  1. That’s hindsight though and you know the outcome. Cam could have been a bust. You never know. Option A - spend your first round pick on a young QB - and miss on the pick Option B - trade away all your players, trade away your draft picks….and miss on the pick My argument is option A what we should have done. People too fixated on who the player was. Doesn’t matter. We should have just drafted Fields. We would be better positioned to move on from a miss.
  2. Fields likely will be a strong #2 in the NFL. He at least has some elite tools. Namely his legs. He is a poor mans Lamar. And no one wants that as their #1. No one wanted Fields because no one wants to build a unicorn O for a poor man’s Lamar. It takes a really special player to build a unique O for them. Cam and Lamar. That’s basically it. I think Fields actually best compares to Kapernick. You could see some success in the right O…..but that’s such a rarity for that to align
  3. again, too much fixation of Fields. It’s about management. what we did was think we were super smart and traded away CMC, DJ Moore and a host of draft picks….to acquire a much worse QB than Fields. It’s essentially just an argument to not try to outsmart the draft and mortgage your team for a player. Odds are we would be better off today just using our picks as they are. So you draft Fields if you thought you needed to try a young QB. If you miss…you likely don’t become the biggest joke in all of pro sports. And that’s what the desperation at QB has resulted in. Stupidity. Drafting Fields would have just been a miss. We would not be the joke we are today. Maybe still bad. But not so far behind.
  4. Yep, they all elevated him. Bama has never had QB play elevated those around them. It’s pretty consistent.
  5. Yeah, because it’s not so much about Fields. It’s about not being stupid and thinking you are a genius that can out think the random lottery that is the draft with crazy and dumb moves. so you if you need a young QB you draft one where you can….and you then get to keep CMC, DJ Moore and a bunch of draft picks that help make your team better. So when Fields isn’t what you wanted him to be….you are in a much better place than we are today. * it’s not actually about Fields.
  6. That was the birth of the Seattle fixation IMO.
  7. Ok. But that’s not a rebuttal of the point. Still better than Young….and you keep CMC, DJ Moore and a bunch of draft picks. and the team would have been more fun to watch on top of that. and if Fields sucked here (not Bryce suck mind you)….you draft again. But you still have all your studs and draft picks.
  8. Panthers should have just pulled the no brainer move that fell into their laps. Drafted Justin Fields at 8. Kept CMC . Kept DJ Moore. Kept their draft picks. NFL is way too hard to think you are the smartest guy and the room and can trade away everyone and everything for a dude. yeah, we might not of solved the puzzle doing that….but it would have been a more fun ride and more enjoyable team to watch. And probably not the worst in all of pro sports
  9. He also is one of those kids that basically only played on super squads. Transferred in high school to play on a super team. Went to college and played on a super team. To an extent, playing on a super team doesn’t require a superstar QB….requires a certain level of play to allow that freaks to be freaks around you. See basically all Saban’s QBs. Basically for over a decade they all were just good college QBs. None ever went to the NFL and were great QBs when the playing field leveled out.
  10. To be really fair….Canales was saddled with him. Dan Morgan could have just as easily been 100% part of the Bryce sales job as he could have been opposed to it. To me it’s similar denialism we used when we blamed Rhule for Fitterer being bad and that he was actually good. He was never good. And we have no actual evidence Dan was against Bryce. I doubt Fitterer won the Bryce war with literally everyone against the move.
  11. I mean, I don’t know if I blame Evero…front office chose to “fix” the O and let the D talent go. Think he was essentially originally setup to be the scapegoat for the year. That’s what NFL teams largely do. Well, it’s not us, it’s just THAT guy. It’s Marty! I mean, it was Ron. It’s Joe Brady making Rhule bad! We all know Rhule was the all powerful holding Fitterer back! It’s Fitt! He has to go….the real smart guys are the ones behind him. Frank doesn’t know football anymore! We just need a young HC. It’s a QB league. You have to find a QB. Do that, and lots of coaches and GMs can do the job.
  12. it’s a horrific marriage orchestrated by Tepper In no sane world would you have a horrible young QB that you over invested in and think the solution would be…to pair him up with a newb OC that has never called an O and a newb HC (with a grand total of 1 year under his belt as a coordinator). We did that.
  13. he highlighted one play….but there were several in the game where it tough to deny Bryce Young can’t see often because of the lineman in front of him.
  14. Bet Tepper wasn’t in the mood for sunshine and rainbow talk during their Monday morning meeting.
  15. Alabama largely faces teams that are flat out weaker than them across the board. They might of seen 1-2 games a season where an opponent had comparable bodies. they could sleep walk to a natty with a QB that couldn’t throw the roster was so good and did. Hurts didn’t learn to throw into he went to OU in reality.
  16. Too much, Ticketmaster going to add on fees. should just stand outside stadium and say I’ll fill a seat if you give me some beer money
  17. Sanders side of the story “This is a lie,” Sanders said in a text to Martin. “Please ask them to report who I told this to. There’s no ACCOUNTABILITY in that business anymore. None! This is also a guy that has had a bone to pick since I arrived. God bless him. They all want & need attention in this dying day of media jockeying for stability.” Their press release response. When Shadeur Sanders scores, the band will wait a moment for a small snippet of Shadeur’s song to play before immediately kicking into ‘Glory, Glory Colorado basically Sanders confirming the general gist of the report. With the added, I didn't tell nobody about this.....and the we just ask them to wait so my son's theme music can play first.
  18. I mean, you can fact check it down to local media and a professor at the school. That's where Barstool essentially is retweeting the info from. It's not really from Barstool. It's from this guy. Jake Shapiro is a sports analyst for DenverSports.com. Shap also works as an adjunct sports media professor at his alma mater, the University of Colorado-Boulder. Previously, Jake worked at the Denver Post in breaking news and has covered the Colorado Buffaloes, Rapids and Rockies for years and what do they play after a Sanders TD? His theme music. Just like dad lol. Where's my theme music at!!!
  19. well, it's 2024. Message boards aren't how the youngsters talk sports. I would assume the average age here skews older. Folks that enjoy the routine banter/discussion with familiar nameless accounts that brings some consistency to actual discussion vs the one and done yelling into the void of bigger social media. plus, we suck and have for a long time at this point. Most Panther fans wouldn't even recognize our best player at this point out on the streets. Outside of maybe noticing that random fella is quite large and moving on with your shopping trip.
  20. the family project only has 1 more year to go. Then Deion can devote his time to NFL draft. Where’s my son’s theme music!
  21. I think too many inking in Brooks as some surefire stud that is about to just walk into the O. Lot of sure thing RBs that have been drafted high of late have disappointed. We haven't seen him to a single rep vs pros.
  22. public service announcement. one day a bad team will have a bad day when they play us. There is no such thing as a sure thing in sports.
  23. that's the game Dave plays. Sets up for the chunk pass play. Bryce was looking dead at it. WR even put his hand up. Got to make the throw and eat the hit. That's football. Carr did it. It happens every week. Sometimes the play comes down to a QB be willing to take the hit and make the D pay.
