. Both had to deal with Bryce. Canales' handling and management of things still is part of why the mess is as bad as it has been. I mean, we are making Frank Reich look good. I'm 100% in the show me stage with all things Panthers. Until then, it's just new names.
  14. WRs being open vs a meh Chargers team....doesn't mean Tepper isn't being Tepper, doesn't mean Morgan didn't help get us here, or that Canales hasn't done a poor job entering the season w/ this team. why did we hire Canales? the only team that was interested in doing such. He failed that about as bad as you possibly could. So bad it made Frank look a little more competent in that aspect despite Canales having much better pieces. The degree to which Bryce sucked to open up this season....you can't separate Canales from that.
  15. Tepper not holding pressers and being aware of the PR of things isn't him staying out of things. He just benched Bryce. There is no indication he has taken a step back. Where was Canales Monday morning after the Saints game? Same place Frank Reich found himself. Dan has already devoted considerable time helping get us into this whole mess. Canales is just a podium polished and better looking version of Matt Rhule. He already looks like he is in over his head here.
  16. then on top of that.... going into year 2 with a new OL, new WRs, new OC, new O, new playcaller......Canales doesn't let them rep in preseason to start figuring the whole thing out. He gives them 1 series vs backups simply so he could showcase good vs getting his brand new of everything team ready for a season. Bryce is a bad QB. But he isn't the only one who has clearly been bad at this job to open up this season. Canales gets an F too.
  17. Problem is we don't identify the problems correctly. Start with the first year you mentioned. 2020. Problem identified as Teddy B as you said. In reality, Teddy B was perfectly positioned and paid to be a bridge QB. The real problem, was Matt Rhule wasn't capable of doing NFL basics. Practicing, game prep, etc. So you got a know nothing overseeing an all college staff. We weren't being an NFL team during the week. Which Teddy called out after he was thrown under the bus and was right about. We got off a plan into free wheeling nothingness of forever rebuilding and winning now all at the same. Fast forward to that camp where cameras got access for the first time in COVID.....and it was 100% obvious Rhule was just a clown drowing. and all skip to your last 2024 season - QB deemed the clear problem. In reality, we have a front office and leadership problem. This franchise hasn't had a legit plan of action with good folks at the top since the day it fired Ron Rivera. The fact Bryce Young was benched week 2 and the offseason was handled like it was, preseason was handled like it was and our QB room looked the way it did just confirms that. This present team at the top, is still a mismatch of Tepperism. The clear cut problem is you got David Tepper just randomly throwing people together and calling all the big shots too much. Each year we carve out a problem and assign it all the blame and excuse everyone that remains
  18. Bryce doesn't have the tools to be a legit NFL starting QB But the Panthers did in fact create a nightmare scenario for him Two things can be true. And the second one is in fact true. Everyone knows how you ruin a QB.....Panthers did that and then some. It's not about defending Bryce. That doesn't need to be done. Letting the Panthers off the hook for what a bad org they are is dumb though.
  19. all financial type sources estimate Tepper's wealth has grown by several billion since he bought the team. Sports teams are ideal places for the uber rich to put their money. It doesn't matter if the team stinks.
  20. Detroit Lions went 10 straight seasons with a losing record. 2001-2010 Cleveland Brown went 12 straight seasons with a losing record. 2008-2019. It's now our turn. We are only at 6 straight. and here is your steady reminder... this likely isn't bottom
  21. I didn't make an excuse for Bryce. I was calling for his benching before the season started. I have been done with him. Vocal. others just shouldn't be getting a pass for how bad they are. Which is the cycle here. I mean there was always a book of what not to do.....we got drunk and made an even worse version. That's not a Bryce excuse. That's just acknowledging 2 things being true. I bash Joe Brady as bad. Then everyone comes around to it but they then use Joe Brady to excuse all the wrongs that have nothing to do with him. Because he was only a part of a much bigger problem. Then people call me a Joe Brady lover. I said Matt Rhule should of never seen a season 3. Fired. Then people agreed and called Fitterer good. I said Fitterer was part of the problem and you can't use Rhule to deny the other massive issues. Then I was a Rhule defender. Then we fired fired Fitterer, I said Morgan had to go he was part of all those nightmare decisions. Now people pretend Morgan was running counter to Fitterer but silently lol. There is no Bryce defense. He sucks. But the Panthers without Bryce....have tons of red flags and issues. That shouldn't be dismissed in the name of Bryce being bad.
  22. I don’t think he is for benching Bryce in a vaccum the benching simply brings to the front the fact David Tepper is still running all the big decisions. Tepper benched Bryce. And more importantly, it shows the plan coming to this season….big picture, was all trash.
  23. NFL insiders literally bust Tepper’s ball over the fact his wife wanted Stroud
