  1. And they do it while smiling. Good, keep the heat on the issue. Nothing will change until the players force it in a CBA but it needs to be out there constantly for that to ever happen.
  2. Didn't JR make an ex-cheerleader in charge when he had to step down and sell? Morgan can do all of that or the guy behind Morgan if he walked too? They wouldn't do a complete house cleaning until they hired the next guy anyways. IDK. Trying to guess what the hell Tepper is thinking just leads to a headache for me.
  3. They can't officially hire them in that situation but they can interview and make a deal to hire them after the playoffs. So why wait?
  4. I seriously don't get it. I can guess the first part but what the hell is he doing between now and Black Monday that would be any different than just firing him now?
  5. Dave was fired right before the season started. Some wait until after the draft. It's a mixed bag. In this case why would they need to wait 4 more weeks? Is his work getting that time left to prove himself? Has Tepper ever really shown enough competency that it's normal for him to do the typical thing? If he wasn't fired by now I am very skeptical he will be fired. Maybe he is being held as a backup plan if Tepper can't buy what he wants to in the offseason. That is the best rational I could think of vs just starting the hiring process and getting a head start on other teams.
  6. Then why is he still here? Why not begin the hiring process on the GM side now? I have no idea how keeping SF helps any master plan if he is going to just be around for a couple more weeks. This just sounds like pure speculation from a source. I wish it is true but that doesn't make it true unfortunately.
  7. Why do you think so many don't want to see it? Because it would prove the obvious and they couldn't hide behind 'it's so hard to evaluate Young this year' anymore while having to internally confront going so hard for a massive bust way past the point of being reasonable.
  8. Anyone! Everyone should be auditioning now for the new coaching staff and hopefully front office crew. Playing Dalton and getting more out of anyone only helps next year. Bryce is so bad that his play effects everyone else. Playing Dalton just allows a decent backup level of play to see if any positives can be found. There is no good master plan to convince someone who knows so little about football why his guy is complete ass. It just doesn't exist. The best hope of a decent next guy is 2025. Until then it's take anything better that you can get because the owner is a football idiot and any hope of him doing anything decent is a complete waste of time right now. Prepare for another year next year very similar to this year until he steps back and allows someone else to fire all the garbage he has hired.
  9. I didn't say cut bait, i said they have sacrificed and wasted enough time when nothing is changing for Bryce any week. I also said he would be here next year regardless. Just admiting he is very likely a dud isn't cutting bait it's just accepting the situation vs waiting for the butterfly to emerge and start doing that which he can't do at this level even agaisnt bottom tier compitition. The only people using excuses at this point are the same ones that can't admit what the situation really is anyways so doing anything isn't going to change their cope. At least work on the rest of the team and stop playing the anchor that kills all momentum of any possible improvement for the other guys.
  10. Maybe. If the leaks keep coming and he was any part of that mess then maybe something but nothing great (which he looks to be fine with given he wanted to stay after Rhule). I guess there is always going back to school to coach where it is easy.
  11. What more do you really need to learn about Young this season? He has already proven what he is and regardless he is here next year to compete or be given the job again. Why not focus on trying to build up other players and not having the bust of a QB keep the entire offense from any legitimate chance to improve the last few weeks?
  12. Unless his plan is to get fired and collect that money while somewhere else it can't possibly be worth it. It looks like career suicide. Fank was prepared for retirement when he took the job so that makes sense. Seriously who is going to want to work with the guy given the entire situation? IDK but I wouldn't bet on him getting a great next job or the new HC being happy with having to keep the guy either.
  13. Tabor looks like a yes man. The fact he took the interim position should seriously raise the questions about his mental abilities and motivations given the ugly behind the scenes going on in that building. I just wonder if he realized his mistake yet or if he is just that dumb. Looking at his coaching philosophies I am leaning towards dumb
  14. A conditional 6th in the 2026 draft for most. It would be interesting to see who would be willing to pay more.
  15. Build the lines. Trying to cover up Bryce's deficiencies is like trying to fill a blackhole with sand. Just build the lines and the backup will hit the players he has just fine when the new crew finally does what Reich wasn't allowed to do.
  16. Yeah that's why they played him that one game like when they used him for sneaks...
  17. Not to be that much better than a #1 pick QB, it's not like he is competing against a 3rd round project. Especially for a 15 year vet who is a shadow of his old self. Making the football bearable to watch would be a fun thing to try again this year.
  18. He is the best QB on the roster and it's not close.
  19. This entire team should earn their starting spot. If they hand it to Young without legit compitition after what went down this season then it's just hamstringing another coaching staff unnecessarily. If he can't beat out a Dalton or at least make it close enough that talk of improvemt is more than blind hope then he shouldn't be starting. Another historically bad year just for the #1 vs letting a new staff begin to build off of those meaningless wins? Yeah no contest. They are still going to be top 10 and most likely top 5 even with a coupple of meaningless wins. Going back ti back 1 win seasons with a new staff would be very bad. Anyway you look at it if Bryce is forced as the starter when he shouldn't be this team will be worse off from it just like it has all season. To put that on annew staff will end like the last. If he can't earn it he shouldn't have it.
  20. Trading Moore made it a bad trade. You don't send what little talent you have away from the rookie QB you are picking, just dumb from any angle. Young and capable WR replaced with another 2nd round typical Panther WR special. Dumb. Picking Young made it an epically and historically bad trade. Young as a prospect wasn't nearly as good as a lot were yelling everywhere and it ended up being embarrassingly wrong. Young on this team with how it was built was stupid. Young with Reich was stupid. And no the Texans wouldn't be doing great with Young. They would just have wasted 1 first rounder and not another one, a starting WR and even more draft capital. They may have 2 or even 3 wins but if you think Young would be lighting it up like Stroud then you are still missing the obvious other parts of why Young is not going to pull out from the bust tailspin he is in now.
  21. They have to build the team from ashes anyways now. Saying they are going to build around Young just means that he won't face real competition next year and are avoiding Bryce's real issues (it's him first with lots after that) vs building the team up and letting him earn it or sit to work on his issues. The investment angle is a dead end. It's spent and gone, it won't be coming back. People walk away from bad investments every day, this is no less painful but certainly not a unique thing. They don't even have to walk away, just admit it was not what they hoped for. They should be trying to get more out of every player anyways. The difference would be to sit him to see if he can actually develope better habits. This team already has a better option on the roster currently, we don't need a stud just something better which is not only possible but already sitting around. The time to hand Young the starting spot just because of what they spent on him has past. He should earn it because if he can't beat out other QBs then he shouldn't be starting going forward regardless of what he cost them. It would actually be a mercy to him at this point and might help him salvage his career. The only thing positive to come out of more of this current approach with Young is the #1 pick in 2025 being a lock.
  22. Regressing or just being who he always was just now with NFL tape to prove it? The NFL isn't as easy as the NCAA and people who can't understand that are the ones that think he would be playing OK in Houston. His school tape was trash and he is living proof that school stats mean nothing when the training wheels come off. Hell one guy is still posting his school videos like it means anything other than how easy it is to win at that level and how lazy the draft stuff on him was from most of the 'experts'. We are worse with Bryce than we were with the any of the last 5 years of QBs. That is how bad Bryce really is at this level.
  23. Every 'what if' is better than what they actually did. Tepper got his man and it is a worst case scenario. Anyone talking about building up Young by building a roster around him is delisional and can't face the fact they drafted Bust Young at an incredible cost.
  24. Well trade him for a 2nd lol. If it was the team he would still have trade value. I'm guessing nothing before a 5th at best and most teams wouldn't send a 7th with his NFL film out there. Being a 'draft expert' is a job with so little accountability, it's worse thN weatherpeople. They just have to wait until the next draft when there is so much crap being produced that it's hard for most to remember the last years dump. Rinse and repeat.
  25. No way Burns signs the tag to be able to trade him. After this year he needs to go to a good team and have a prove it year. It is his best play for the size of contract he desires. His agent should know this and that trail has already been blazed. They won't even get a comp with the amount of free agents they need to sign.
