Ken Lucas wasn't a one hit wonder. When the cliff finally showed up he just went flying over it hard and fast.
-
Not just from time to time. The O's he has been around have been uniquely dependent on the chunk play vs the rest of 32 teams. XL was just icing on the cake of that assumption. Bryce flat out doesn't fit that. And IMO, that is why you haven't seen this O rep yet. They ain't ready and it would only clue in more folks.

Different perspective for not starting the starters in preseason...
CRA replied to musicman's topic in Carolina Panthers
I mean, it just a variation of the take that was applied last year....and which was basically correct. only real difference is the vet Frank gave a tiny look at Bryce. But he didn't rep Bryce like you would because it was just going to highlight the fact he couldn't function in the base O. Which he couldn't. and it doesn't take rocket science to know Bryce flat out doesn't fit Canales' chunk pass game. -

Canales is boring and vanilla. Looking at last year vs this year, the only actual difference in the too many voices narrative....is the newb OC that won't be calling plays, is from the same coaching tree. That's it. -

this feels very much like Frank isn't showing much and once the season starts he unleashes a secret O that teams won't be able to stop. No film on it! -
Miles Sanders is literally one of the worst rec RBs in the NFL over the last half decade. If that's the plan, it totally makes sense it's the plan in Carolina.
-
Id argue it's merely the principle of it. Coach: We can't play the starters! We got to evaluate the bottom of the depth chart. Reality: We see our first TD in what feels like decades by a guy that just wills it to be. Reality: Panthers PR then highlights said player Coach: Ya gone! And replaced by another RB I mean, so we make fun of that and blast that. Not because of the actual RB himself but big picture....it's just more nonsense by this org overall. All we can do is talk about what they give us. That's what they give us.
-
What else do we have?
-
I mean, the org literally put out a hype piece on Dillion....cut him and replaced him with another nobody. Neither are making the team. But if that doesn't send a message that everything is bullpoo I don't know what does. We are a clown show. Not because of any of these moves though.
-
The team signed cornerbacks Chris Wilcox and Quandre Mosely after a workout on Monday. They also signed cornerback Willie Drew, wide receiver Sam Pinckney, and running back Jaden Shirden, who were here in camp earlier this summer. lol, they even added a RB after cutting Dilion. Just goes to show, nothing actually mattered in that game. Decision was made on him regardless of that game.

someone got to play the next preseason game. Get ready for 4 more quarters of Plummer
-
loved how Panther PR put out the hype piece on that RB being the signature statement of what Canales was about... then...
-
waived/injured - CB Lamar Jackson and WR Tayvion Robinson cut - RB Dillion Johnson IR- QB Jake Luton and DB Anthony Brown per Joe Person's twitter

REPORT: Panthers changed the offense 3 times last season
CRA replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I mean, I just think there are Bryce and Stroud differences. I think Stroud can be inserted into offenses in a manner you can't do with Bryce. I think even last year, Stroud fits into Frank's O better. I think Stroud fits into what Canales has been around better. I think Bryce is a unicorn. We opted to draft a unicorn and not treat him as such. And nothing really matters if you don't treat him as such. -
Dabo tried to tell ya'll. Dabo was right about college football...and the big machine sent folks to attack him. I mean, you can dislike Dabo, but he generally has had solid takes on how they are ruining college football. And are looking to continue to do. And like Dabo always said, there is a way to put money in the pockets of these kids (which he had no issue with) without ruining the game (which he was against).

What is the benefit to benching starters for the preseason?
CRA replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
we don't even know if the OL can play well enough to see what the Bryce and playcalls can do yet. Still worried about the C play imploding it all. A couple drives in preseason would take care of certain questions marks instead of searching post week 1. I think Canales finds himself where Frank did personally. His starting O just doesn't work yet to really been seen. And given how green he and his OC are......they opt to keep it on the shelf vs token appearances. To me, that makes the most sense. Bryce is bad enough, it doesn't matter if the OL has a 2nd stringer in it at a spot. There no chemistry that exists with these dudes to begin with. He needs reps. He needs snaps from Corbett. He needs to take some basic throws in the O. -

Do you actually have 17? Canales is installing a brand new O scheme. Our OC has never been an OC. Featuring an brand new OL where everyone has someone brand new to their left or right (with a C that has never played C).....featuring a green raw QB already on his 2nd new scheme in the NFL. I don't see how those are a legit 17. Maybe he doesn't have the OL to run it. -

con is pretty big IMO if you are looking big picture. Can Canales make it work with Bryce. That needs to be answered this year. Delaying looks and reps, delays knowing that. And we know Frank had to do tons of tinkering to try to find something that work. Canales is guaranteeing a slow start. Delaying figuring out what does and doesn't work with a unicorn QB. Worst case scenario is Bryce remains and unknown after this year. -

lol, so this. they were literally trying to kill the clock and take the L. And they did exactly that. I can’t believe we let this Panther bot back on here to gaslight lol -
I mean if you were suiting folks up for a fantasy game and you wanted to win….everyone is picking CMC at RB. Stew getting a bump for time plays and CMC dinged. Even DWill got a vote

NFL pass games just aren’t going to work right given this. Bryce is going to need a Bryce creation -

It’s what it’s all such BS talk. Canales is doing it too. They try to gymnastics there way to some partial truth and pretending that’s all it is. and I give them all a pass there to an extent at the podium. It’s PR for a football team. It’s how you look out for your players or teammates. I just hate when folks argue but X said Y so that has to be true and if you disagree you are wrong. Football teams are BS machines. Especially when it comes to dealing with the media
