  1. It's a bigger problem to miss on Young then not win games this year. He may not be ready but he better get ready or hide on IR. If he needs to sit then they shouldn't have picked him and that would become a giant problem for them way sooner than next year. None of this has anything to do with how I feel about him or his play. He is also going to be publicly scrutinized as the # 1 pick so sitting doesn't make anything quieter, it actually increases the angst and media volume moving forward. Love didn't have that behind Rodgers. Mahhomes didn't have that behind Smith. And Lance who was a giant failure didn't get much care because they were winning and he was behind Jimmy G and Purdy. Allen only started 11 games but he was also a known project and leap for them. You want to put Young behind Dalton and call it justified? It's like brining your own nails to a crucifixion.
  2. Too busy making deals but after the SC fiasco it's obvious where his attention is focused. The other hint is that he keeps hiring people he likes and not people that do a better job. And he is training Nicole in his ways...
  3. He is acting a lot more like the owners that meddle. Plenty of flags out there. You sound desperate and your case does not hold up under scrutiny. Tepper has been apart of every process every year. He was learning from them his first year. He was buddies with Rhule his first year. And he was still going on serious scouting visits when they still had him coming in for a personal visit where it's much more likely to meet owners at their house and such right? It's like some of yall did not experience JRs pr years. He was such a fair, kind and respectful gentleman because they told me so and he looked it. LOL
  4. Holy crap when hasn't Tepper been involved with the process? WTF are yall talking about. He is always in the room. Draft, scouting trips, meatballs. He doesn't look like a Jerry trying to be a GM but he sure is on hand anytime something goes down. That doesn't take away form the rest of the crew doing their thing. He is always there and crap always ends up the same seems to be the consistent things going on since he bought the team.
  5. Anything sure. Guy has either been wasted here or was a 1 year wonder. I'm just interested in seeing which
  6. Now put Chinn in at SS so we can all see what that looks like before his contract is up.
  7. Little happens in the NFL in a vacuum. They were meddling being there and that is at least 1 %. Never said 100.
  8. Go look up other owners at prodays & proday dinners and get back to me. No one knows the mix but he was there. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...
  9. Tepper was at that dinner along with Nicole. No idea what the mix was but they were there and in on that pick to some extent.
  10. Love went 26 and was a project. They spent 2 1st and a starting WR in his prime to pick Young who's giant positive was he was pro-ready. Closes thing to Young sitting would be Lance at 3 who sat behind Jimmy G who had been taking them to the playoffs and he was a giant project coming from a covid riddled year. I don't know about any other QBs picked 1st sitting recently except for extremally poor performances. I'm going to look that up.
  11. It's the #1 pick. They play and not sit or there is a problem. Young's issues will be solved on the field and not a clipboard. He was never a project and his biggest hurdle is game speed and getting rid of the ball faster, that is in game stuff. He was already super smart and they opened up the playbook for him in preseason practice. The 'injury' is why he didn't play so sitting him would be a giant red flag, I think they would IR him over that. Sitting isn't the answer anyway you look at it. Running the ball a hell of a lot more sure is but I am not sure we will see that soon.
  12. Horn is constant soft tissue injury and Ickey is not playing in the scheme he was drafted for or the one Wilks put into place that he looked good in. One is luck and the other is on teambuilding/schemes. I'm not sure Ickey can make it in the current scheme long term but maybe. Or they could change the scheme since most of these guys excelled in what worked last year. Horn is looking like it just won't change at this point so that really is a coinflip. Most of the grind there was from the players everyone else wanted that went on to stud and him landing in the spot he has. These scouts have had a lot of wrong lately but Ickey can play better but it might not be for us if the trainwreck continues.
  13. I said a few plays. OP said 'incorporated'. That is to combine not substitute by definition. That is what the OP said 'purposely incorporate'. I am also talking about the coaching calls which I assumed were calling the plays that have those reads preestablished. The QB just goes through the called reads on that play or audibles to the next set? Right? Coaches to QB who then works the play or audibles the called play. I am talking about the playcalling not spreading the ball around enough in the passing or running game. Both Thielin and Hurst are average at this point. It doesn't matter who is better, just who can get open and spreading the ball around helps that usually. Kind of like a half way effective running game. Spread the damn ball around. To everyone. Fug their skills or ability. Just go spread the ball around because this team doesn't have anyone that can justify not doing so and it would be helping itself if it did.
  14. IDK. But comparing a rookie #1 pick to the Vet backup in week 4 is not something anyone wanted to do this year. Coping can be ugly and trying to make a safe space for a player is a very bad sign of what is going down. No one here went to their house and knocked on their door to talk about their play so unless they are stupid enough to come read any of this it shouldn't matter to the players feelings so in the end it's really about the posters feelings. Which is why we all come here I guess. There are no gold stars but there is some pie and lots of FU.
  15. It's Dalton and he just looked better with the same crew and tons of hits/pressures. People like and dislike players all the time. Young is fair game like anyone else. Also going to be hard to be the ROY on the bench... Miami is looking like a Dalton game given how this year is going...
  16. Given the situation, if this is for a PS spot they should have said so upfront.
  17. Yeah RBs do a lot more than just run or they should and getting more RBs other than Sanders involved is a thing they also need to try again. I said short passing game, 1 Theilen (for you) and 2 Hurst in different directions with the rest going elsewhere. It's so easy. One is a WR and the other is a TE so I hope they do get different looks, that is the entire point of combining them on some plays. Look at the passing charts. There is plenty of small work being done to go around. I said a sprinkling, not heavy, would allow the others to maybe get open, looking at TMJ, or more effective deeper stuff to Chark. It's called spreading it around which is what the OP was talking about which tends to open it up for others which I am guessing was the entire point. How is rotating another player into the mix when Theilin already being option 1 isn't working well enough anything less than something to try? The more people getting receptions is a great thing, not a negative. It should open up somethings for others which is the entire point.
  18. He isn't involved just like Hibbard isn't involved. Getting him involved would be calling plays for him. It's all semantics which is why I said it's the same thing. I thought that is why most plays have multiple reads. How many are they calling with just one read?
  19. Didn't Wilks do all of this with a defensive background? In a short amount of time last year? Yes he did. Link
  20. Use both and they should be using those plays just like they should be running more. It's such low hanging fruit left of the tree. Send them is different directions and let the QB get rid of it. Build them up, build up the pass protection and keep the D honest. Hurts' best days are behind him but even Walls could make those plays when he was way over hill. I don't see it as drawing up plays for Hurts as much as just getting him involved, which in the middle is the same thing. Short yardage and sprinkle him throughout a drive for an easy 4 to 6 yards. Do Thielen on the other side and see who gets open or has a bad matchup. Any player that can produce should get sprinkled into the playcalling and that includes the RBs.
  21. He could absolutely be used in short yardage stuff throughout a game. And easy short yardage stuff from multiple targets where the ball gets out fast would sure put the rookie in a better spot. Everyone knew Brady was going to get rid of it quick and short and they still had trouble stopping him. It's not sexy but it works just fine.
