  1. I assume the big reason they would be hesitant to flex for weather is less about the teams being able to pull it off and the TV/broadcast/money stuff coming into play
  2. Yeah, I think you should at least be able to flex pending it’s done 24 hours out to avoid the really big and obvious.
  3. Sour grapes? Bro, I’m the guy that was just arguing King is THE best QB in the ACC the other week. You straight up manifesting something here lol. I merely said they need King to stay on field and healthy….and that is something to question if you talking about a GT run. Because he gets hurt. A lot. I’ll take GT over any team in the ACC if King is ready to rock and roll. He is the best player.
  4. With Tech you got to wonder if it is realistic for King to stay healthy enough to pull of that type year though …..given the volume that is required of him. In his non-Temple games he is averaging 22 carries from the QB spot. Thats a tough load for him. I don’t think any ACC team wins out. Miami got the best odds but I still don’t believe in Beck
  5. Critiquing a college team hiring Belichick as dumb and a NFL team hiring Dabo as dumb….are both reasonable assertions that exercise similar thought processes. and in neither case do you need to “name someone better” before making those relatively easy to make critiques.
  6. I don’t think Frank thought he could make a huge throw unless life was perfect for him. We have never seen BY really even attempt such either at any point in his career ……and even checkdown Teddy uncorked 50+ his one season here
  7. I didn’t put a great deal of time into who I named because you just said to name people because the point is the point…..and Tepper sold that point to you and everyone else when they drafted him. That he could do that. He isn’t that. So what do you want? Only examples of it showing in their 3rd year or the point somehow doesn’t exist? Lamar would have qualified by year 3. McNabb did by year 3. Lots of guys who did it at random points could have done it year 3 if that would have been the random year they were called to do it. If you name any QB that is actually good you can find windows where they elevate players during down times on a roster. That’s what I said and it’s true. It’s so true…. that was the entire sales pitch for Bryce our stupid over investment into him. Nothing to argue about.
  8. windows exist for basically every great QB. Go look at what Peyton turned into a top 5 O his first year in Denver with John Fox. They had nothing there worth talking about. He made Thomas. Go look at what Brady did when Gronk got hurt. He made Edelman. Brees, Lamar, Cam, Rodgers and on and on. the entire reason the Panthers could sell their fanbase on mortgaging our future on Bryce….was because they claimed he could do what these dudes could do. Which is make water out of wine when needed. Not that you want it to be that way every season. But good QBs can 100% can elevate and create players when need be
  9. I think he proven he doesn’t have the arm to throw some of the tougher out routes. Too risky of a pick. I think he has proven he doesn’t have the arm to make a lot to tougher throws downfield when you can get him moving backward or not having an ideal setup. Teddy Bridgewater could lob it 50+. That’s not a measure of an NFL arm
  10. I don’t think that worked like you think it worked there
  11. but if the Panthers hired Dabo next year, why would I need to give you a name of a better hire to call the bad Dabo hire, a bad hire? It's the same thing. and you can literally buy almost any player. Heck UNC could of paid Air Noland that oddly went down to SC to improve their QB situation.
  12. my bad, I reversed the games when I read it. I was referring to the win. The first game. if you apply the BY curve, the 1st game was a good game.
  13. Bryce Young is 1-14 on the road. The 1 road win aligning w/ the weirdness that is Atlanta when it comes to Bryce.
  14. Folks a little hard of McCarthy. He sucked his his NFL debut on the road but was okay in his second start. if you apply the Bryce Young curve that 2nd game qualifies as really really good game.
  15. Patriots are out a starting G. Starting Corner is questionable. Other than that, everyone else listed was a full participant. The other G is questionable but I think anyone that is a full participant generally always is a go.
  16. I think XL is getting a Bryce Young Seattle game.....only it's more than 1 game. I think dude just needs a break. So much of football is mental.
  17. Game status Tmac - questionable (calf) Hubbard - questionable (calf) Wharton - questionable (hammy) *all questionable were limited participants on Fri XL - out Saunders - out Pat Jones - out Wonnum- out
  18. yeah, it wasn't that crazy Bama roster or that old Miami roster.... but...in his 2 years as a starter at Bama 3 of his RBs went to the NFL 4 of his WRs went to the NFL 2 of his TEs went to the NFL 5 of his OL went to the NFL No one in college football had that around them. There is a reason McElroy, McCarron, Sims, Coker, Hurts, Tua and Bryce all had success.....they played w/ the best rosters in college football paired w/ the best coach. Not sure why recently, the narrative shifted on the Bama QBs being a bigger part of the puzzle than they ever were.
  19. He sounds like a clown after.......making history not seen since the 70s. (last team to outgain their opponent by that yardage and get skunked to that extent). but I mean, BOA is pretty mellow. Always has been. I mean, it gets up when it needs to but I like the vibe in Charlotte. But we are what Cam criticized us for being before he got here.
  20. if you give good QBs, an OL and run game.....they make WRs. I mean, there is a long list of that occurring over and over and over. Again. Check the sales pitch for why we drafted Bryce. That was the salespitch because it is a reality. He just isn't it. Sure, you want to give every QB a crazy weapon. But most good QBs go through windows with meh talent and they aren't bottom barrel offenses because of the QB.
  21. I'm not advocating for it. The Trevor scenario in today's NFL is horrible given what you have to pay that caliber of QB. It's better to either hit a homerun and get the next tier QB or bust on a pick. You just have to move on quick from the bust. We should of moved last year. I don't think there is any point talking about what the talk was when Bryce was drafted. He is nothing like Brees. Especially a young Brees.
  22. Sure, but again, the Vikings still put up 350+ yards of offense while putting up that 48. They were in the offensive dreamworld. See some of those 2015 Panther games. That's when an O can really have some fun. I'm not saying TJ is great. But the Vikings actually have a TE. AT doesn't really have a place in that offense. He can't play on the outside. He isn't actually a slot WR (too slow and no YAC), you don't want him there.
  23. to me, Trevor and CJ (what we are projecting with this post) are what people want to claim Bryce is. If you put enough talent around Trevor and CJ......you can win and compete. And I think you can. It just will be inconsistent. But w/ great talent can a Trevor or CJ get hot and make some nice runs? I think so. Maybe you catch lightning in a bottle. I don't think Bryce projects as that. His ceiling of play is just way too different than those types. They have tools he doesn't and their good days can just be better.
  24. I think with CJ you likely are looking at variant of the sophomore slump. It didn't come week 1 of year 2. Showed itself late last year and continues on this year. CJ has the talent to play in this league. He already proved that. The first real test after you can prove you got what it takes.....is can you overcome NFL teams really getting to know you (which to me is what a sophomore slump is).
  25. This is the NFL. Being a great college football doesn't mean anything once you enter the pros. The Golden Calf of Bristol was a great college player. Arguable THE GOAT. Armanti Edwards was a great college player. Given Bryce's limitations, you need a crazy good roster around him and scheme. And that's not what you are looking for in a NFL QB. Sam has always been Sam. At every stop. You do some some mild growth that just comes with time/starts but Sam is forever Sam. A well built team can get the better version which has ALWAYS existed to appear at times. We never even attempted the Baker thing in reality. We never gave him a shot to actually be our QB. We set that up to fail by design (which is what we do here) but yeah, the organization does stink. Which is my MAIN gripe. See my avatar. The square peg/round whole experiment that is Bryce is yet another example of it. You have to invest way too much around Bryce for him to be just okay. Just look at us to date and we still can't get average offense. He doesn't have NFL tools. Nor the added bonus of the on field leadership/energy. We are wasting time. And when you waste time, you waste the good years of DB, Horn, etc. The offensive roster has been good enough around him under Canales.....to be better than we have been. Bryce is what holds this thing back because you can't insert him into basic NFL offenses. He brings those down. And we got 2 examples of it under 2 coaches. Great NFL prospects go about making whatever exists better. That ain't BY. And it never has been. That wasn't him at Bama. Pointless seasons is my #1 pet peeve of Carolina. I'll keep repeating, this has always been clearly Matt Rhule's seasons 3 but for Bryce. We already know the answer and yet chose to waste this season. And Matt Rhule had his defenders still clinging to him going into that year 3 too.
