  1. it's Kenny Pickett followed by all Baylor guys. I mean, I don't know what to call that. Completely made up jibberish or the most accurate prediction ever made here. *but no, it didn't really leak.
  2. Rhule's draft board just leaked and who he is targeting 1 - Kenny Pickett -QB 4- Kalon Barnes - CB 5 - Terrel Bernard - OLB 5 -JT Woods - S 6 - Thor Rodoni - LS 7 - Xavier Newman Johnson - G
  3. Not at #6. Not when you just own the #6 pick and your next is a 4th rounder. if we had been accumulating draft captial like a rebuilding team should. Then yeah, we should find a way to add QB talent. But still not at #6.
  4. There are people here who want an OT at #6 because this is an OT draft.....and we haven't had a decent OL in a long time. Which is the key cog along w/ QB to have offense in the NFL.
  5. again, it just did. Justin Fields was his name. The guy who was largely viewed as 1b to Trevor the last 2 years of college football leading up to the draft. He outplayed Trevor the two times he shared the field with him. He fell to us at #8. The scenario you mentioned happened. The whole point is you can't say it can't happen. What can't happen is to have clowns like Matt Rhule in charge when the opportunities do occur. Because you miss them with clowns in charge. Who sell you crazy math like worst QB in the NFL + CB prospect > drafting Fields LOL. Just as insane today as it was then.
  6. Trevor is a rare duck. You see one of those about once a decade. Almost not worth talking about that tier prospect. Remove Trevor from last year's class and it was still a QB draft. This one isn't. again, the storm you just referenced happened. Which was the point of bringing it up. Never happen, just happened. We failed to captialize on the opportunity. But it happened. The fact Matt Rhule paid a bunch of draft captial for the worst starting QB in the NFL had a lot to do with folks thinking about doing something different. And the national converation at that moment the Sam deal was made was that all the QBs might be gone by the time Carolina drafted. But a very healthy percentage still wanted Fields despite that dumb move by Rhule when he fell to us.
  7. you said something was never going to happen....that literally just happened in the last draft. me being a Clemson doesn't mean diddly when it comes to the pros. I generally advocate against a lot of Clemson players in terms of them panning out. I wanted Gilmore over Jackson and Wharton is one of my favorites of all time. And I have always argued you could claim Captain Munnerlyn was one of the best draft picks we ever made (all things factored). But yeah, Justin Fields was the correct pick. It's not hard. Matt Rhule just fugs things up. If you are rebuilding with no OL and QB and can't stop the run.....you don't draft a DB. No matter how good he is.
  8. Watson was the best player in college football his during the span of his last 2 seasons in college. It doesn't have to be hard. People make things hard. Watson was in a different tier than Pickett.
  9. I mean the perfect storm literally happened the last draft. and they drafted a CB when Fields fell to them.
  10. Maybe we can snag another long snapper
  11. Because his entire career has been on Phil Snow’s back and success. He doesn’t know good offense. The best QB play he has ever seen was PJ Walker
  12. Yeah, another problem is the not keeping the GM/HC in sync. We didn’t need Rhule learning from Marty. Crossing of eras IMO is problematic. and Rhule talks like you suggested. In the same breath he talks about rebuilding he talks about winning now too. Doing both.
  13. I don’t really disagree in theory. I would have preferred when we hired Rhule and the Cam era ended (and Luke walked) we went into draft pick accumulation mode. And started stockpiling draft picks at the cost of certain players on the roster. but we didn’t. I’d rather buy a 10 dollar lotto ticket than a bunch of 1 dollar tickets given where we are. but I really don’t care. Just don’t want a QB in the first. Rather do that in a better QB draft. Last draft was the year for QB IMO. We messed that up too.
  14. If….. 1st round. - Defense 4th round - Defense 5th, 6th and 7th round all offense you would call that an offensive draft. More offense than defense. It wouldn’t be investing in the O with our draft capital. Rhule has used our draft capital to date on our D.
  15. We do have lots of holes. I like the odds of trying to really solve one with the #6. Quality prospect over quantity approach. I think this is an OT draft. these clowns shouldn’t of traded way all our picks. I won’t throw a fit over a DL or OL though. But these clowns probably trade down a bunch and go with the quantity approach. I do think Rhule wants a rookie QB who he can thrust out there in some face saving move. To play the “of course we suck card” he is a rookie.
  16. We have had 5 picks in the first 2 rounds under Rhule and 4 of the 5 have been defense. Including 2 top 10 defensive players. he is right.
  17. I hope he doesn’t. I think people got too giddy about his trade downs last go round. take a premier OT prospect and call it a day. You shouldn’t of traded away your picks. Lessons learned.
  18. Phil Snow getting 3 straight top 10 picks?
  19. NFL teams could figure out the basics in year 1 though. He wasn’t throwing crazy stuff out there. The core of it all had been around for a long time. Teddy was a functional QB though. Just flawed. And Brady is a passing OC. He needs functional QB. Was Brady good? Don’t think he had time to develop into good yet. But I don’t think he was the problem. Problem was a green passing OC that was given the worst QB in the NFL. Sam stinks. So you had a green OC dumbing stuff down for Sam and Sam can’t be depended on for anything. It was evident in camp IMO they were worried about Sam. He was not throwing downfield in camp reportedly. All checkdowns. He sucked and Matt Rhule and Joe Brady can’t make a bad QB work. Great coaches struggle with such.
  20. I still don't think Joe Brady was the problem. the QB and 3 of our WRs all posted career seasons. Teddy just wouldn't pull the trigger when needed. Was Brady green? Sure. But Joe Brady's track record pre Darnold in the NFL and college was impressive until Sam came to town. Then Sam Darnold came and did what he does. I fail to see how McAdoo is going to alter the impact of what Sam Darnold does. Sam isn't a MVP/Super Bowl QB. Which is what McAdoo had success with and they were that before he arrived as OC.
  21. I believe he said he has proven he can play QB at a high level. If the worst starter over the last 4 seasons says that then it is cherry pick city… so let’s just do it with PJ and call him the GOAT
  22. Well, I endorse our QBs being Sam and PJ this season. I don’t want them to draft one. I want a decent HC and I want him to draft a QB. Build the OL
