    Good stuff. I’d add that positional value should be factored in though. A good QB is 100x more valuable than a good OL. A good LT is more valuable than a LB.

    Sure, but would could WE do with those picks. That’s what matters.

    The Dolphins turned one player into two first-round picks and two second-round picks this year, two third-round picks in 2022 and two fist-round picks in 2023. That’s how you build a team fast. Who would you trade for something like that?

    We were most likely bidding against the 49ers and lost. The price just got too high for the 3rd best QB. I really don’t blame them.

    I think they’ll trade back with Denver.

    Right. Sucking that bad in FA and the draft means you end up without a core. The strategy right now seems to be 1) Build a team to attract a good QB. 2) Draft a QB that attracts a good team. 3) Luck into both.

    Agreed. Our only realistic strategy. The alternative is to suck so hard in FA and the draft that we end up with a top 5 pick.

    Yes, absolutely. We’ll be looking for an overlooked later round guy. QB purgatory is real. I expect 5+ years of this to be honest. I bet we go through 2 drafted QBs before we find anyone close to a ‘franchise’ guy again. Just the way things go.

    You know making this trade requires the Jets WANTING to give up that pick right? What do you want Tepper to do? Give up 5 years worth of 1st round picks? Waive a magic wand? Seriously, think before you post.

    Why is this the popular narrative right now? What facts are leading people to think the FO screwed this up and wasn’t paying attention? Maybe they did, or maybe the 9er’s were just willing to pay more. I doubt the 3rd pick was first come first serve.
