  1. Yeah, Del Rio got there last year and they finished the season as the #2 rated defense. it's silly to try to paint strong narratives only using 3 weeks of football. They played Chargers and Bills...and the D had to deal with the impacts of an inefficient offense figuring out a sudden QB change. Del Rio is proven at DC.
  2. Del Rio and Ron were very good defensive coordinators. Them being meh HCs doesn't alter that imo but I think it often does. it's just overpromotion. they were and are still great DCs IMO.
  3. I mean he probably is better today than Chubba. But that isn’t the point. We drafted Chubba for a reason. Windows like we are currently in are where he can grow…with the goal of being better than Mack. I want our young kids getting reps over JAGs. Tremble, Brady, Chubba IMO should be put into position to get good reps.
  4. I don't think teams specifically get biased calls. I do think certain plays get calls others don't. I think that is where ref bias really shows itself the most. I don't consider crews that call certain things heavier than others bias. You see that a lot too. But that is part of coaching, knowing what crew is calling your game and their tendency....and you should know that and play to it.
  5. CMC is only out likely for two weeks. We should keep repping Chubba to see what he develops into. That's the whole point of drafting him.
  6. I think Dallas should be favored in this one….and if we lose? it won’t mean anything. We just lost CMC, Arnold, and Horn. We will still be in great shape and should win the following week.
  7. No clue. I would guess it boils down to ego and pride. Stubborn coaches thinking their scheme is superior and refusing to evolve as talent dictates
  8. Well for the elite talk. Elite QBs avoid that. That’s all on Dak.
  9. but the Bears essentially used up his entire rookie deal and dealt him for not being a fit. We got him going into year 5
  10. I can’t recall an example of team trying to deal a top 10 pick after year one….who actually looked good. Which he did. Expensive vets? Busts? Yeah. it’s a great deal for us. I just think you got to temper expectation of what it turns into. If he is gone after this year I don’t think it would reflect bad at all on our FO. And I have been hard on this current group.
  11. Charlie Strong addressed he was having issues…..and we just got him for decent TE. I think it is safe to say it isn’t just fake internet rumors off those two facts.
  12. They certainly know, it’s how they got the 2020 #9 pick in exchange for…..Dan Arnold.
  13. I don’t get the sense that when they call him “different”….that they just mean quiet and reserved.
  14. The cost is worth the gamble. But the cost is why I am not getting my hopes up either. It’s like us trading Jaycee Horn next year for a decent TE. That just wouldn’t make sense…unless there was something up with Horn.
  15. That might be the saddest top 10 draft pick I have ever seen. hopefully getting out of FL does him well.
  16. For the cost? This was a great move. but what we got him for and the fact the Jags have been trying to unload him since this summer? I think does kinda confirm there is at least something there. All season the #7 pick of the 2020 draft has been offered up for cheap (who has looked promising when he played)….there has to be red flags that teams are aware of for that to happen IMO.
  17. I wouldn’t say entirely, Charlie Strong indicated he was having some issues and dealing with stuff. I only remember him talking about it because I had no clue Charlie was now with the Jags and was surprised he was there now
  18. there is a thread from the off-season that discusses it when the Jags were trying to deal him back then I believe that goes into it.
  19. A lot of early season stats and rankings are pretty misleading though… that stat is made up of two games vs Brady and Herbert. Which based on what we have seen to date, might be the worst draw anyone could open up with
  20. I always felt Trevor's rookie season would be very similar to Peyton Mannings. and I think he will end up with the rookie passing TD record in the end. In that same breath, I always said I think people might be shocked at how many INTs he throws as a rookie. Like Peyton.
  21. * Rhule did note that Horn possibly could be season ending. Pretty much both sided it when it was followed up on.
  22. Dak has a playoff win. The last time the Cowboys went to the playoffs they advanced a game.
  23. Hopefully they stay Zeke heavy. Tony Pollard IMO is the more explosive player and overall better RB at this point. That started emerging last year. Not that Zeke is trash. But losing a step has really altered how scary he is. Will be curious to see the usage tonight. They were about a 50/50 split the week prior.
