  1. he has 2 years remaining after this year and that would include picking up his 5th year extension. to date he has played in 42% of our games with no sign of suiting up any time soon. why would you want to pay a guy like that? Exceptions shouldn't be the rule. We already lucked into a freak exception with Thomas Davis. You shouldn't pay someone made of glass because it MIGHT change. And what's Horn's best game to date. Who did he shutdown? I mean, he had crazy potential. I think he has it pending he could ever stay healthy. But he hasn't even been healthy enough to ever show anything of note.
  2. Horn has suited up for 42% of his available games. Not sure you can even say a legit QB/WR combo has even tested him out yet in his career. The Bengals game was over in the 1st quarter. Joe Mixon just had a field day. So you we can't even use that game to see what he can really do vs the best.
  3. Still don’t see how anyone can argue a higher trade value for Horn than Brown. Not sure you presented it.
  4. Chinn barely plays at this point. And frankly, he has been nothing but message board hype post his rookie season. Carolina clearly doesn’t know what to do with him. It’s the tweener problem. I think the fan base overvalues him at this point.
  5. Not sure how anyone can argue a higher trade value for Horn than Brown.
  6. I get he is cheap now. But that's also what would make him potentially attractive to a good team. you want them to extend and pay a DB that has been that comically injured? If you don't.....then he isn't part of our plans. Even if he balls out this team isn't going to do anything next year. So he just ends up walking. Why not get stuff for assets that aren't part of the long term plan. Because our future success would have to be in the long term not short term.
  7. we are rebuilding though. We aren't contending this year or next. So what purpose does he really serve if he isn't part of the long term plan. And Horn shouldn't be part of the long term plan and be here after his rookie deal is over. His injury history says we shouldn't extend him to money.
  8. he is marketable in the sense he is a high tier player when healthy and has another year on his rookie deal. So if you are a good team. He would make a lot of sense if you had a hole in your secondary. we can't extend his contract. not to a deal that matches his talent. we aren't going to do anything of note next year. Right thing for us given his history would be to let him walk. I would trade him if you could find a deal for him.
  9. What is going on with that Raiders receiving talent is weird. Adams is still on of the best in the game. Refrow was largely regarded as the best pure slot player in the game. And Raiders have been like, nah.....we don't want to throw to those people.
  10. I'll try to word it again. You can call me a Matt Rhule hater. It's true. I could however find posts where I defend him. That doesn't then mean I am not a Matt Rhule hater. arguing about things in absolutes is bologna. They don't really exist. Calling me a Matt Rhule hater doesn't mean that literally every word I utter is negative about him. and I don't think you really read what I said. I don't give a poo what anyone here thinks. And I fully support threads without bitching or just for bitching. Label it and stay out if that's not your thing. None of it matters to me. I wasn't a big Joe Brady defender. That's what the Matt Rhule sunshine brigade labeled me. I was a defender of not allowing a green and weak first time OC to be the scapegoat for how horrific Matt Rhule was and what he was doing here. And I stand by every thought I had on that. Brady was what he was. Matt Rhule sunshine squad wanted him to be the fall guy for the Rhule shitshow at that time. I wasn't having it. It was Rhule. It was Fitt. Joe Brady was just a green OC trying to learn. He was never the biggest problem. And I think that is pretty well proven.
  11. huddle going to huddle. my favorite part of the huddle is when people suddenly act like it used to be different in the good old days. In the good old days you could find people ripping Peppers to shreds for his play, moaning about every pick, contract, and as spirited of debates as you could find on every QB from Matt Moore to Jake Delhomme. and the reverse was also true. You could find idiots like me pimping Dwayne Jarrett even past the point of embarrassment. POSITIVITY! He just needs more opportunity!!!!
  12. I mean, there is optimism....and then are people who lecture and call out any post dares talk about the reality of a Ben McAdoo hire. Or lecture you and post stalk for daring talk about the career of Miles Sanders or Frank Reich, and what essentially lead to them being here. They go thread to thread and post to post defending the honor of everyone in blue and black. but like I said, that largely is a before the season kicks off thing. there is nothing menacing about the "shadow group of huddlers" you reference. They just exist from time to time. iamhubby is an extreme version of it. there are some more watered down versions and sure, you can cherry pick out a couple axes they might have to grind in their posts. Absolutes almost never exist nor should that be how things are argued. I mean, saying someone represents the positive only segment doesn't mean if you find a post where they weren't nice about something they don't represent that "group". I mean, I'm a Matt Rhule hater. But you can find a post of me defending him in handful of moments. I'm still a hater. Those posts don't change the blanket term someone throws at me. and I have endorsed positive only threads in the past. Who cares. I think people should be allowed to bitch too. So if a thread is marked where only bitching or cheering is going to be? Stay out of the one that would bother you. That's my 2 cents.
  13. heck, we should trade Horn. We can't pay him. We aren't on schedule to do anything that matters next year either.
  14. yeah, Frank won't even know he isn't out there. Until someone asks about it.
  15. I mean, you got a legit injury? You might try to play through it to help your team make a run. That's probably not smart but you see it often. Your team is 0-6 with no realistic outcome of doing anything? Playing through injury just isn't worth the risk.
  16. those types largely do exist, but it's generally a position/mindset that emerges in the offseason and before the season starts off. We certainly had that here. As the season goes on, they shift from being as hardline. Because, well, it is what it is.
  17. Probably some truth to that. Quick money makes many people start being silly between the ears
  18. No draft pick has ever produced diddly poo in the NFL at the time acquired by a team. And most disappoint. QB bust rate is not incredibly high. that’s just giving away franchises to random people that might work out and might not. That might be with your team a year or 2.
  19. That’s a bit of a red flag. That’s not balls. That’s delusion or insanity. If true.
  20. Seems like Frank is just as full of bologna as Matt Rhule to date. Because very little they have said appears to be in the ballpark of true. this isn’t a win now team Bryce needed a full preseason of work there was never a creative offense to be unleashed Sanders isn’t a good 3 down RB
  21. Goff was multi Pro Bowl/SB QB with the Rams. It’s not like Goff suddenly got good though. I consider him like Reid moving on from Alex Smith. A really solid QB. Team just wanted even more. That’s not a world we can understand.
  22. Tua has a fantastic young and inventive HC. Tua has the fastest WR/RB skill talent in the NFL and that features arguably the best WR in the NFL and the biggest coverage influencer at the position. It’s just not Tua working hard on improving. It takes a village. And we are largely a deserted village.
  23. I didn’t either. But that’s what the team said and that’s how they behaved. They deserve to be criticized. Bryce isn’t at the top of my list of complaints. But I think it’s fair to talk about his limitations and ones that will never go away. He needs a good team around him. He doesn’t have the physical tools to mask problems in the manner some others do. And that should be okay to talk about.
  24. This is a win now team and Bryce Young didn’t even need real rookie preseason reps. That’s what the franchise told us. seems fair to critique the inability to do basics given that
  25. True. But we don’t even have an inconsistent deep ball right now.
