Here is the Fields problem IMO. 2019 - Fields was a superstar. Everyone evaluated Trevor and Fields as peers. 2020 kicks off - Fields resumes where he left off. Everyone raving about him. Best in college football stuff. **COVID hits Ohio St like crazy. 3 games of 20+ players out. In between 2 canceled games because of too many players out with COVID. Fields doesn’t look good here. OL out. WRs out. Is he struggling to make reads or or is it just a mess of mixed up players each week lining up causing problems? There is no comparable to what Ohio St endured here. They are just trying to log a game to get to the CFP. Players return 2020 - CFP - Fields destroys Clemson. He does have a bad game vs Bama. the problem is all the criticism IMO is overly focused on the COVID 5 week window. If you put that 5 week window aside the knock on Fields is he had a bad game vs Alabama. That’s it.

ACL tears don't bother me anymore. Watson tore his ACL then suited up the next week to beat his rival. Next two seasons he went to back to back Natty's and became the best player in college. ACL didn't impact him. Went to the NFL. Tore his ACL his rookie year. Then went on to be the NFL Watson. Look at TD. Easily argue the best part of his career was post ACL injury. ACLs happen. They get fixed. Players recover. Wilson's throwing shoulder surgery is a bigger worry than Watson's knee.

Trevor and Fields have the two highest ceilings. So if you got good coaching, the order to me at least, seems obvious.

Why is the pro day and interview big for Fields and not Wilson? I really don't get this Wilson/Fields thing. I guess I'll quit worrying about it. But these rocket ship narratives we have seen w/ Wilson jumping Fields is just something my pea brain doesn't compute.

generally, speaking? Probably. But Pete's current situation isn't the norm. Would apply that to very very few other coaches. It requires not only consistent success, Super Bowls, etc.....but also the right owner to allow it.
-
Pete answers to no one pending the franchise is winning and on a good track. If he is losing and on a bad track? He would answer to the owner. Probably be gone relatively quick for it like every other coach.
-
per Wilson, Pete essentially answers to no one

Chris Simms Just Released his 2021 QB Rankings

Mond is Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. I personally don't see how anyone can think that would change. -
NBC's Peter King wont be suprised if Mac Jones goes ahead of Lance

Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields likely would have opted out of SPRING football. Has nothing to do with nuts. They are all first round picks prepping for the NFL draft. College football is played in the fall. His conference should of played in the fall. Trey Lance played every game he could of during the season. That ended up being only 1 game. It makes no sense for a projected draft pick (not just first round) to go put a beating on their body in a spring season in advance of the NFL summer camps and fall season. -

Simms called Wentz “the most talented QB prospect to enter the NFL since Andrew Luck, and he could even be better.” -
oh, I have not read all that. Those guys are confirmed as showing up? If so, I put Cam at a 50.7% chance of showing up. Cam got organization beef though. None of the retired guys do at this stage.

just a guess. I'd wager no. Kinda steals the spotlight.

just get some computer program to simulate Dabo running his mouth each week. That seems to work.

Mac Jones at #39 > Lance at #8 I can handle Mac Jones if he falls to the 2nd round. I can't handle Mac at 8.

Moore, Anderson, Samuel. All 3 had 1000 yards. Ball in their hands and you can't deny the talent all 3 have. How many trios can you name as good in the NFL last year? I mean, nitpick it. Doesn't really matter. Point is veteran Teddy had legit targets schemed up by Joe Brady. Young Sam was in NY with nothing.

Mond is weird. You watch him one week and he legitimately looks good. Next week you wonder how he starts for a SEC school. -

yep, the Urban thing really baffled me. To have Trevor fall in your lap and then go hire him is just nuts. Lawrence is the best QB in this draft. Could I see another QB having more success with their team early on? Sure. Which IMO is the game he is playing. A lesser QB than Trevor could have more success next year playing for us vs the Jags. We got great WRs. A great RB. A great OC. -
Teddy is a vet who played with probably the 2nd best trio at WR in the NFL and had a great OC Sam is younger than Burrow, had no weapons and played for the Jets. Teddy was suppose to grade out better. Teams will want Sam. That is the problem. Which means he will garner more than he is worth. So I don't want him because he will cost more than I would give up. But if I could get him at a decent price I would take him.

Simms isn’t evaluating QBs as much as he is guessing landing spots IMO. -
And yet 6 of the last 7 Super Bowls were won by who? Unauthletic QBs. And not even young versions of themselves. So they weren’t even in their athletic primes of their unathletic careers.

Also worth noting for the Wilson fanboys who bring up the fact Trevor and Fields played with better talent. Trevor played against more teams where the opponent had more talent than his team did vs Wilson. Plus the added fact Trevor was evading NFL talent coming at him on the DL. Wilson wasn’t extending plays vs that. -

Anyone who doesn’t have Trevor one is looking for clicks. Simple as that. -
lot of those guys don’t have cannons.

Last 20 Super Bowl winners. Last won by a 40+ year old immobile QB 95% of kickers in the league can out run. Tom Brady, Brad Johnson, Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, Drew Brees, Joe Flacco, Nick Foles. and Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson
