  1. yeah, reps aren't meaningless for bad players. Especially bad young ones.....in a new offense, playing with a lot of new teammates on the OL and at WR. Neither are live reps in games that don't count yet. veterans got nothing to do with young, healthy, bad players, that are quarterbacking a brand new O, with a brand new OL, and WRs. Reps matter. Which is why you can't find any Bryce Young comparable. Because they are all out there getting reps going into that type season. NFL coaches have proven those reps do matter. If they didn't, you could name similar players to Bryce Young that have followed this path the only thing IMO that would make it okay not to be working a bad young QB coming off last season, in a brand new O, is if he himself was actually dealing with an injury or was coming off one. We know he isn't the latter. But if he was currently banged up I could accept that.
  2. I mean, to me it really just a coach gripe. Nothing Bryce can do but tight rope answers that aren't anything. but yeah, I thing people should care about Bryce Young developing, growing and getting reps going into a season. He is a young bad player. In a brand new offense. With a brand new OL. People would be hard pressed to find an example of another young, bad QB, in a brand new O that was held out of preseason work. Not even talking about just this year. But any year. It's not normal. So it stands out. I mean, I think people should care about the worst team in all of professional sports.....trailing blazing down their own unique ways to "fix" things.
  3. Horn has massive upside. Horn has little trade value You just keep Horn. Then you let him walk when his rookie deal is done.
  4. David Gettis and Ian Thomas are the preseason wonders GOATs.
  5. "I like playing in the preseason, honestly. Getting in there, trying to make sure that we're doing stuff the right way, and then getting out, trying to keep everybody healthy. And then playing the sport that I love. So I'm excited for the opportunity. Hopefully, we can hold off the rain a little bit and go out there and play a good football game against a good team." I mean, that's a standard answer. His coach can also give standard answers to the press about which quarters he will play, what quarters others will play, who and what.....and doesn't wait until game day to slip it out.
  6. Ken Lucas wasn't a one hit wonder. When the cliff finally showed up he just went flying over it hard and fast.
  7. Not just from time to time. The O's he has been around have been uniquely dependent on the chunk play vs the rest of 32 teams. XL was just icing on the cake of that assumption. Bryce flat out doesn't fit that. And IMO, that is why you haven't seen this O rep yet. They ain't ready and it would only clue in more folks.
  8. I mean, it just a variation of the take that was applied last year....and which was basically correct. only real difference is the vet Frank gave a tiny look at Bryce. But he didn't rep Bryce like you would because it was just going to highlight the fact he couldn't function in the base O. Which he couldn't. and it doesn't take rocket science to know Bryce flat out doesn't fit Canales' chunk pass game.
  9. Canales is boring and vanilla. Looking at last year vs this year, the only actual difference in the too many voices narrative....is the newb OC that won't be calling plays, is from the same coaching tree. That's it.
  10. this feels very much like Frank isn't showing much and once the season starts he unleashes a secret O that teams won't be able to stop. No film on it!
  11. Miles Sanders is literally one of the worst rec RBs in the NFL over the last half decade. If that's the plan, it totally makes sense it's the plan in Carolina.
  12. Id argue it's merely the principle of it. Coach: We can't play the starters! We got to evaluate the bottom of the depth chart. Reality: We see our first TD in what feels like decades by a guy that just wills it to be. Reality: Panthers PR then highlights said player Coach: Ya gone! And replaced by another RB I mean, so we make fun of that and blast that. Not because of the actual RB himself but big picture....it's just more nonsense by this org overall. All we can do is talk about what they give us. That's what they give us.
  13. I mean, the org literally put out a hype piece on Dillion....cut him and replaced him with another nobody. Neither are making the team. But if that doesn't send a message that everything is bullpoo I don't know what does. We are a clown show. Not because of any of these moves though.
  14. The team signed cornerbacks Chris Wilcox and Quandre Mosely after a workout on Monday. They also signed cornerback Willie Drew, wide receiver Sam Pinckney, and running back Jaden Shirden, who were here in camp earlier this summer. lol, they even added a RB after cutting Dilion. Just goes to show, nothing actually mattered in that game. Decision was made on him regardless of that game.
  15. someone got to play the next preseason game. Get ready for 4 more quarters of Plummer
  16. loved how Panther PR put out the hype piece on that RB being the signature statement of what Canales was about... then...
  17. waived/injured - CB Lamar Jackson and WR Tayvion Robinson cut - RB Dillion Johnson IR- QB Jake Luton and DB Anthony Brown per Joe Person's twitter
  18. Dillion Johnson officially cut lol https://x.com/josephperson/status/1825626620872266238?s=46&t=f55N0zsNFevD-XGJBWj1-A
  19. I mean, I just think there are Bryce and Stroud differences. I think Stroud can be inserted into offenses in a manner you can't do with Bryce. I think even last year, Stroud fits into Frank's O better. I think Stroud fits into what Canales has been around better. I think Bryce is a unicorn. We opted to draft a unicorn and not treat him as such. And nothing really matters if you don't treat him as such.
