  1. Mingo has ran a ton of horrific routes. I still go back to those public comments about how Mingo was just too good to take off the field. That’s when our punt returner pretty publicly seem to call that out. Wonder if there was just some top down order on how Bryce and Mingo had to be played/repped. Because what the coaches were saying…..wasn’t jiving with what was happening on the field with Mingo. I mean Mingo is a raw-ish rookie. Hard to have him on the field so much with a rookie QB IMO as the plan. It’s hard enough with a rookie QB. Mingo IMO has been too heavily featured given where he is as a WR. You can’t just be confident in a slow Adam Thielen. And teams are really now starting to take Adam away.
  2. If Frank demands you copy and paste a % that makes up the core and bulk of a playbook…..then that’s not writing a playbook on your own. Then on top of that, we don’t have players that can do what the plays needed. they are now trying to do the Steve Wilks makeover to finish respectable.
  3. both also found themselves in poo spots with poo HCs though. Brand new OCs are going to need help. And time. Brady nor Brown got opportunities in good spots to see success. And much like rookie QBs, they have to learn on the job. You don’t know what really work until you go through some trial and error. And they landed in Carolina, a place that can’t really afford to allow a green OC take their own lumps. Fanbase definitely ain’t got time for on the job learning. Brady showed his potential right away. Really good between the 20s for a first timer. Think it might of gone different if paired with a legit NFL HC that could have helped prioritize the ways of the NFL. Hard to imagine things being the same if he was paired with a legit NFL HC. Pretty sure McD is going to have both his units working a lot of red zone lol. That’s not up to a young coordinator. Brown never called a play before coming here. I still do not believe he was ever intended to legitimately call plays this year. Frank let him call 2nd half of preseason games. That’s insurance salesman on the field. That’s not prepping someone to call plays this season. Maybe Frank would make it a slow joint effort in the end if things went well. Fully believe Frank was forced to give him the clipboard and then got it back with it became clear Frank’s job was on the line in season.
  4. I didn’t say we could. but organizations that employee good people have proven the NFL rebuild can happen in 2 seasons. We have several things handicapping us from that possibility.
  5. It doesn’t take long to rebuild in the NFL if you are good and lucky…. you can be the worst team in the NFL and in the postseason 2 years. BUT it’s largely still QB centric. We are in a QB pickle so to speak. We got no first and dumped a bunch into Bryce. So, he gets another year. Which at this point looks pretty pointless.
  6. The skill talent they added this offseason wasn’t catering toward Bryce. It’s one of the many examples of no vision in Carolina. Everything was random parts thrown together.
  7. All it would take is a bad Sunday and Mahomes and Hurts could jump Allen. It’s not like he has run away with turning it over and is some anomaly. Which is sort of what the article hints at, McD gaslighting to an extent to deflect from himself.
  8. and frankly, I bet he struggles with knowing he isn't the most important piece to the Buffalo puzzle. The coach doesn't matter as much as the QB. Allen becomes the irreplaceable component. It's really the Allen Bills. Not the McD Bills. And if he is the type coach that article suggests, he doesn't like the team he coaches being primary about 1 guy that isn't him.
  9. yep, he was sold as basically a poor man's Dabo (minus the religious angle). that's not what Rhule was. I don't know what he was. A lucky college coach that fluked into some respectable seasons off D paired with meh offense.
  10. and if McD is (the article suggests it) a tight, narcissistic HC.....I could see the free playing and frankly irreplaceable structure of a Cam/Allen O really would grind his gears. Some offensive systems are designed where you frankly can insert any competent QB and it functions. Cam and Allen operate QB unique offenses. The offenses are overdependent on them. Which makes the team itself overdependent on them.
  11. in all honesty, I don't care. Get rid of anyone the new HC wants to. I'd argue there is no emotional fan attachment to a single player on this roster. And it's been a long time since there were no actual loved players by the overall fanbase.
  12. McD at least confirmed yesterday he did use hijacked planes on 9/11 to help get his team to see "teamwork".
  13. 2024 sets up to be a complete and pointless year. All sets up for 2025 to be the real rebuild. Next year will be about getting rid of folks, working the cap for 2025 and beyond. Bryce gets "one more shot" from a coach who likely won't want to build around such a unique QB.
  14. I made a style of play comparison. Nothing false about that. Allen is also leading the NFL is scoring. If he doesn't see a Super Bowl, it won't be because the Bills have a QB issue that held them back. This would have been a PERFECT year for any of those recent teams the Bills have fielded to sleepwalk into the Super Bowl....but they can't because McDermott has that D in the shitcan. Which is why articles like this have suddenly appeared. Because they see how McD just blew it.
  15. I mean, everyones time eventually runs out. I think Ron should of retired when his cancer hit.
  16. it's not offensive, it's just odd how people keep this repeated theme of referencing Trevor Lawrence over and over in Bryce threads. this year 8-4, division lead, 67.9 completion, top 10 in passing yards, etc. On pace for back to back postseason runs with Doug. He is only in his 3rd year. Just seems like an odd theme going around.
  17. I personally think so. I think he brings a different level of street cred with the players. And I think he is a better defensive coach in general than Frank is an offensive one. I also think Fox and Ron had more motivational fire to them than Frank. I'd rank Fox and Rivera both ahead of Frank Reich as NFL coaches. I mean, it's the same general tier though. I always called Frank an offensive Fox/Ron. I think they are better. I don't think we have done better since we fired Ron Rivera. Ron isn't a good NFL HC. But it's still way easier to find worse.
  18. We would have had a chance if Sam Darnold was the QB. People suddenly can't even remember the last game he played here. 42 yards and 2 INTs. Sam Darnold could wake up any given day and try to give a game away. We definitely would have chance because bad Sam Darnold could show up any time. If we faced the 2022 PJ Walker Wilks Monster Squad variant.....we lose by 100.
  19. RB: Cook WR: Diggs, Davis TE: Kincaide I wouldn't call that old and slow skill talent Josh Allen has. Only 1 of those is over the age of 24 and that's Diggs. *Allen has largely been paired w/ good D units his career in Buffalo. This year isn't the norm on D. You can play the same game w/ Allen. He has made the postseason 4 times....paired with the #1, #3 and #6 ranked D.
  20. read some more, the article appears to be bashing Sean McDermott. Little else. Paints him in a very bad light. and it appears he isn't actually a fan of the way Josh Allen or Cam Newton play the game. The reference to Cam to an extent is just highlighting how his present day view and treatment of Josh Allen shouldn't be a surprise.
  21. He basically has Cam Newton minus the showboating in Buffalo. It's the same QB play.
  22. Trevor had a winning record, won the division, and went to postseason in his first year with Doug. Finished top 10 in yards. Trevor has a winning record this year with Doug, leads the division and would be in the playoffs if they started today. Currently top 10 in yards. How has a 2nd and 3rd year player not been executing? Also completing 67% of his passes his 2 years with Doug.
  23. Depends. The Matt Rhule 2022 squad? Might be a coin flip. The Wilks 2022 squad? Wilks by 10.
  24. I don't think he is a bum. I just don't think he is Garrett or Crosby or Bosa. I think he is Reddick-ish. And probably I'd put Reddick ahead of him. Burns just isn't in the tier of money that was talked about all off season. Would love to have him. I don't want to handicap building a good roster because we comically overpay our frankly 3rd best defender as if he was Julius Peppers caliber player.
  25. Did you ever notice how that Frank guy never showed any emotion. There's just something about him Dave. We got to have him. And that Bryce fella. So cute. I could put him in my pocket and take him home.
